I rarely write negative reviews but reading all these negative reviews there is the truth- so my daughter went on her own to get her brows waxed before a weekend get away for herself, and the gal asked her "what's wrong you have so many wrinkles?" Are you kidding me she's 20 years old! That's so rude to say to anybody ! What a terrible "bed side " manner and to think she has hot wax in her hands . Ugh crappy service and place. DONT go there . The things we do life ourselves eg:  nails and wax or hair are treats for us and she or anybody should ever walkaway feeling like crud. $1 tip was way overpaying but whatever! Read Less

I don't typically leave negative reviews, however I had such an unusually bad experience at Happy Nails Ladera Ranch that I felt like I needed to speak up.I took my daughter for a Mommy and Me mani/pedi before leaving on our vacation last Monday. The technician who did my pedicure left nail polish in several places on my toes, and I had to point them out to her before she decided to fix it. The technician who did my gel manicure left a lot of room between my cuticle  and the polish ( which I didn't notice until he was done ). It looked as if I was at least one to two weeks into my manicure ( regrowth ). Had I been by myself I would've said something and had them redo it, but since I didn't want my four year old to wait for me, we just left.Fast forward one week, and my gel manicure is chipped in several places, specifically at the cuticle. We flew back this morning and I stopped by the Happy Nails this afternoon to have them fix it. The manager accused me of lying about when my manicure was done, saying that there was too much regrowth for it to only be a week. I ended up having to show her my Facebook check-in from last Monday to prove I had been there. I showed her a photo of my nails the day it was done so she could see what it looked like originally. She then agreed to redo the gel manicure, but spent several minutes chastising me for not coming back sooner. I explained that I've been out of town since last Monday afternoon, which she didn't seem to care about. I was appalled that I had to explain myself and prove when I had been there, especially because they should have record of us being there.Additionally, the facility is quite unkept and dirty. The walls have stains, nail polish splatters, and dings/scratches. Several light bulbs need replacing, and the furniture has definitely seen better days. The things you notice when your nail technician is begrudgingly, silently, redoing your manicure.It's safe to say that I will not be visiting this facility again. Read Less

Worst nail experience of my life. I did their so called "dipping powder" two hours after and all my nails have bubbles in them. All of my cuticles are stained red from the dipping powder, even though I paid an extra $5 to have my cuticles cut. $40 later and horrible nails. Terrible customer service!!!! I have been going To this location for 3 years now and never had been treated so terrible. My daughter had gone there to get her nails done and they said her card got declined, when I checked our account they clearly took the money out.( she is 13) She paid cash to settle the transaction and then checked her account to assure she had money in her account. They indeed took the money out of her account. When I went down there to talk to the lady, she acted as if she didn't understand English when I was trying to explain the situation to her. The co owners "brother" Nick assured me it would get taken care of in the morning when the manager came in that handled all transactions and cash. I then called the manager first thing in the morning and he immediately just said there's as no transaction of her payment. So I went down there to show my bank records, and automatically he was on defense mode as soon as I walked into the building. I showed him my phone with the payment out and he proceeded to tell me his closing statements show nothing. Mind you he was very rude and nasty towards me. Even telling he doesn't care what my phone says that we actually paid for the service. When he called the bank and gave them the card number, the did end up finding the transaction. They said they went exactly sure what was going on but it did get an authorization number but it will take 7-10 days to get my money back. I've worked in retail for 15 years and I get situations will happen but the manager was very very rude and had no respect for customers. All he had to do is explain the situation nicely and I would have been underatamding. On average between my daughter and I, we spend about $150 there a month. I will never go to happy nails in general because how terrible this guys treated me. His name is DO, such a rude individual and does not need to be in any type of customer service or any job that relates to interacting with people in general because he has terrible social skills. Had the worst fake manicure ever at this fleabag place today. If you can get past the filthy dirty floors and actually make it into a chair beware. The chic behind the butcher knife cut me once and I forgave, she cut me again and I tried to call off the manicure. She grabbed my hand and tried to dump glue on it and I told her to back off. The other girl finished up my pedicure and talk me my bill was $90! I paid and let the dude behind the cash register know she cut me but he acted like he didn't understand while the other ladies danced around me waving the menu and a calculator at me. I'm curious to see why placed like this stay open in Ladera while our other legitimate people serving businesses have to close because of Westarrs selfish ways.  Ladera, we have to take a stand and close down these crappy nail places and support legitimate businesses. I have been to several Happy Nails locations and by far this location in Ladera Ranch is the BEST!  Lisa has done my nails several times now, and she is wonderful! I was very disappointed in my nail technician. She was very rude and seemed to not care about me or my nails. She stopped right in the middle of my service to go wax someone that just walked in. That's rude. Finish the service you are working on before you start someone else. She seemed like she was in a rush and didn't care, she cut my cuticles to close and made my finger bleed. When we finished I asked her to put a top coat on and she stood up and said I don't need one because she buffed them and they were already shiny. I asked her again can I please just have the top coat just because and again she said "no honey you don't need". I don't care if I don't "need" I would like it and asked for it. So instead of causing a scene I just said okay and stood up and walked to the front to pay. I went to the front and paid and left a nice tip for her, just because she did the service and i believe you should always tip someone for doing a service for you. But please believe I will not be back to see her again. Overall I didn't enjoy my time at this salon. My nail technician was Nancy, I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Read Less

