I'm not one to just complain about small inconveniences but I'm so frustrated with this business and a certain person that works there in particular. I've been here many times, I go every 2 weeks to get my eyebrows done. 3 times before a woman (I don't know her name) has waxed my lip without my permission while I SPECIFICALLY told her I only wanted my eyebrows done and then charged me for it. I had my eyes closed and she would do it while she was still doing my eyebrows so I couldn't protest because she already had wax on my lip before I even knew what was happening. Today made me SO angry. I went in to get my eyebrows done and it was the same woman. She did my eyebrows super fast and didn't trim or pluck and didn't even show me them in the mirror like they usually do. She applied wax maybe 3 times in small places and then said she was done so I get up to leave and she's INSISTENT about waxing my lip and she's literally standing in front of the door and I'm going back and forth with her about not wanting my lip waxed so finally I just let her because I want to leave so I pay and leave and when I looked at my eyebrows in the mirror of my car they looked just as bad when I walked in plus I had a hairless spot now. Stereotyped Me??, Rushed Through her job 1. She rushed during my pedicure and manicure. You could even see it in her face. She kept hurting me while she filed and cut my nails because how fast she was going, probably because she had an appointment scheduled before me but decided to take me first. They could have explained to me that there would have been a wait until they could do mine, would have totally understood that but instead she chose to rush through it. When I go to get my nails done I'm looking for a time to relax. She didn't use the hot rocks for very long on my legs. She managed to do a good job on both my hands and feet but I didn't like how I felt like she was rushing to get done with me 2. Right before she started my pedicure she had the nerve to ask me if someone was paying for me.. Loud enough for everyone to hear. Everyone looked at me when I told her "No I'm paying for myself" I'm not someone who cries racism all the time but why would you ask if someone was paying for me? I went in dressed casual too. This place for acrylic is ok with the guy but pedicures and service the worst !!! They can take from 10-15 minutes on a pedicure who does that!? I have been meaning to type this review, but I had delayed it because I didn't want to relive the horrible experience I had at this business. I used to love coming to this place because of a specific employee. Her name was Blue, she was the sweetest. Blue was very talented in her role and very professional but for some reason that is unknown to me she does not work there anymore. Last time I went to Rose Nails I asked for Blue and the owner, I don't know his name but he is the only male that works there, rudely told me that she doesn't work there anymore. After that I asked if they had time for an acrylic set and he rudely yelled across the room in a loud, "NO!" I did not want to cause a scene in a business full of people or stoop to his level so I just kindly responded in a thank you. The man/owner did not say I'm too busy to take you in or anything like that. I would of understood and returned another time. He also did not give me any options of making an appointment or coming in at a later time. He simply refused service when I have been a loyal customer. I went with a friend yesterday she was getting a new set of acrylic nails and I a pedi we usually go here I like it better than Rose Nails 2. But yesterday was awful if you plan on getting acrylic I suggest Patrick because the lady that did my friends nails yesterday left them uneven one hand was longer than the other it was clearly obvious and she also spend half of the time complaining how hard it was to do her nails. The lady that did my pedi must have been new I have never seen her before she did a horrible job. She didn't paint half of one nail and had a hard time with the rest because the nail polish was dry, she also left my sides dirty with nail polish, the WORST part was that she planned on leaving them like that she actually told me she was done. I mentioned the smearing and the missing nail polish on my toes and she used her nail to clean the sides that hurt even when she was done I was still unhappy with the look it was mediocre. I could have done a better job myself. If I do come back I will be asking for a different person. Tip-1.Don't ask me to wax my eyebrows after you butcher my toes( heck no lady I'm not letting you near my eyebrows)2. Never had a great experience here but decided to give it a try again. First off, I was told that my wait (for a manicure) would be 10 minutes, ended up waiting more than 30. Two women came in after me and were told 5 minutes, and were both seated before me. I was finally seated and the man who did my nails tried to talk me out of the service I had chosen in place for another. The process was uncomfortable, the cuticle cleaning, etc. The paint job was not fantastic. And to top it off, my husband came in and was waiting for me. Yesterday, my friend and I went to rose nails for some pedis. My friend was paying for both of us, and this is her usual place she goes to. I hear a lot of people go here, so I had high expectations. We were sat down right away, which was great. We planned to just get regular polish. But my friend and I both had gel on our toes from prior pedis, and they charge $5 to take off gel. So we ended up getting gel pedis. Their color selection was great, I found a beautiful color right away. Anyway, during our pedis, the staff asked us to pay. Paying during a pedi? I guess, lol. They literally said "give me the money cus I'm going to close the register now." ??? Okay lol I guess that's fine. A couple minutes later, the lady asked my friend if she wanted a deluxe pedi, and my friend said no. The lady then made a remark, "you should because the bottom of your feet are dirty." We looked at each other in awe lol. My pedi was going fine, I didn't notice anything horrible. But then when I got home, I realized the lady didn't paint two of my nails fully. They do a good job on nails. Only complaint I have is that their pedicures are rushed. They really don't massage your leg or foot. Pedicures are suppose to be a relaxing experience not a rushed one!! I hope the improve on this!! Read Less

