Update:I added more oil to my cuticles and got some of the acrylic off and my nails look much better... Pro's:1. I was able to make a last minute appointment; called Saturday, they were able to take me Sunday morning.2. Prices were pretty standard. 3. Pedicure!!! The guy was amazing. Great scrubbing and messaging. 4. Appeared clean5. They made changes when asked... 6. Open on Sunday's. Con's:1. So I got coffin (but not what I went in for, LOL) and myNail tech was heavy on filing down one side and not the other, so they looked crooked and uneven. My tech thought they looked fine and I had to point out to her where they were crooked. I ended up showing the other nail tech (who she was talking to the whole time, see #4) who agreed and helped file them down more evenly. 2. I feel like my nails are "old school acrylic" thick. Like they should have been buffed down more, but I didn't notice this until I was in my Uber. Maybe I should've asked them to make them thin and natural looking... 3. My cuticles and skin under my nails aren't clean... at all... some look crusty with dried acrylic and polish. 4. Almost the entire time I was getting my nails done my nail tech spoke loudly across me to another nail tech.  Like the whole time...  a majority of this time she was looking at her speaking while she was filing my nails... probably why they were crooked and are overly thick...  5. I live in Oakland and drive all the way to San Rafael to get my nails done. My regular nail guy is amazing and definitely worth that drive. But this time I just couldn't make it over there and needed a fill closer to home. I read good reviews about Diane at so I decided to give it a shot. Lisa ended up doing my nails even though I asked for Diane when I made the appointment, but she ended up being great so I was fine with it.I typically like my acrylic super thin (so that it looks like my real nail is growing out of my cuticle, not some thicker acrylic), which is why so far I have only trusted my regular nail guy in San Rafael. I asked Lisa to make the acrylic as thin as possible, and while it is not as thin as I'm used to with my regular guy, it's thin enough that I can't complain. She did a great job with the shape as well as the color.Both Diane and Lisa were very kind in taking my appointment. It was the evening of the finals for the Warriors so business was really slow and if they hadn't taken me, they would have been able to go home early. But they were champs and took the appointment like professionals.I want to see how my nails grow out; and if everything holds its shape and the acrylic doesn't lift abnormally, I will be happy to make this my new nail spot. Overall Experience- The staff is friendly , they offer you tea, water or a glass of wine when you arrive. We came to this nail shop from San Francisco based off of the reviews. Upon entering the shop the music was nice and peaceful. The older technician had a judgmental look on her face which I overlooked. We picked our colors(the place where you pick a color was in a terrible spot we constantly had to move out of the way of the workers coming and going) and went to take a seat. My sister then requested that she wanted to soak for five minutes and the elder woman immediately shook her head and said no no we don't do that here. If another customer comes in you will be in the way. So I give them this rating simply because I don't see why a simple request wasn't honored. We immediately got up to leave. Their overall attitude upon us entering and at our request was rude and negative. We will take our services elsewhere. They are located about 10 minutes from my house and 15 minutes from my job. I called around 1:30 on my lunch break and made a fill appointment for 5:30. They asked for my name, my requested service and confirmed the appointment. Nailstation is located on Broadway between 40th and 41st, on the side of the street going in the direction of 41st. There is street parking available for a parking fee and I found a spot right in front.When I arrived, one client was at the end of her service and the rest of the salon was empty. There are about 5 pedicure chairs in the left side of the salon and 4 manicure desks on the right, all set up shotgun style. I did notice that everything looked clean which I love! They also offer free WiFi. A man greeted me (he was doing the client's nails) and announced me to another nail tech who came out from the back.I didn't catch her name but she was nice and offered me a drink before we sat down to get started. I felt like they were strongly encouraging me to get gel polish which is typical but I wasn't turned off. I checked out their gel color selection and was pretty pleased with the options. I ended up choosing a color changing gel color (#70). I did ask about their design options and even though they were eager to show me the gel colors, they didn't offer to show me designs. I feel that they may have been trying to squeeze me in between appointments. I decided not to press the issue.My tech didn't really make an effort to make small talk but she asked if I'd been there before. She confirmed the shape and style I liked as she worked. I did find her filing techniques very strange. She kind of beat down flat on my nails with the nail file. She didn't cut or over file in any way though. The entire service was literally done within 35 minutes! Even though I was only getting a fill, I still think that was fast. My tech left while my nails were setting to start on another client. My gel fill was $29 before tax. I left feeling very satisfied and positive about my experience! I'd definitely return to this salon. It may be my new go-to. Read Less

My favorite place to relax and get my nails down. They do the best pedicure and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Never any loud customers yelling or the technicians yelling. A bit pricey so I can't go as often as I do but it is worth every penny. Read Less

Nice atmosphere, nice people and an excellent manicure and pedicure! They will give you free coffee/tea/wine while you are getting your nails done. This did take a little longer than some mani/pedi places but for me, that's not a bad thing! The quality is worth it! Read Less
