Their new location is at 315 11th street closer to the Manhattan beach pier. The experience was lovely. The space has a nice vibe to it. You receive your mani/ pedi in an armchair with pillows so it almost feels like home. The manicurists were kind and seemed willing to talk if you wanted. I however was perfectly content to stay silent and watch the movie that was playing. My gel manicure was very well done and the recommended color looks fantastic! Read Less

This place is absolutely adorable and the staff are so nice but I received the worst manicure ever when I went here this past weekend. My girlfriend and I both had chipped nails by the end of the day. Her nail polish started puffing up and separating due to it being so thick. The sad thing is, the manicurist mentioned many times that the polish was thick and had seen better days but she still didn't go and get a different bottle of white. She also didn't give my friend a massage at all. I wish I could say that I would be back since it is such a cute place, but I definitely won't be. It is just not worth it. Read Less

Not a good first time experience here.My treatments were REALLY lame. In fact, the 2nd lamest treatments I've ever had in my life.  Minimal (4 seconds and soft) filing of callouses and literally 8 second speedy, cheesy massage on each arm/foot.  I got my man/pedi simultaneously. My pedi was so quick, that she needed to paint my toes the same time as my nails.  And rather than massage me while waiting for the polish, my pedicurist just looked at my feet. AWKWARD!  Cause= Effect....So she totally wasted her tip, me wanting to return AND this negative review.Additionally, treatments can be done outside, and wasn't offered this. Instead, I spent my 25 minute treatment trapped inside the tiny room on this gorgeous day. Thanks a lot Zenka.:-/Clean, and English speaking manicurists, but not worth the pathetic lack of a good, solid treatment.PS- I should've known the quality of service when the "champagne" was not offered as sparkling apple juice. This place is amazing!! I was familiar with the name because I used to visit Zenka nail spa when they were down the street. The ownership and location has changed but the services have only improved. I stopped by yesterday to get a mani/ pedi. They graciously accommodated me at 6pm and both women did an incredible job. I opted for the spa pedicure and manicure which included the hot stones. They took their time and knew how to use the stones to both massage and relax my hands and feet. It was one of the best mani/ pedis I have ever received! The spa is spotless, the employees were welcoming and I noticed that they carry a line of more natural polishes that are 'three-free' (a term I had to inquire about and means they are free of the 3 harshest chemicals usually found in polishes) I have found my new spot- Thanks Zenka! This place is like a breath of fresh air! Received a minx/gel manicure with Valery yesterday & I absolutely LOVE my nails! I have received SO many compliments already!! Valery is so detailed-oriented and takes her time. She also ended my session with a AMAZING arm massage. The girl almost had me fall asleep! The location itself is within a spa and is very clean & trendy. I was impressed by the variety of gel colors, glitter, & minx designs available to choose from. My manicure session took place in a private room, which was a nice change from your typical nail salon. I definitely enjoyed my experience here and can't wait for Valery to do my nails next time! If I could give this zero stars I would.  I purchased a LifeBooker deal for 2 main-pedis.  When I went to make the appointment, for some reason the voucher showed as "redeemed" - I called and was told "No problem, we'll honor it".  Then the ownership changed - when I told the new owner about it (Valery) she made it sound like she was doing me a huge favor to honor the voucher.  When I called AND emailed her about the second main-pedi I paid for, radio silence.The services are overpriced for standard mani-pedi. My Groupon experience at Trilogy Spa was great! You get alot for the price for sure! A float bed experience, a tub soak and a massage all for $75! I've been there several times for facials and massages and i love it, especially being part of their Text Messaging service where i've gotten several discounts via text! So I figured i'd try the Groupon and try treatments i've never done before. The float bed was soooooooooooo relaxing. I totally fell asleep within a few minutes. Courtney, the sweet Groupon girl, actually had to wake me up!! :) The tub soak was very relaxing and soothing as well. It was nice product to soak in which softened my skin. I liked it because it's not on their regular menu so it was something new and different. Then i had my massage. I upgraded to the full 50 minute massage from the included 25 minute massage. My therapist Mark was AMAZING! Nice and strong yet smooth and relaxing at the same time. I doze off a few times and once i snored and i woke myself up! I will TOTALLY be going back to see him for sure. He did wonders for my back! For $75 bucks you get alot. And you can stay as long as you want, enjoy the outside deck, take a shower, go in the sauna. I myself ordered lunch from one of the restaurants in the plaza and ate on the deck. It was such a nice day for me! Not only that, Mark actually took the time to come outside and check on me between his clients. I told him i was going to come back to see him, hopefully, monthly. Then he told me about their membership program called Club Escape or Escape Club or something like that which gives you a discount. A monthly massage for $79 instead of $95??!! Come on! I had a Lehua Honey Scrub by the dynamic hands of a girl named Bernadett. She explained the service to me and it was exactly how my girlfriends described it. I was rubbed and scrubbed! The pampering was endless but when it was over my skin felt renewed. I will be asking for her again. I hear she does a great massage too. My friend loved her facial and enjoyed the sauna. Trilogy Spa is my favorite spa. My friends and I love to go there for massages and facials. We love to get there early and lay on the outside lounge beds and have lunch before our services and then relax after. Last week they did a fundraiser for our preschool and my best friend held her baby shower on their rooftop in March and we didn't want to leave. It's sometimes hard to remember to talk softly when you're in a group so you just have to remember that or they will gently remind you. Parking tickets are very expensive so bring quarters because the cops ticket fast. I know they have lower prices coming soon, and my other friend told me that she goes monthly for only $79 - I hadn't heard of this before but I'm going to ask about it next time I'm in. I don't think they are very good at putting their specials online but hopefully that will change. Read Less

