I had one experience here, and I never wish to return. My co-workers spoke highly of this place, visiting bi-weekly to get their nails filled in, and they convinced me to divert away from my usual nail salon and visit J&J.In regards to the outdoor setting, it was not bad. It is a bit out of place for the plaza it is in, but it is easy to find. With the interior, the place looks a little... old and not really taken care of to a decent cleanliness. Nonetheless, I stayed because of the positivities my friends told me about.Immediately, I was greeted--quite rudely in fact. It was by a man who said, "How can I help you?" by peering up briefly from his phone as if I was a distraction to the video. I said, "I need an acrylic fill and a pedicure." Without saying anything he motioned me to the seat and tucked his phone into his pocket to begin the work. Everything was okay at first with the way he prepared the tools; it is the execution that I have a major issue with.I asked for a fill, but he was completely taking off my previous acrylics, which is not what I typically experience in other nail salons but I suppose they do this in another way. I allowed him to do his job--which was a mistake. When he got to my ring finger he had trouble taking off my acrylic nail and acted more forcefully to remove it. He used another fake nail to slide underneath it after using the electric buffing tool they have for a while (to the point it started to burn). He became frustrated with how it is staying and jerked his wrist quickly to remove it and I then felt a huge pain on my nail--because he cut it. The man cut my nail bed bad enough to the point it was bleeding, and he did not even apologize until I was staring at it in confusion. The worker next to us looked at my nail and cringed, continuing with her client, and no band-aid was offered. I should have known that was a red flag to leave right on the spot, but I remained respectful and kept my composure and he, surprisingly, changed the music on his phone! The man was playing music from the speakers on his phone and personally I found it disrupting to the atmosphere.I asked him then, "Can I have a band-aid?"He appeared to not hear my question because he responded with a shake of his head and said, "No."I was so stunned by this! Is he seriously declining me of a bandage I asked for to cover a cut that he created? What is ridiculous is that he said that "It's fine, it's fine. We can still put the nail over it and polish." He appears to be unaware of the consequences that can come by doing so. I can get a horrible infection; I could have gotten one from this simple cut. When he left for whatever reason, I asked the lady next to us for a band-aid and immediately she stopped what she was doing to examine the cut the male worker had created to retrieve one.I had another woman do my nails after that horrendous experience, and it was no where as bad as his careless actions. He seemed to be rushing so he can use his phone again! As a side note, it took my nail a month and a half to completely heal.In regards to the other woman, she did my nails nicely. I showed her a design I saw on their Yelp page and she recreated it. I love the marble design she did and she suggested to add more foil on my nails, and it looked superb. As for my pedicure, the woman who did my feet accidentally cut me as well! That seems to be a reoccurring mistake for this salon; though, that is the only flaw I have. The two ladies that took care of my nails smiled kindly and had a wonderful attitude compared to the man. I had a lovely conversation about school and hobbies with the women, which made time pass by in a flash. When it came to paying, the woman said that she'll charge me full price, but I can come back once my nail heals so they can take care of it for free, which is not what I wanted but this is how their store works supposedly. It was $68.00 for my acrylics with a design and a pedicure, which is reasonable for the content--but unreasonable for the experience. Read Less
