I love this place for acrylics! Honestly the best looking acrylics I have ever gotten - they always look super natural and just like i naturally have these amazingly long nails. No dreaded "bubble" nails to be found here. They also don't file down your natural nails too much so there is minimal damage unlike some other nail places. Also, the technicians are super nice and efficient. They also offer a student discount - remember to bring cash to receive the discount! Hands down this is one of the best nail salon in Berkeley. Not only do they do nails, they also offer eyelash extensions, facials, and all kinds of waxings. So far I've tried the brazilian wax, bikini wax, and full leg wax. I can honestly say that they're the best when it comes to waxing. They made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process and made it as painless as possible. I would definitely recommend you to get it done with Lee. She's the best! P.S. My pedi was great but the mani went from ok to excruciating when she cut my cuticles off too close on 3 fingers. My thumb wouldn't stop bleeding she had to put some blue liquid on it, didn't tell me what it was but it, of course, stung. I told her it was painful, she said sorry, but later on went on to scrape the same thumb with her fingernail over and over to get the edges straight. Hours later that part of my thumb is still swollen and the other 2 fingers are still stingy, thankfully they didn't bleed or swell too. For $47 it was a poor experience. Read Less

AMAZING nail salon!!!! Le is a ROCKSTAR.....I showed her a picture of what shape I wanted my nails and she nailed it. It was my first time going to this salon and I will never go anywhere else. So I'll go by saying that I've had some pretty mediocre experiences with nail salons. Either they're too rough. Not attentive to detail. Rough as hell. In a hurry. You get the picture. POOR experiences. I was super skeptical with coming here because of the mixed reviews but alas, I was swayed by the outweighing factors. Nearby where I live. Decent rating. Closed 30min before I decided to roll out of bed. DONE. I get there and was greeted within a timely fashion. I get it, I showed up right at closing like THAT guy. Nonetheless, they spewed out gentle instructions. I sat down. Boom. She goes to work but she did something that I haven't had done in SUCH a long time. *dramatic pause**queue tears*She asked HOW I wanted my nails shaped...Instantly I fell in love. And from that point moving forward, the rest of the experience was damn pleasant. No need to state that I WILL be back. I wouldn't even think about going to this nail salon again.I called ahead to make an appointment- on arrival I wasn't even acknowledged by anyone for a good 4 minutes. I mean, they all saw me but just started at me. I eventually asked someone for help- I think it was the manager, she told me i'd have to wait 10 mins- I waited and then she (overly) begrudgingly came and sat me down frowning. She then proceeded to file my nails so aggressively that I had to snatch my hands back several times saying 'you are hurting me', Each time she pulled my hand back and ignored me whilst frowning more. She then said very rudely 'if you want polish off I have to file nail'. I asked if she could do this without making my cuticles bleed. At this point she stomped off saying something to her coworkers.Whilst I was waiting for her to come back, I decided to check out the place on Yelp- just to make sure I hadn't found this place en route to a different nail spa. I placed my phone back on the table and she saw what I was looking at. At this stage it was like she's had a personality transplant, she was referring to me as 'honey' and saying things like 'sorry for hurting you, I always try my best for my customers' etc, really going overboard. She started complimenting me on everything I was wearing etc- it was bizarre and an obvious reaction to her thinking perhaps I was mid writing a bad review about the place.My nails looked OK (apart from the cuticles) but they only lasted 4 days before they ALL started peeling.This place was far from relaxing or pleasant, the customer service is terrible and they're next to a drumming studio and keep the door open so you can hear the loud traffic. I've been going to this establishment for about 6 months now, and I will say I don't think I'll be going anywhere else anytime soon for my acrylic overlay. Li does an AMAZING job with my nails, and it seems she's only gotten better! This place is clean and the ladies are SUPER nice.One last thing, cash is preferred here....they'll take credit/debit, but they do have a sign that says to please tip in cash. Read Less

I am never coming back here. They had me wait an hour with my feet soaking (without informing me the wait would be an hour) in the water before actually starting my nails. Then they left to wax someone in the middle of my pedicure. It took them another HOUR to finish just a normal pedicure. But eventually after 10 min I picked out a color. They keep the gel colors all the way in the back almost hidden. Oh just a heads up this place prefers cash over credit. This is truly a nail pit stop.  While I was there I did notice someone had asked for waxing of the eyebrows; they were sent upstairs... hmmmm so there is an upstairs to this salon; unfortunately I did not view this area.
