Honestly I don’t even know if they deserve this one star I’ve given them, they were completely rude and charged extra for items the nails are suppose to come with. They had talked about my situation to the other customers and that is very disrespectful. Charging me an extra $20 for the fact that it “took a long time”. May I add this is their job, what they do for a living however, they complain about the time needed to provide me with a complete product. Extremely unprofessional, they gave me an infection and I lost my toe nail because of them. Be careful with this salon! They are rude and do not sanitize their tools!edit: yeah I'm pretty sure I know what salon I went to, and yeah it should be posted because I lost my fucking toe nail. Your business should be ruined if you cause someone's toe nail to fall off and take no ownership of it. How about you learn from your mistakes and improve, instead of attacking reviewers online. Made a yelp account to complain. My boyfriend wanted a Brazilian wax for his birthday, so I called and asked specifically "do you do Brazilian waxes for men?" At least 3 times, to make sure. He said yes every time. Made the appointment with my boyfriend's name, so there would be no confusion. Confirmed the appointment time Over the phone 3 times as well, but when we got there he said we were "15 minutes early". Ended up waiting for half an hour. At the end of all that the girl takes us back and says she doesn't do men. I told her that over the phone they told me multiple times that they do offer that service, and she rudely just said "no," acted like it was my fault. Huge waste of time, and money, since we had to uber there. I know many people aren't looking for a men's Brazilian wax, but regardless, it was bad communication and bad service. Read Less

If you get the male owner, you're golden. He's great at what he does. I got a pedicure 2 weeks ago, and the girl got paint all on my skin. Then I go in there two days ago for a refill on my nails for my graduation party, and another male does my nails. They are lumpy, not straight, not coffin-cut, and uneven in length. I was in a rush, and didn't realize when I was in the salon the issues, but later I did, and didn't have time to have them fix it before my party. For almost 40 bucks when you include tip, it's just not worth it if u don't get the male owner. Read Less

My favorite nail salon in all of Monterey! Tony is hilarious, kind, and has such great customer service. The salon was very clean, had a diffuser, and great music. This salon was just ok. For $35 for a basic pedicure, expected a bit more. I was a walk in, and they were able to get me in right away  . However, he didn't take off all the old nail polish and I paid $5 for callous removal and that wasn't really done well. Read Less

Compared to other salons in the area (and i've been to many) it seemed to be cleaner and definitely more relaxing. I really liked that I received my mani & pedi at the same time, they also were able to take me with 5 minutes notice which was also very nice, I must have picked a good time to come in. Can't comment on their mani or pedi, but the lash extensions is a complete joke. The experience was infuriating: the esthetician's two children (aged 5 and 9) kept barging into the room and crying for attention, and she did little to stop them. The esthetician was not careful and pulled my eyelashes really hard a few times, which really hurts. She kept complaining that my lashes are too fine that's why they are getting stuck together. As if it was MY FAULT. And that's NOT A THING - if she is properly trained, or if she even got extensions herself before, she would know that when done correctly, lashes do not get glued together, fine or not. I could tolerate all of this if the results were even acceptable, it was not. There were visible glue on top of the lashes. The false lashes were half way down my real lashes, nowhere near the roots. It looked embarrassingly bad. I had to wear mascara to cover up the messy glue. I had to pick off and trim a few lashes to even look like a normal human, and not a monster with crushed spiders for eyes. It was really irresponsible for Nail iT to offer this service when they have no knowledge of how it is done properly. I don't want to imagine what other irresponsible things they are doing. Love Tony and his wife and the entire staff at both locations. They do great work and I've been coming for years. They sometimes have a hard time with their timing but they do such good work they are always busy, I completely understand it's hard to gage exactly how long each appointment will take. Ive waited a few times but think it's totally worth it. If you're in a hurry be precise on the phone about your time slot, they will help you out! Nobody is perfect and if you're in that much of a hurry you probably should pick a time you can relax and enjoy their fun environment anyway :) Read Less

I love this place. Appointments are easy to get and walk in welcomed. Pricing is the best around. It's got that personal touch unlike the big one in our local mall that makes you feel like a fish in a fish bowl and quick turn around.I was able to have both my ped with Mitzi and mani by Bailea at the same time. Fun conversation and both like a full massage with great results. I highly recommend this place and love the fact that they make the foot water in fresh plastic covers to avoid infections. Read Less

I have never had a gel manicure before but the lovely gals here gave me such a lovely experience I will be making visits there as a part of my beauty routine. Very clean, massage chairs are AMAZING, and the staff are all very sweet and didn't male fun of me for not knowing what to do seeing as I hadn't had the opportunity to get a manicure/pedicure in many years. I'm picky and was skeptical about having my nails done while out of town but I found this hidden gem. Welcoming atmosphere, relaxing, clean and we'll managed. Bailea did an amazing job on my nails. She took her time to find out my preferences and came full circle to my expectations. Stimulating conversation that wasn't intrusive or annoying. I'm very satisfied. Thank you Bailea!!! These people were very unprofessional as we got a pedicure. They were taking about drinking, sleeping with people, his wife and his rules, partying - they were sexist...it was very uncomfortable. My girlfriend has a tattoo in Chinese and he even questioned her!  She had it checked before and after, but he was such a douche about it (sorry for my blunt language). He then gave up and claims, "Ok, I just wanted to check." Seriously?! They were so distracted that they didn't massage her legs as long and messed up her nails and had to fix it. Do NOT go here! Staff is nice but Nail It didn't quite Nail It for me . I had hopes after a colleague referred me to this nail salon.  My gel polish started melting off after the first day .  I have never had a gel polish manicure do this before from my previous nail salon that I loved in the Central Valley so I know this isn't something that is a normal occurrence .  Very disappointed .  I really was hoping to find a good nail salon.  I am not sure if the nail technician just missed a step or what the problem was but I won't be returning .  The tables also didn't look that clean . Called around 2:15 and asked how long the wait was for two walk ins. The woman on the phone said they couldn't take us in until 3 so we said "ok we'll come at 3." Waited until exactly 2:50 in our car and walked 10 mins from the lot since we were out of town and visiting. Walked in to find the place busy and a male worker greeted us. We told him we'd called at around 2 and had been told to come in at 3 - so here we were. The guy told us they were busy until 4 and that we weren't on the books. Then he said he'd get back to us in 5 minutes and proceeded to continue working and awkwardly glancing at us but did not get back to us until we got fed up and left.I'll give you guys 2 stars for (I assume) doing a good job based on the other reviews but this was a waste of my time experience with extremely disappointing and sad service. The techs are 7 or 8 out of 10.I've been here twice. Both times were better than average, but I've had better techs in other cities. Tony is great, very skilled. He put on 2 acrylics for my broken nails and he was on point.His wife also works here and she's super friendly.Prices are a little higher, but it just comes with the territory honestly.Shellac +2 acrylics + design=$39It took awhile since my tech didn't really get my idea, wasn't too skilled with design (and told me her differing opinions of my design idea the whole time).The same tech did my pedicure $25. The bonus was the massage part.That being said, I think I'll request Tony or his wife if/when I come back. Read Less
