Went to return a $200 ring I purchased a week ago, spoke with Jasmin the cashier who claimed to be the assistant manager, she said they couldn't refund the money because the manager wasn't there and it's their policy. I asked her for the store policy but she said she didn't have it or know but it was to her understanding that they couldn't refund money because it was to much money and needed manager approval. We waited for about an hour while they went back and forth with other employees and still said no to come back another day when the manager was at the store. The ring was new and we had the receipt, I don't understand why you need managers approval on $200 purchase.  Terrible customer service, they need to re train their employees Read Less

This place sucks. There's like two cashier areas.....one is always deserted so everybody is standing at the other one- huge line. Sick of shopping here, nothing good.  Customer service sucks.

It's after Christmas sales. You're trying to welcome customers in for the sales yet you under staff. If you want the people's money then how about you actually get some employees instead of making them wait 30-40 min for returns, and only having 1 customer service register open.  This is such a big disappointment. I won't be spending any more money here and I do NOT think anyone else should as well. If you are looking at the pictures you can see where the register is and you can see my place in line that I have been standing for the past 25 minutes. Read Less

Selection is fantastic for the economical shopper. They are packed to the rafters with inventory! It is just too bad they don't have staff to help you bring down items from the top shelf or offer any type of assistance. The store is full of customers calling out " Hello, can someone help me?"  "Where are the sales people?'"  "where can I find this?" But there is no one to hear them.      And then there is the cash register, one station on each floor to handle the Holiday rush... don't go on your lunch hour cuz your gonna be very late getting back to work..... My experience was that I only got a fraction of the things I needed because the cashier line was gonna take longer than my selection process...... Read Less

YES BUT THE BARGAINS....are mindblowing.Sometimes the store is in disarray. Sometimes the checkouts are closed. Sometimes dressing rooms are closed. Mostly, the price checkers are nonoperational. BUT clothes here are on trend, and the sizes range (you can find wide-calf boots here)...I always find something to mix and match with my expensive designer items. In other words, the price can be amazing if you use coupons, especially the $10 ones, those 20 percent off discounts...and the rewards program is aptly named. FOR EXAMPLE --Yesterday, I was in the store at the MONTEBELLO MALL and found a powder blue Rossetti handbag retailing at $49.00, but at the register, it was on sale for $11...and with a $10 mailer coupon...I paid $1.02 cents for a lovely blue across-the-body handbag.I bought Bisou Bisou blouses at the JC PENNEY WESTFIELD location for $6. I couldn't believe it. I know these summer items need to make way for fall, so beautiful name-brand clothes at bargain basement prices. Whoever are the buyers for JPPenney, kudos! They have good taste ....and while a lot has gone down in terms of customer service and convenience...I have to admit it's not the old ladyish stodgy clothes of yesterday.... the style/quality of the clothes and craftsmanship of the clothes AND costume jewelry get more compliments than my high-end designer duds! BIG PLUS sales associates here are friendly and nice, and doing their level best, but clearly they are understaffed. Some tell-tale gasping signs that not all is right here at the Montebello location, with all the fitting room and cashier station closures. and the messiness...but hello, bargains! Read Less

Recieved a call from JCPenney that my order was ready to be picked up. Came right when it open (10:00 AM) and there was literally no one around to help. When an employee finally showed it, it took them another 1 and 30 minutes to find my package. They claimed whoever sorted it didn't place it in the correct spot. HORRIBLE AND RUDE EMPLOYEES. They need to hire a new staff or at least hire some more. By the time I left, there was a big line forming in the area where you pick up online orders (7+) and there was only one person getting the orders and then finding them in the storage room. If I knew it would take so long, I would go back there myself. NEVER picking up my online orders from this location and NEVER coming back here again. Read Less

The representative who picked up my call was not helpful at all. I am simply making a call to verify that my order ready for pick up contains all the items I ordered as to not waste my time. This representative did not want to help me, this establishment is completely un-professional and does not care for its customers by employing individuals who have a lack of respect towards customers---I won't be purchasing items from JCpenny again. Never enough registers open and the place is usually a disaster. The racks are messy and packed. The only thing that was really annoying is that when I go to checkout, the lady at the register while talking to her coworkers doesn't even acknowledge me with eye contact or any words and after charging me continues her conversation with her coworkers. I might as well have checked out myself like one does at a self-checkout at a supermarket. It was so weird, and also kinda funny. Don't even bother buying online unless u know the item will fit 100 percent! It takes more than a week or more to recieve item even with fast shipping!! Ps. The facility is somewhere where the weather can be a issue for shipping!!! The return is confusing, you take your item to the store, get a refund that take days, and then you pay again for the same item that day. I ended up paying more for the same item, because the price went up during the time i bought it and returned it. Why couldn't it be the same freaking price? They will ship to the store and not to your house, so you have to go pick it up and make yet another visit to the store. Now i get why they are closing. Honestly what a hassle for 1 item!! Read Less

This review is for the salon. I had Salina as a stylist. First showing up I was confused because the door said closed. Turns out the power went out and so they pushed my appointment back. Salina took me in right away. We had a great sit down talking about the color I wanted and cut that would fit. It took a while but the color cane out amazing and Salina was amazing with making sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. If not for the power outage this would be one of the best hair appointments I've ever had. I can't wait to come back and work with Salina again for my retouch!!! Read Less

