There's a reason this hole of a salon is barely staying afloat at three pathetic, measly stars when other area salons are thriving. The customer service is atrocious. Much like someone else mentioned, you get the sense that if you are NOT the clientele they want to serve, they will treat you with such disdain that you really don't want to stay. Their loss because I often tip min. 30%. Yesterday, my mother and I came into the shop: me for a pedi and my mom for a full set. When we walked in Helen (I'm assuming from what I've read on here) barely looked up to greet us. After standing there for a short while, one of the other technicians asked us what we wanted done. When we told her, Helen cut in to say they were booked and could not take us at the moment, all while continuing to file her client's nails, never acknowledging us. Now, that's fine that there are only two of you working and you're busy right now. But rather than just tell us a time to come back, she added, "we can't just stop working on them. They made appointments." What?! Why would you say that? By now I'm angry enough to flash on grumpy Helen, but my mother asks what time. No answer. We ask again. She mumbles a time. After going back and forth to make sure we got it right, my mother asks one more time, "So you want us to come back at one?" "Yes." "And you can take us then?" "Yes." "Okay."Fast forward an hour and we walk in and the place is busier than it was when we left, but there aren't any more technicians than before. We come in and repeat the same process of standing at the door and being ignored. The second technician finally acknowledgesb us and we mention that we're back to which Helen's response was, "we're too busy." When we reminded her that she told us to come back later she replied, "you didn't say you were coming back." AGAIN while not having the guts to look us in the eye. She tries to tell us to wait and i think that's about when Ralph came out. My mother starts asking how long, but I'm over this hack hole in the wall "salon", I tell her I'm done and I walk out, but not before letting Helen and everyone else know about their crap customer service. Now you KNOW it's terrible service when Ralph the owner followed us outside to "hear our side of the story" and then apologizes saying he'll talk to her about her attitude. Turns out she's his girlfriend. Which explains why he was trying to make excuses for her behavior as if we just misunderstood her rudeness as strict concentration. BS. In fact, he alluded to the fact that she doesn't change her attitude because when they lose customers, more always come in so she doesn't see the problem. And THAT my folks, is this place in a nutshell. Our normal place is orchid nails in Los Altos right off el camino, but this one is around the corner from our house so we thought we'd give it a try. Never again. If you want an example of real customer service go to that place. As a matter of fact, Ralph, if you're reading this, the two of you should take a field trip over there so you get an understanding of how to properly welcome people into your place of business and how to accommodate them when you're too busy. It will be enlightening. Avoid like the plague. Read Less