I received a gift certificate to this local oasis several years ago, and I had been prolonging using this gift for no apparent reason. Finally, last week, I made time to pamper myself, yet I was unsure, if my certificate was still valid? Regardless of its validity, I was going to treat myself to a day of overdue relaxation. I dialed the number and the voice on the other end described in detail the treatments available to a spa beginner like me. Upon answering my endless questions and scheduling my appt., the poor guy looked up my antiquated gift certificate and to my relief it was still available for use. Being punctually challenged, I arrived within moments of the beginning of my session. Instead of rushing me or suggesting I reschedule, the receptionists greeted me in a calm manner and escorted me to prepare for my appointment. Moments later, I was greeted by a massage therapist, who took my sore, extremely tense body and made me human again. Embarrassingly, I woke up to the sound of my own snore. Read Less

I just had a full set of pink & white gel on my fingers & toes with patti and I LOVE them, they are perfect. The whole experience was so far removed from some of the other local nail salons in the area, it felt so luxurious & relaxing - like a real treat. There was a great movie playing, jars of candy, tea & water offered, it was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. WOW - I've just been alerted to some of the past reviews and I am here to publically apologize to everyone who received poor customer service at Trilogy Spa Manhattan Beach! It is always our intention to take care of our customers and we obviously had the wrong team in place which is why we now have our original leadership from Hermosa running the Manhattan location. For those of you who had bad experiences, please give me a call as I'd love the opportunity to make it right. The promotion we did with the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center was sold by a third party in a manner in which we've don't do business and upon learning of the issues, we immediately terminated the relationship. We apologize to everyone who was effected, we agreed to the promotion simply as an effort to support the Rejuvenation Center who had recently opened. It is our mistake and we hope you give us a chance to make it right. We are a human busienss, we value our customers and pride ourselves on our levels of customer service that have no returned in full force. I am truly shocked to read that some people have had bad experiences in Trilogy, Manhattan Beach. I have had nothing but 100% fantastic treatments every single time. From the front desk - Thalia, Catherine, Damien & Mark in particular who are so welcoming & friendly, to the beautiful surroundings & wonderful therapists. I have worked in a number of Spas in Europe & would be very picky but I now go to Trilogy for all my waxing, facials & massages & am completely satisfied & happy. I have never had a bad experience here. I have had several St Tropez spray tans with Thalia and she is a perfectionist, my tan is always flawless & one rainy day she even took the trouble to wait for me & walk me to my car with an umbrella so I wouldn't get wet or streak. I just had my eyebrows waxed today by Michelle, it the most painless waxing I have ever had. I also had a bikini wax with Karina and she was great & lovely too. For facials I have gone to Sonia and she is always great, excellent facial massage that usually puts me to sleep. I have tried quite a few massage therapists, Tunda, Igor, another guy with long hair in a pony tail and they were all amazing. My FAVOURITE therapist, who I cannot recommend highly enough is Linda. I am 28 weeks pregnant & am now going