Usually I am very happy with my visits there.However ,today that was not the case.I went to get mani,pedi and my eyebrows done.My manicure is usually done by Tina or Emily (who are great),however, today it was an older woman who work on station number 3. If you care aboit yourself,please AVOID Her at all costs.First of all ,she soaked my nails in so much gel polish remover ,that it was literally dripping from my nails .Then she asked the girl who was doing my toes what kind of nails I have and how to remove them.Then she proceeded to file my nails so hard, one of them actually broke shortly after leaving the salon. Afterwards, she started putting a gel coat on without completely removing the old one or properly cleaning and preparing my nails. Her own nails are dirty with bits of 100 year old polish on them and signs of fungus infection .What I have as a result : crooked nails , smudged toenails and an eyebrows from which one us longer than the other.I used to spend close to $150 dollars there every month ,not anymore . My favorite nail salon! I've tried a ton in the area and top nails is definitely my go to nail salon.  I've been getting my nails and toes down here for several years.  I love Tammy!!! This is by far the worst pedicure I have received in my 30 something years of being alive. I called to see if they were busy and they said that I can just walk in so I did. I was seated by a one of the lady and a guy did my pedicure. I didn't get their names and this was my first visit and my last. I wanted a white tip French tip with a design. The white tip was sloppy and wasn't filled in solid and the design was poop. I believe they didn't think I wouldn't understand the language that we shared but guess what? I do! When the guy was done with my toes, i was going to comment but he said in Vietnamese to his other co worker that he painted an ugly flower. His other coworker replied in Vietnamese, "Oh, you paint an ugly flower?"  He didn't ask if I like it or if I wanted a certain color. I just wanted to get put out there and not having to listen to them talk behind my back and do anymore crappy job in attempting to fix it which they never offered to fix. They do offer a military discount of 10%. Everything totaled was $35 with 10% off was $31.50 but they told me $32. Hello? 10% off of $35 is $3.50 off of $35 is $31.50. I had to correct to so that they are honoring what they are saying to all customers. I did however tip them because I'm not coming back so bye bye $35 of crappy pedicure. When I first moved to Monterey, I tried a few places in order to find my new go-to nail salon. Though it took me a few months, i am SO thankful i found Top Nails! Great prices, really friendly staff, and my gel nails always last. I have gone at all times of day, any day of the week and I haven't had to wait more that 15 minutes. People are very nice here. Vietnamese owned establishment. Pretty clean. Pretty busy on a Sunday. Walked in, waited about 40mins to get my luxury manicure and luxury pedicure for $60. Added gel manicure to the hands for $10 more. I thought it was a pretty reasonable deal. Luxury service comes with oil massage, sugar scrub and parafin wax (this feels great). Wanted to treat myself to a little something special since I just moved into town. Colors came out beautifully. If you want designs on 2 nails, it's $5, if u want your whole hand depending on complexity it will range from $15-25. One thing I found odd was that there was no foot dryer? Or one that I saw. I ended up messing up one of my toenails that I may return to get fixed. Large tv plays music videos was nice to watch. My manicurist Kim was very pleasant and nice. Very neat work with the nail polish however, I personally don't really like it when my polish doesn't cover the entire nail. Her technique shys away from the edges but perhaps some people like that. I LOVE TOP NAILS!I've been coming to this nail shop on and off for years but they're definitely keeping me now! I've tried other places in the area and I can honestly say this is the best place to go. Their shop always smells clean and fresh, not like chemicals. Each person that works there has done my nails at least once and i trust all of them to get my stiletto shape perfect and they do it as sharp as I want! Their whole staff are pleasant people. I'm very indecisive about picking a color and they let me take my time and help me pick colors and designs. The picture is of my nails I just got done yesterday by Tammy and I'm in love. One of the reasons I love going there is because they always stay up to date on nail design trends so if I see it on Pinterest I know they can do it for me! Very good pedicure with reasonable prices! I got the luxury spa pedicure with included the regular pedicure, polish, callus removal, scrub and wax all for $40!!!! My polish came out flawless. I did have to wait for about 15 minutes in the pedicure chair since there were only 3 people working. Also they could cut the nail files, buffers and callus scrubbers so each customer uses their own. Some places do this which I prefer because I don't like when they use the same one on every person.Read Less

I've been here twice, and while the service is top notch, the prices on the site might be different from what they actually charge. I've gotten fill ins at each visit (site says $19 for regular fill in) and the first time the guy who worked on my nails charged me $28 and I figured it was because he had to fix my nails from the last salon I went to. I just went for another fill and was charged $30. I didn't say anything, though I should have. I've checked the website twice now, its as though they charged me for a glitter fill in, but I never git glitter. I can't really justify $30 every 2 weeks for a fill in, so I'll probably be finding another nail place. But for those who can afford it, they do great work! The younger guy needs more training. Waste of $40 for a mani pedi. It was super uncomfortable and I'm going straight home to take the crapy polish off. I still can't believe I tipped. Not to mention he was rude by going on his phone texting while I'm waiting. I forgot to add, that the towel he had for me was used! The best of the Top Nails chain. They do incredible work for very good prices. This is usually my go to spot but sometimes i have gone other places if they seem busy. I always regret when I go to another walk-in nail salon because my standards are so high now. Top nails takes the time to clean your nails and cuticles making sure everything looks nice before painting your nails. Everywhere else I have gone pays almost no attention to that and goes right to painting. My gel nails here always last  two  weeks of not more, with my job my hands are submerged in warm water a lot too. Will continue to come back here every time! Read Less

The wait was longer than I expected even though I made an appointment for three people. Someone else was given a spot in front of us even though she came later..I got the mani/pedi set and I cannot believe they used the same towel where they left my nailclippings to wipe my legs after the massage! I also think my nails could've used another layer and their polish may have been older because after I left there were bubbles on the nail? I called an made an appointment for 9:00 am the following day. When I arrived, I saw that I hadn't needed to call, but they were expecting me and ready as soon as I got there. A mani/pedi with gel and paraffin and everything took about 1.5 hours and cost $100. I hadn't had my nails done since August. Im very happy with how it all turned out. The salon is spotlessly clean, every employee there is friendly and does a great job on your nails, and it's relatively easy to park right in front. Hands down BEST mani pedi in the city. I've been trying out new places for the past two years and up until now, I was never 100% satisfied. The place is brand new, very clean and cozy.
