Just moved to the neighborhood this year and am thrilled to finally have a salon within walking distance that I trust. If you want acrylics, make an appointment ahead of time because not many of the staff like to do acrylic which i've noticed is becoming more common across many salons.I really appreciate the shaping of a nail above all else and I've got to say that between the two technicians that have done my full sets so far... they are real perfectionists! Also, I've gotten used to getting my cuticles sliced open over time but each time I've been here--they have taken so much care to avoid rushing which is usually the culprit when it comes to breaking the skin. Very nice and clean salon. Always accommodating, even for large groups while busy. The price point is really awesome for the quality of service. Some nail techs are friendlier than others but they all do a decent job. Recently I got a full set by Paula, and when I didn't have enough time to stay for her to add color to my nails they had no problem accommodating me another day. Fast service, too. Came in as a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon July 23 I was greeted and asked what services I would be needing very promptly, which is always a plus. I waited long enough to choose my polish colors without a rush knowing how some salons are. The lady who did my pedicure was very nice , detailed and took her time to complete my pedicure. I wish I could say the same for the lady who did my full-set, who came off as rude, complained how my nails were " too little " not only to me but to one of the other workers across from us and ultimately didn't even do a good job on the shape and the longevity of my acrylics which began lifting within a couple days. My friend and I came here around 7pm on a weekday night for a gel manicure and a fill with gel polish. They were nice..until one of the nail techs started showing how irritated she was. My friend picked a gel polish that was supposedly a bad formula, and didn't even tell her until she went over all her nails with multiple coats. And then she said (in Vietnamese) that "it's already late and I have to deal with her." Excuse me? I'm Vietnamese, and I understood everything they were saying, but they did not know that until midway through our sessions. I get that we came an hour before closing, but we called to ask if they had time before we came and they said yes. Anyway, during the time one of the ladies was taking off my gel polish (which seemed like it took an eternity), I asked if they had time for a pedicure (since there was still about 4 other customers in there. And they said yes. They talk A LOT btw. Long story short, my nails were still sticky when I left (I guess the gel wasn't dry yet, they take foreverrrr, and apparently it is our fault the polish formula went bad. Not one complaint about this place! This family run business makes everyone who comes through the door feel like a cousin. Tony and his brother - always greet you with a "Hi Honey, Nice to see you!" They are constantly busy but will find a way to fit you in. Every technician is an expert at painting which is the cherry on top of a great manicure or pedicure. Saturdays are the busiest so I try to go on a Tuesday evening because they're open until 8pm. The shop is nestled in a quiet and quaint Oakland neighborhood so there's no hustle and bustle to deal with but parking can be tricky. If you don't have an appointment, be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes to be seen, but there are plenty of little local shops and restaurants to visit while you wait. And trust me, it's worth it. First time here in a Friday around 1 pm as a walk in. They are very busy, which I waited about 20 mins just for a manicure. For those who like affordable things come here. Hellen was very sweet and very nice, she is well experienced. She has a very soft touch and you know she really cares about her work and your nails. I highly recommend Hellen. They take their time and ask to take a look at the shape of the nails before nail polish. My second time here and will definitely continue to come. I wouldn't return here because the nail tech criticized my color choice in Vietnamese and when I was leaving another tech commented that my shoes weren't designer. If you don't understand Vietnamese, keep going here. But if you do, don't take my word for it but didn't have a pleasant experience. Read Less

It pays to be a regular and to make an appointment!!  Tony is an expert at managing the crowds that flock here. I have never had a bad mani or pedi and several of the women are excellent at handling ingrown toenails. Parking: Is harder to find because it's only street parking so depending on the time of day it may be a little difficult so give yourself a couple extra minutes if you have a reservation.When I walked in it was very crowded inside you can tell it's a popular shop. I went with my sister in law as a gift to her for her birthday and we walked in and were greeted right away by a nice man who told us to go ahead and pick out from swatches in a basket for our color. Walking in it looks a little cluttered im a cosmetologist so I was worried about cleanliness of the pedicure bowls so I passed and wanted to look. She got a pedicure and a full acrylic set, while I got a full acrylic set only. They switched manicurists a lot so I was a little confused on how to tip people when there's 2 or 3 people switching I never know who to give the tip to, that's the only thing that bothered me about this salon.My set was gorgeous with chrome nail accents. I could tell my manicurist hasn't done it before but if it didn't look right I didn't have to tell her she erased it and started from scratch which I appreciate. Someone came to help her and my nails looked great! Not thick at all and I even got a garuentee from the nice man that if the chrome happened to come off or faded too quickly to come back and they'll fix it free of charge. They definitely took care of me and they were fast and efficient when they worked on us my nails lasted a long time. As for the pedicure bowls it wasn't soaked for a full 10-15 minutes with a medical grade cleaner (quats: it's blue in color) and there's no bag lining so I can guess the Jets weren't fully cleaned either I would ask for their cleanup bowl chart since it's mandatory to have a log by state Board before I go into a bowl, but other than that it's a great establishment I will be back Read Less

I came here due to a friend sharing her nail photos on Facebook and decided to trust her judgement and try it out for myself. It was a Saturday around noon and hella crowded. I didn't let that stop me from trying so I asked how long was the wait. A guy in the front, very nice & helpful, said only 10 min. I thought oh hell yes! They had a ton of workers which made the wait not be too bad. Extra gold star for that alone! Before arriving I had browsed the photos on Yelp and saw that they do the chrome nails I had been looking for. I asked if they can do chrome on my natural nails and they said yes. 2 gold stars!!!! I hate when ppl tell me I need to add acrylic. I won't, it's how I keep my nails strong & healthy. I literally only waited 10 min (and enjoyed the small talk with other ladies) and she started on my nails. I love how thorough she cleaned my cuticles, she filed them perfectly. I received the same experience while getting my pedi from another person. Seems like every worker in there knows what they are doing! I couldn't be more happier! My daughter and I had quality time together while I was getting a pedicure and she a pedicure and acrylic nails.  We had an appointment and they told us to pick our colors from the nail polish rack.I like the fact that they carry a variety of colors and they also have Zoya nail polish.  The technician was A-ok and she worked on me for about 30 minutes, but I realized after all was said and done that I did not get a foot and leg massage.  This was my first time here and I didn't realize I didn't get one until the technician who was working on her gave her a foot and leg massage.  By then, my technician was already working on someone else, while I was letting my toenails dry. Got a last minute appointment for a gel manicure here on a Sunday around 3p. The place was packed! Walk-ins were being quoted 45 minute wait times around 430pm. I got a gel French manicure with chrome tips. This ended up running me $40 for the manicure. Not the cheapest manicure, but I've paid around the same before and it didn't include chrome, which was really cool to see them apply. They use a glitter and it pats down to a foil look. Looks like the regular gel mani is $25 so I might just get that and a pedi next time for $50. Overall really happy with the quality of the manicure. Read Less