Nice mixture and I smell like new.I like JCP, but what I don't like is their online site that says that they have the item in stock and it's no longer being sold, but the site still says it's at the store.Aside from that, the people that work here are generally nice, and they do have a nice men's selection of clothes at reasonable prices.I often wonder if they raise the prices in order to give you the high discounts. This JCPenney is located at The Shops at Montebello (formally the Montebello Town Center), specifically near the BJ's restaurant. I came by here last Wednesday looking to use my $10 coupon ($10 off a $10 or more purchase) on maybe a pair of denim jeans. This JCPenney is 2 floors. The first floor is women clothing, women shoes and housewares. On the 2nd floor is men clothing, children clothing and shoes. I thought the layout of this JCPenney just seemed a little different from other JCPenney stores that I have been to, so I had a little trouble looking for items that I was wanted to get (I am truly a creature of habit and am a fan of consistency). Upon my visit, there was this 65-85% off clearance section throughout the store, probably trying to get rid of the winter and fall items for more room for summer wear. The sales associate who rang up my purchase was nice. I was lucky to find the register that I went to with no line (although there was another register with a long line... it pays to walk around to find a shorter one). All in all, had an A-Okay experience and would come back here again in case I was in the area. Read Less

FOR EXAMPLE --Yesterday, I was in the store at the MONTEBELLO MALL and found a powder blue Rossetti handbag retailing at $49.00, but at the register, it was on sale for $11...and with a $10 mailer coupon...I paid $1.02 cents for a lovely blue across-the-body handbag.I bought Bisou Bisou blouses at the JC PENNEY WESTFIELD location for $6. I couldn't believe it. I know these summer items need to make way for fall, so beautiful name-brand clothes at bargain basement prices. Whoever are the buyers for JPPenney, kudos! They have good taste ....and while a lot has gone down in terms of customer service and convenience...I have to admit it's not the old ladyish stodgy clothes of yesterday.... the style/quality of the clothes and craftsmanship of the clothes AND costume jewelry get more compliments than my high-end designer duds! BIG PLUS sales associates here are friendly and nice, and doing their level best, but clearly they are understaffed. Some tell-tale gasping signs that not all is right here at the Montebello location, with all the fitting room and cashier station closures. and the messiness...but hello, bargains! Read Less

When an employee finally showed it, it took them another 1 and 30 minutes to find my package. They claimed whoever sorted it didn't place it in the correct spot. HORRIBLE AND RUDE EMPLOYEES. They need to hire a new staff or at least hire some more. By the time I left, there was a big line forming in the area where you pick up online orders (7+) and there was only one person getting the orders and then finding them in the storage room. If I knew it would take so long, I would go back there myself. NEVER picking up my online orders from this location and NEVER coming back here again. Read Less

Never enough registers open and the place is usually a disaster. The racks are messy and packed. The only thing that was really annoying is that when I go to checkout, the lady at the register while talking to her coworkers doesn't even acknowledge me with eye contact or any words and after charging me continues her conversation with her coworkers. I might as well have checked out myself like one does at a self-checkout at a supermarket. It was so weird, and also kinda funny. Don't even bother buying online unless u know the item will fit 100 percent! It takes more than a week or more to recieve item even with fast shipping!! Ps. The facility is somewhere where the weather can be a issue for shipping!!! The return is confusing, you take your item to the store, get a refund that take days, and then you pay again for the same item that day. I ended up paying more for the same item, because the price went up during the time i bought it and returned it. Why couldn't it be the same freaking price? They will ship to the store and not to your house, so you have to go pick it up and make yet another visit to the store. Now i get why they are closing. Honestly what a hassle for 1 item!! Read Less

This review is for the salon. I had Salina as a stylist. First showing up I was confused because the door said closed. Turns out the power went out and so they pushed my appointment back. Salina took me in right away. We had a great sit down talking about the color I wanted and cut that would fit. It took a while but the color cane out amazing and Salina was amazing with making sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. If not for the power outage this would be one of the best hair appointments I've ever had. I can't wait to come back and work with Salina again for my retouch!!! Read Less

This JCPenney is located at The Shops at Montebello (formally the Montebello Town Center), specifically near the BJ's restaurant. I came by here last Wednesday looking to use my $10 coupon ($10 off a $10 or more purchase) on maybe a pair of denim jeans. This JCPenney is 2 floors. The first floor is women clothing, women shoes and housewares. On the 2nd floor is men clothing, children clothing and shoes. I thought the layout of this JCPenney just seemed a little different from other JCPenney stores that I have been to, so I had a little trouble looking for items that I was wanted to get (I am truly a creature of habit and am a fan of consistency). Upon my visit, there was this 65-85% off clearance section throughout the store, probably trying to get rid of the winter and fall items for more room for summer wear. The sales associate who rang up my purchase was nice. I was lucky to find the register that I went to with no line (although there was another register with a long line... it pays to walk around to find a shorter one). All in all, had an A-Okay experience and would come back here again in case I was in the area. Read Less