I arrived without an appointment looking to get acrylic coffin nails and a pedicure. They sat me down almost immediately which was nice. But the acrylics seemed pretty rushed, considering the fact that the finished look were too thick and seemed as the nail would lift upward off from my finger. Plus the lady was coughing the whole time, and paused for a minute to get a cough drop. She also cut off too much of the nail, they were too short, I originally wanted them long. All in all my acrylics took 8 min, very bad job.My mom also got acrylics that were also too thick and too wide.The pedicure was much better, the lady did finish quickly, but she did a great job. Great place, relaxing pedicures ...fast service when not too full and if they are they try to get you in asap...friendly staff .. they like kids , when I've taken my kids with me and they start to get fussy someone always comes along to try to cheer them up. I've been coming here for years and I had the worst experience today. I had a pedi done and the girl did an excellent job, I also had a guy doing my mani at the same time NEVER AGAIN! The guy messed up my hands at least twice and it was gel so he had to do them twice. When the girl was done with my pedi the guy says its better to sit at table and do them so he asks me to move. In the process or me moving I messed up my pedi FML at this point I'm annoyed been there for 2 hours bc of this guy. After everything said and done he fixed my mani but I was so fed up i walked out without them fixing my pedi that I paid full price for. I'm so annoyed and unhappy with my nails that after today I'm going somewhere else from here on out. If you don't pay attention to your nails they will allow u to walk out fucked up or not but want you to pay full price for half ass service and that's BS! Customer service sucks! Read Less

I was planning to go to Rose Nails 2, but when I got there, they said they were all full and told me to come back later. I didn't have the time so instead, I went to the original Rose Nails. Luckily, they were able to accommodate me right away; so if Rose Nails 2 is all booked, check out Rose Nails because it's usually little to no wait time - at least when I've gone as a walk-in. I came in for a gel fill and already knew what color I wanted, but their gel color selection is very lacking and colors on the swatch look old and worn out so it's definitely going to look different on your nails, I suggest looking at the actual bottle of polish to see the color. They didn't have the color that I wanted, which was a very very light blue, so I opted for a nude pink I saw on one of the manicure tables. The man who works there did my nails and although he doesn't seem like the friendliest person around, he worked fast. I usually spend about an hour at the nail salon but here I was done in 45 minutes. The gel color was even and my nails were at my desired length and shape. For $25, I have no complaints. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to get your nails done in Merced, Rose Nails is decent. Just don't expect them to be super nice or have a conversation with you, they'll literally just do your nails and be done. I also hope they get more gel colors and repaint the swatches. Read Less

This place sucks!!! I went for a manicure and this lady tricked me in to getting gel instead. After I did the dishes that same night 4 of my nails chipped and half of one fell off. I'm very picky how my nails are done. I've been going to Rose Nail for over a year with the same person, Jenni and I have no problems and complaints about her or the salon. She has satisfied me in her service, care and smiles. I make the decision if my nails are done right and the way I like it, after all I'll be the one wearing it!!! 11/10/16 I went back to get a fill because my nails had grown way too long and were stating to hurt. Patrick did my nails again and I asked him to make them shorter and I requested a maroon colored powder. I'm torn! This place is ok, and they do decent enough work....however, the attitude of the owner (Patrick) is horrible! He acted annoyed from the minute I walked in. I've been here a few times in hopes that my new experience is better than the last. I will definitely not be going back after this last visit. In not very fond of this place. I went there for a first time a few weeks ago & found that they are very judgmental! They kept trying to force me to get my eye brows waxed, lip hair waxed & that is offensive. I also picked a really pretty bright baby blue color for my nails & they completely put a different color on my toes! It was very packed as well. I have been here a few times for pedicures and they are fine but not the best.  However, after today's visit I will not return.  While my friend and I were waiting for pedis, a mom and daughter (who happened to be black) came in and asked how long the wait was to get manis.  They were told one hour.  Of course they left... But a half hour later a manicurist was sitting there doing nothing.  It was pretty clear from our observation that these women were treated differently than the white and Latino clientele.  I will choose to spend my $ somewhere else in the future and urge you to do the same. The staff here is very rude and unprofessional. The nail designs were mediocre, french tip was crooked, the technician cut me while doing my full set and they just seemed bothered to be doing my nails. I also got a pedi which was blah. There wasnt many nail colors to choose from and the pedi was rushed. I couldve done a better job at home. I understand they solicit other services to you but the lady insulted my eyebrows so she could do them. Also I was trying to show the lady who did my nails a design from pintrest on the shape and length I wanted my nails to be, she didn't want to look at it and seemed insulted that I'd ask her to look. I got my eyebrows waxed here and will not be going back. While the woman did a good job on my eyebrows, her commentary while doing them was not appreciated. She noted four separate times how hairy my eyebrows were. She then began to prep my lip for waxing, and I told her I did not want it waxed. She then said "Oh really?", and I said "Yes, only eyebrows. Thank you". She then went on to continue with my eyebrows to say that I wouldn't believe how beautiful she was going to make me, and I smiled politely. She then said I would be beautiful and the lip would be done too for only $5 more. I said no thank you, just the eyebrows and she made another comment. The lady who did my nails was really nice. But she did a terrible job. She cut me on each finger on my right hand. It hurt but I didn't think she cut me that bad. When I went next door to shop I noticed how bad my fingers were. I couldn't even wash them or else in stung. The quality was crap. I ended up spending $102 for cuts and infected toe nails. Speaking of the pedicure it was relaxing, loved how they used the "hot" stones. They were more like Luke warm, but none the less it was a nice touch. I had got gel nails on my toes a week prior (at a different place) so I didn't want them to be changed or touched just more of a clean up of my cracked heels. The lady commented on how gross my feet were and that a lot of dead skin was coming off. It wasn't just one comment it was multiple comments, which made me feel embarrassed since there was a full room of people getting pedicures and everyone heard.