I was skeptical of this place but since my usual nail salon was so busy I decided to give it a try. It was somewhat busy but despite this they sat me right away. I asked the lady before she started what the cost would be and she said $50 (gel mani/reg pedi). A bit pricey if you ask me but in the end it was worth it! Paid someone to destroy my nails...I literally just set up this Yelp account to write a review for this place, that's how horrible my experience was! Went in for a mani appointment yesterday to take off gel and do a simple nail polish. This technician barely acknowledged me and:1. Rushingly/ Incorrectly removed gel polish (placed hands in hot acetone and scrapped/buffed nail until paper thin). I had to ask her to stop buffing because she was starting to reach skin! My nails are raw while typing this. 2.  Never filed or shaped nails as requested. Barely cleaned up cuticles and forgot some fingers! 3. Placed my credit card on table so I wouldn't have to reach into wallet with wet nails and instead of communicating to me how much or even when she was going to charge it she just snatched it and ran it in middle of manicure. I've never in my life been the kind of customer that complains but felt like the whole time I had to tell her or remind her to do certain things. Absolutely terrible and now I'm just going to re-do them myself. Don't know how she is still employed there or how this location is even in business with this kind of customer service. Let me just say that I have never felt the need to write a negative review for anywhere until now. I went today and because of a medical condition I can only get one hand done. I have never had this be a problem before. Today I was charged $30 FOR ONE HAND!! And she filed/cut my nails so short that my hands are now all cut up. Trish always looks after me really well! Compared to other places I've been to over the last ten years of having acrylics mine have always lasted much longer from happy nails. They are smoothed to my nails a lot better so no lift as my nails grow. They are perfect thickness and have never cracked on me! So happy with the service! Read Less

I am a first time customer to this location and got ripped off and will not be going back. They advertise a $29 mani/pedi Mon-Th. They showed me a placard half way through for more services. I pointed to the $35 cheapest mani/pedi and asked if that was $29, they said yes, it's Tue. When I checked out they charged me $50! They said I got charged extra for paraffin wax. I told them I never asked for it. They then said that they do it unless I don't ask for it. What??? Since when do I have to tell the manicurist that I don't want callus removed or eyebrows waxed or flower or paraffin wax? So, at this business you have to tell them everything you don't want or they'll do it and charge you. Horrible! Only giving one star for the massage chair.  I received a pedicure from a disinterested and rude lady.  She practically fell asleep during the massage which was a waste of time.  She didn't even massage my feet.   Not to mention that I had been in here a year ago for an eyebrow wax which left the area above my eyelid droopy.  Now instead of waxing my eyebrow I changed to threading. Was in town for the holidays from the midwest and was badly in need of a pedicure.  I was able to walk right in with my sister and was immediately seated.   Score!   The staff was very professional and very clean.   When looking at nail establishments, cleanliness is one of the most important things to look for.   I bite my nails so I opted for the pedicure with all the bells and whistles: massaging, paraffin wax, moisturizer, callous removal, polish, ect . .  It was relaxing and my feet emerged soft with my nails painted perfectly.    I would definitely returen Read Less
