I came here a few months ago and got my nails done by Alison. She does a amazing job and is truly talented but i have to share about my experience here. I came on time to my apt, and drove an hour to see her, i had to wait 30 min because she was doing another woman's nails and chit chatting. I was annoyed but thought to myself "she seems nice & like she's fun to talk to". Lol my first impression was wrong. She was kinda rude. I'd try to make small talk and she wouldn't respond, or gave one wondered response, kinda made me feel like i was annoying her. Also, she would stop doing my nails to post on Instagram/ Snapchat or even have me hold her phone to take videos. The nail techs here are very skilled in what they do. When I went Mezzie did my nails. She was very skilled and took her time, I was very satisfied with my nails, if it were just for nails I would give them five stars. However, since I am writing this review on the whole experience I have to give them a two. When I first tried making an appointment it was very wishy washy. I first had to contact Alison who then had to contact her team to see if anyone was available and she kept changing the time of appointment and ignoring my texts. After finally setting up the meeting I went in and everything was great, until a couple weeks later when my nail broke. I was very upset and contacted Mezzie right away to see if she had time to fix it. She replied swiftly and told me I had to wait until the nail healed. When the nail healed I told her again and she ignored my text. After a couple days I asked again, and once again I was left with no reply. I assumed that she had not seen my message, but to my surprise she was posting on her social media all her openings for the week. I go to Ashley for my nails. Very professional, clean, and great customer services! The while team and owner are sweet, welcoming ladies. You can definitely feel the great vibe in this place! This review may be a little biased because I only go to one nail tech here, so it's actually a review for her and doesn't necessarily reflect the whole salon. I've heard nothing but great things about Alison (she's ALWAYS booked so I know she's in high demand). Natalie also does amazing work. Never been to her but I watch her do other people's nails. However, Ashley is my girl!!! I'm a little complicated and indecisive, but I always leave 100% satisfied. Her technique is flawless, she's very gentle, and she's always up-to-date in the latest nail trends. I have a couple of naturally crooked, bumpy nails, and she has found a way to straighten them out! I've only gone to this place twice and both times were AWFUL. As in I made an appointment for a manicure and I got there bright and early and she didn't even bother to show up. One of the other girls working there called her and asked if she had an appointment. She said no, in a lying manner. This place sucks. The people who work there suck. And they're stuck up. I don't appreciate making an appointment for 11:00am but then having to sit and wait 20 minutes because she's still in the middle of doing someone else nails. really not impressed with there professionalism I scheduled an appointment for 8 am with Allison and she did a no show I was actualy really excited to get my nails done  by her . I love her work . but it was a total let down when I called her and she said someone called her from my phone and cancel and later on says she has no time for me until 2 weeks wow very disapointed and mind you I was in cruches with a broken ankle .  I was very disappointed !! Finally found a nail shop in Merced!! Woohooo!! Nelly did my nails and she is soooo awesome..had my old acrylic removed and got a gel Mani. Came out great! Love the shape and color. Nelly explained that they specialize in colored acrylic. Which is new to me. But they have pretty colors and the lady next to me colored acrylic set looked nice as well. I come from Turlock to this place because they are literally the best in the central valley!! I have 3 jobs that are physical and I can't live without my nails ... Put it this way my nails are gorgeous and stay put.. Not to mention the fun, friendly , environment is a plus... And any and every trend I want they are able to do on my nails.. I love this place. I know I swore up and down that sparkle nail bar in Elk Grove is the best and they still are. But I think this place keeps up with newer products .. I go to Ashley and she's great. I usually show her pictures of what I want and she replicates it perfectly if not better. It's in downtown Merced I believe. I don't live here so I'm not sure what's around in Merced. But I drive the hour and 20 mins to get my nails done.The building looks old. But inside it's actually very stylish. Each nail tech has their own unique style to their desk. I think there's 7. Two pedicure stations and it's also a hair salon. I recently got my nails done, and I've gotten matte nail polish before but Ashley used a powder and it's amazing. If I could give zero stars, I would. Made an appointment at the beginning of the day intending to go in and get a full set, and when I went in I was told by the nail tech that she "didn't have time" for what I wanted. She apparently assumed when I called that I only wanted a fill, when I was never even asked what I wanted. If you're going to allow someone to make an appointment, then you should make sure you know what they want. Not that I was even asking for anything outrageous, as I had another shop in Merced put poorly done nails on me and I wanted them quickly removed and replaced with a new set. Overall terrible customer service, and I will never consider trying to get my nails done there again as I made an appointment, showed up, and she wouldn't even take me for what I needed! Read Less

Alison and all of her nail techs always do a great job. I always leave the nail salon greatly satisfied with the outcome. Even two weeks later and my set still looks great. I absolutely LOVE this nail salon. The owner is down to earth, amazing personality and is super creative. She can literally design your nails based off of your favorite team,jewelry, color or favorite shoe! I am not playing. I have been coming to this salon for my hair and nails since I was 16 years old with my mother, and now my 3 year old daughter will not step foot in any other nail salon except this one. Yes, I said my 3year old daughter lol. She has sat next to me while getting my nails done here since a newborn and has had her first manicure here. Needless to say all the employee's/nail technicians are sweet and amazing plus the patience of saints. Definetly a go to for a girls day, mommy time, mommy and daughter time. I love it here. We are alway a greeted upon arrival. Never wait long if there is another appointment in front of me.  Warm atmosphere....lots of jokes...and warm service. I have been going to Mara for about 5 years now. Sometimes I go in there with no clue in mind of what I want on my nails & Mara never disappoints. I started going to the salon a couple years ago &I have to admit I was nervous at first because the salon is known for doing great work, but I always liked the natural simple look, whether it was gel or acrylic. So when I was recommended to go to Mara, I thought I would give it a shot. She's amazing! I switch between gel and acrylic every few months, but she always does a great job &makes sure I leave loving my nails. For the summer, I recently got gel toes &I love them. When you ask for a gel manicure, it's assumed you get a regular manicure first then the gel polish. Nothing crazy out of the ordinary. However, when I asked for a gel manicure they didn't Insist on telling it's solely a polish change and no manicure. At first I was slightly annoyed and didn't want to continue, but I thought it'll be fine and I'll just get the polish and it'll still be nice. LOL JOKES! Mara, the woman who did my nails cannot do gel well at all! In fact it was so terrible I had to go get it redone once I left. Yeah I wasted 20$ but it was worth it, that gel polish was terrible! Advice: if you do decide to go to this salon, stick with acrylic. Just a fair warning they do NOT do manicures unless stated and they have a specific person only for that.
