My favorite nail place! I found this place a couple of years ago and continue to go here every couple of weeks even though I reside in Merced now. Leann is amazing and all the other staff is as well. The place is clean and professional and they are prompt with taking walk ins and keeping your scheduled appointments as well. They have a great selection of colors for the shellac/gel polish so if you can’t find a color it is only because you can’t choose just one. The prices are great and the service is amazing! Terrible service!! I was here yesterday (my original place was closed for the holiday) and won't be coming back. The guy at the front had a nasty attitude both times that I spoke with him. I was there getting a full set as well as my daughter's and right as the lady put on the nails (before the acrylic) the guy at the front asked me to get out of my chair for another lady (old white lady) which I read on another review he does this a lot. He said he forgot to add her appointment to the schedule. I think he should have offered her or myself something for his mistake, that's what you call good customer service. I really love this place they have two locations in Modesto. They are always very polite and often can get you right in even on a walk-in basis. You have to pick your times carefully. This is a busy salon. I requested specific technicians in my online appointment request but didn't get them. So if you have specific people in mind then make sure you get them. They take walk ins.The person that did my manicure was nice. With so many thick coats: bottom coat, 2x polish, and top coat, I got an obvious ripple in the polish on my left hand at the end of the manicure. Then I got two chips on other nails the next day. The person who did my pedicure noticed that my manicure was a bit messy and was nice enough to clean up the sides of the nails with acetone.Both technicians were very sweet, but when I splurge on a mani/pedi I want perfection. Nail places always try to convince me to do fake nails/gel nails, but I prefer natural nails. *******ATTENTION******* Where should start... well 1st off there's NO WAY I wouldEVER give this place a star but yelp gave me no chose!   I have known these people who own this place and their family for over 12 + years and I have been a loyal customer to their businesses! They've had a few nail shops and every time they move, I continue to follow them. Not only have I been going there for 12+ years but I have also recommended family and friends to do so also!  I got my nails done three days ago and I went in there around 630pm knowing they close at seven but they told me it was fine to get a full set and get my toes done. I got my nails done by Charles but was unable to get my toes done which I was fine with that because I did not want to keep them working all night and I let them know that I would come back the next with my sister who needed a manicure and pedicure and myself a pedicure. The next day my full set of shellac started to chip so when I went in today and I let Charles know that my shellac chipped and I would like for him to fix it. He told me it was fine and after I got done with my pedicure he would start working on me. After my pedicure I went to his chair and he basically told me that it's my fault because I "pick" at my nails which I don't pick at  nails and I tried to explain that to him but he did not want to listen. He told me that it's not fair that he's taking his time to fix my nails. I let him know all I wanted were my nails fixed, because I just got them done and paid $50 for them. He continued blaming me and I just kept quiet. After Charles removed my nail polish off my nails I looked at my nails and I noticed my nails were lifting. I just decided to show him that my nails are lifting and I asked him do you think my shellac chipped because my nails were lifting? Charles got very upset with me and threw his machine on the ground and told me I am so sick and tired of you, I don't want to work on you anymore, you're too picky, you're too much and you ask for to much! I was in shock and I was humiliated in front of other customers. He then told me to go to the front desk and get my money back for my nails because he is completely done with me and never wants me to come back! I got up and went to the front desk to go pay for the service that was done for my sister and I. The owner asked me what had happened between Charles and I? I was trying to explain to him what had happened but Charles came behind me and grab me by my arm and told me to come back to his desk so he can cut my nails off. At this point I was completely scared due to him grabbing my arm and I was so embarrassed because there were so many people around. I responded to him and said no leave me alone and he continued to holler and cuss at me in front of everybody. This was so bad that his family members had to hold him back. Not sure what his plan was but I felt in danger so I grabbed my money and my sister and run out! Charles and another employee continued to chase me and my sister and continued to curse at us. At this point I told him just to call the cops. I wanted nothing else to do with him because I'm not sure what his intentions were. He was beyond angry he even pushed his sister to the ground while she was holding him back! I couldn't believe this was happening. The words he was saying to me and the names he was calling me are inappropriate, greeting,disrespectful, and embarrassing!   