Overall experience - 2 Stars. *Can’t do natural 4C hair probably only 1A to 3A* I was hesitant to go in because I didn’t know if this salon supported my hair texture. I called in and the person answered the phone saying we can do you’re hair. The day of my appointment an hour before hand I got a call from an unknown number and a text message saying “please answer your phone this is Roc & Extension Hair” I called back to be ask to reschedule my appointment because the stylist wasn’t feeling well. This was after I had received an email confirmation and a text reminder. After choosing a new time and date I came to the salon 10 Mins before my appointment where the stylist wasn’t close to being done with another client - I knew she was going to be late working on my hair when I noticed that. She asked to see my hair to see if she could do it. I kinda lost it internally because I called and asked if they could do it and if I should come it for a consultation. The stylist informed me that she didn’t have the tools to do my hair, when all I wanted was a blow out (they are a blowout bar and I didn’t put in my notes for the scheduling that I DIDNT want bone straight hair). She referred me to her friend downtown who I couldn’t make an appointment with. The reason I’m giving two stars is the lack of communication between the person answering the phone and the stylist. The person on the phone was quick to say they could do something when they did not know the skills or tool set of the stylist in the saloon. Do youself a favor and find another place to go.  I had called to schedule time for my first full sew in-weave.  At first everything started off great with the owner, she was very responsive, didnt make me drive from SF to Oakland for a consultation, she simply asked for a picture of my hair.  (which I provided a pic from behind) She gave me the green light and guided me through what length hair I should chose to get the look I desired.  She sent me an email confirmation through her booking station for Thursday (I was leaving for a big trip on Friday and she wanted to work with me on scheduling.  This is where things went wrong.  One hour before my appointment she calls and says "I need to cancel, your hair didnt get here in time, I think its because of Donald Trump" Umm what? Donald Trump had my hair held up, weird?  I was disappointed, I had specifically asked if she could do my hair before my trip. Needless to say, I let it go and rescheduled (as I had already paid $400 for the hair) Fast forward to the day before my appointment.  The owner of the shop called and asked if I could reschedule again, she had another client she wanted to take my time slot. WHAT!! I told her I couldnt and we were keeping my now two week later appointment that was booked on her calendar.  Finally, its appointment time, I show up to her shop and guess what, SHES NOT THERE.  I called and asked where she was she said "Oh im right around the corner getting a net for your hair (dont you think you would already have an endless supply of nets as you are a weave and extension specific salon) I said ok, Ill wait for you.  35 MINUTES LATER she shows up.  After all of this, Im finally in the seat. At this point, I was upset but decided to let it go.  We started chatting about her wonderful son and things were getting better.  Midway through another client walks in and Tiffany says Ill be right with you.  ( she wasnt even half way through my full weave so we knew that was a lie)  SHe finally finishes my hair and turns me around to look at my leave out hair.  She gasps and says "wow that is really long, and scrambles to try and fix the leave out, but she had another client in waiting room and said "just curl it when you get home sweetie", Being that this was my frist time getting a full weave, I accepted her explanation and went home. (mind you my hair is straight and the weave I got was a full curly 22 inch weave.  For days I tried to figure out what to do, how to curl my straight leave out to match my curly weave,  I tried curling it, geling it, braiding it over night, EVERYTHING.  Finally, I had given up and needed her to fix the mess she had left out.  I text her asking for help and her response was " I get a million calls a day, can you tell me who this is"   Really? Why dont you just scroll up in your iMessages and see who youve been communicating with for over a month now.  She says "well its not my fault, thats how leave outs are" .  Dont you think you would have guided your client into getting a straight or less curly weave after the picture was sent?  Dont you think you would have helped with the leave out, made it less noticeable? I could go on and on about this experience but Ill just leave the most important topics here. OH lastly, there is a coupon on Yelp that honors 15% which she will not honor because "She doesnt remember telling Yelp they could do that" This was an awful, expensive lesson!  Dont make the same mistake I did. I have a short cut, which I love, and no one else has been able to cut my hair as well as Tiffany.  I enjoy the salon's atmosphere and decor.  I feel and look glamorous after my weekly appointments and I always get compliments on my hair! Read Less