I will never ever in my life go back to this place nor will I ever go back to any of his family members nail salons! I hope this never happens to any other woman! If you have young teenager girls make sure not to send them in there by themselves! Not only did my nails chip but the employees there cannot be trusted. For a $20 pedicure this place is pretty solid. I don't understand either the very negative or very positive reviews here, although I can see how the nail tech you get could push a "totally fine" experience towards excellent or not so great. Based on my experience....Pros: Efficient, well done pedicure for $20. Granted I live in Chicago so my pricing scale is relative, but this is a pretty amazing deal in my book. Also great massage chairs! Better quality than most. My back muscles were really sore from the gym and afterwards I felt SO much better. Super easy and convenient online booking. Cons: Polish selection wasn't in any sort of order (color, brand, etc) which made it difficult to sort through. Like other reviewers mentioned, I felt a bit rushed which seemed unnecessary given that it was a random weekday afternoon and the place wasn't busy.Overall I will definitely go back and see whoever if my end game is only to have my feet to look better. If I want a luxury experience I'll either pay more for the longer/better service option and/or do more research on which techs have the best reviews. Read Less

Helen is my gal! She gives a great shellac mani that doesn't chip or peel like some end up doing. She also is excellent at eyebrows -- threading or waxing. I had my 2nd visit for a pedicure today w/Kim(first time with her) and i have to say i enjoyed it! I recently relocated from the bay and of course in my mind nothing tops my regular nail salon but this place does a pretty good job. The water was originally to cool but i mentioned it and she fixed it ..NO PROBLEM. i have read some of the negative reviews and if i looked at my old salons yelp it would probably say the same thing. i really enjoyed coming here when i lived in modesto. it was my go-to nail place. they were nice, helpful and overall i had a good time. i looovveee the hot rocks they put on your legs (& the massage) when you get the pedi but when the guy did it (never got his name) the rocks were BURNING. my bestfriend said the same when i brought her and she had the guy do her pedi also. i always get a acrylic french tip for the mani and pedi i also do a french tip. never did i once feel like they were rude or unhelpful. they had pretty decent hospitality. they didnt speak very good english though so they were kind of hard to understand... but other than that i am a very happy customer! it's going to be difficult trying to find a nail place as good as this one! keep up the good work!! Took my fiance and daughters here to get their nails done for my fiances birthday. I don't know much about nail polish but my kids nail polish came off after just over an hour. This was probably one of THEE quickest pedis I've ever had! 20 minutes later, and my clear coat was already being applied. My massage probably lasted a good 2 mins, for BOTH legs! NT Nails has really taken a nosedive since they opened years ago. It seems to just be all about gaining clientele and shoving them out the door as soon as possible- not relaxing or welcoming whatsoever! The lady who even worked on my toes pushed my foot back into the water, saying that my foot needed to stay in there. Okay, well, the water was cold lady! While my sister and I were paying, the gentleman at the front desk told us to wait and disappeared outside. He caught up to two African American gals that had finished their pedicures and was asking them for payment... WHEN THEY HAD ALREADY PAID! A little racist/stereotypical if you ask me! I told the guy I wanted my nails rounded and he did more square. When he was filing my nails and using the dremrol, he made my skin bleed in a few spots. When you leave the shop your nails are supposed to be dry. I walked out to my car and noticed the polish messed up. So I rescheduled to get my nails fixed. Same thing. Prior to going in to the shop I called and ask for pricing on a single eyebrow wax. My eyebrows are horrible right now. It is a very nice day after all the rain storms, so i decided to walk to NT Nails its about .6 miles. I also took my one year old son since he hasn't been getting out much these days. I finally get there and ask for a eyebrow waxing and they tell me to come back and that they were busy. I saw a girl in the back sitting there, but I didn't say anything and walked out. I know it's not there fault I walked there with my son, but it was a simple waxing. I could of waited for someone to be available. Also, $12 for eyebrow waxing is a bit much. I can go to the mall and get my eyebrows threaded at Ziba (southern CA) for $15.  Last year I also came and asked for the spa pedicure and the massage I was supposed to receive was horrible. I came over Christmas break to get my nails done here, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I asked for a shellac matte nail with a glossy tip. They've never done anything like that before, so they took their time talking among themselves, and figured it out! It came out phenomenal!