Love getting my hair done here Tiffany knows alot about hair extensions ..she offers a wide variety about all hair types and what's best for your hair...I personally choose micro links and love them..Robbie is also a great stylist love coming here. Read Less

So I thought it was really funny that my review got deleted. I am writing this review to share my horrible experience in this salon. I had purchased Keratin Brazilian weave. I had contacted this salon to see if they were available. They agreed to it and gave me one price. So I made arrangements to go with my friend since he was driving. Mind you we live like one hour and thirty minutes away. Half way there I receive a call from the salon saying that I would have to be charged more since I was going in after hours. I was like getting annoyed but at the point I couldn't change so I agreed. By the way it was not after hours. Then the salon asked "so your still coming?!" Like with a lot of attitude and I'm like "umm yes... we agreed to it." Then when I got there I couldn't find the entrance. I called and the individual at the salon answered the phone all mad, she gave me a lot of attitude and told me "she was doing me a favor". I was thinking "how is this a favor if I am paying?!" Well when they say my hair I was told it would take hours to take it off, should of showed me they didn't know what they were talking about. I got told I had micro fusion. When it's not that at all. So I said thanks but no thanks since I was given another price again. I wrote a review on yelp and the salon called me on my personal number. They apologized and said they would do my hair for free. I told them I took my business elsewhere, and that they were very unprofessional and rude. They told me I needed to delete my review. When I didn't they contacted yelp. This whole trip at this place was a joke. It wasted my time. Never returning there again and I don't recommend it. Read Less

I can not say enough wonderful things about Tiffany.First I called her at 10 am and asked for same day appt since I was leaving town that night.Tiffany right away called on 3 way where I could get good hair(I am not from Oakland)I have very long hair she managed to braid & sew down and feel natural under weave.My weave was installed in about 3 1/2 hours.(Last time I had it done it took 5 hours ).Love Love Love next time I need my hair done I will definitely fly back for Tiffany!!!! I would give less stars if I could. Booked an appt in the am for 330 the same day. I spoke with a live person. At 3pm when I'm parking I get a text they have to cancel and move to tomorrow. I would have been able to book somewhere else in time for my event Friday morning.  Not a great way to make a 1st impression. Read Less

Tiffany is amazing.  I went to her to install tape-in extensions and they look absolutely gorgeous! I purchased my extensions through Roc and Hair as well and Tiffany matched the color and texture of my own hair perfectly. With age, my hair has become really thin and fine, but my tape-in extensions literally look like they are growing right out of my head!  I am more than pleased. On another visit Tiffany gave me a mojito blowout with loose curls which gave my hair a smooth and shiny finish. I'm very happy with the level of service I received. I am so madly in love with my hair extensions!!!! Tiffany was such a pleasure to talk to, and she was extremely talented, I have gotten so many compliments and after I dyed the blondish tips of my natural hair it blended nearly seamlessly with the extensions (which are incredibly soft and easy to style). I've finally found my forever hair salon. I've wasted time, had my scalp burnt, and been in some pretty unclean places to get my hair done. Roc & Hair has NONE OF THAT. This place is so clean and classy. Tiffany listens to what I want and actually follows through. She has never burnt my scalp (very tender scalp so this was priority #1 for me). She's on time to my appointments and considerate of my time; perm, wash, hair cut & style in less then 2 hrs. 100% recommend this hair salon. Thank you Tiffany!!! Read Less

I came to find out about this place through Instagram since I wanted something local. I saw there website and great deals, so I decided to make an appointment ASAP since I was going on vacation. Tiffany was nice to call and ask to see me prior to my appt. She bought the extensions for me and made them blend in so well. As she was doing her magic on my hair we got to know each other and I left a happy gal. This place is gorgeous and so is my hair. Will come back to her each time I need to some wonders to my hair. I finally found the stylist I have been looking for, for ages!  Marina Alvarez is truly a hair artist.  Tiffany (Salon owner) and Marina are very professional, and really know what will work on your hair.  I have worn extensions off an on for a while, but this is the first time that my stylist looked at the condition of my hair and told me which type of extension is best for me.  The entire salon has a very relaxing ambiance, and they make you feel like you are the most important client that they have.  I will definitely be coming back here many many times!