to her weekly for prenatal massages. This is my second pregnancy and on my first I had numerous annoying problems, sciatica, hip & back pain etc and had so see a PT but this time, since shortly after my first trimester, I have been going to Linda on a weekly basis and have had none of the problems that I had the first time. She is so caring and nurturing, it doesn't just feel like a massage it really feels as if she is looking after me & cares about me. She knows exactly which points need a little extra pressure and even though she never hurts me in any way I always leave completely knot free. Her massages are so amazing that I almost go into a trance, incredibly relaxing, I lay there wishing they will never end. I really cannot say enough good things about her - you have to try her. I really think this is a great Spa with lovely staff who want you to enjoy your treatment. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody. Read Less

My friend & I got a pkg. deal from Trilogy Spa.The massage experience from Trilogy SPA was HORRIBLE! Oh where do I begin, my friend & I, both made our appnt. a week before the 5th of July. Not only was it a Sunday but the day after the 4th of July so needless to say parking in Manhattan Beach was a hot mess! We got to the receptionist to cool off but only to find out that our appnt. was on the 12th, not the 5th, it was changed w/out our knowledge, the staff's explanation was that the promotion we had purchased was only valid Mon-Thurs. We had mentioned clearly when we booked the reservations last week, that we wanted to upgrade our massage so that would have been another hint or indication to whomever made the 1st appnt. for us that we had a promo pkg. So I looked at my phone to see the calendar to book another date, to my surprise 12th falls on a SUNDAY! What?! My friend & I looked amazed because the front staff clearly are out to space! Still didn't get an apology or acknowledgement of their mishap, she only blurted out, "" well we have to change that date quickly to some other time!"" Ok am I delusional but since we made time & drove around to look for parking during the holiday that they should have just honored the 1st appnt? Anyways, I let that slid, to be nice we made another appnt. We get to the spa, they rushed us coz' our upgrade is only 60min & they will count the 5min before & after so technically 50min! That's not what it sez on the pamphlet but ok, moved on. Next I got to my room, it was freezing cold, I'm not sure if my masseuse was new but she didn't even asked me if the temp. & pressure (massage) was fine so I finally volunteered after a few minutes that I needed more pressure coz' it felt like she was just rubbing lotion on my back!! After my massage, I wanted to take a bath in 1 of the tubs (there are 2 side by side) My friend's masseuse got her bath ready served w/ fruit & the sugar scrub, mine?? No where to be found?! Now mind you I've been cold from the massage room, So I decided to prepare my own & while waiting for my bath water I waited in the dry sauna room, come to find out my water was luke warm, it wasn't working properly. I asked 1 staff for assistance, she never came back??!!! My friend is somewhat amused but also annoyed coz' now she had to rushed her bath so I can use it afterwards. Fast forward to this horrific experience, we informed the front desk while in the process of paying our bill, she never apologized for the inconvenience but continued on to explained the gratuity for the services! What services?Then our bill was $5 higher than what the promo pkg listed it as, so I showed her again, she went on to say that what we have in print is incorrect & no other explanations! Aggh, correct me here but don't they have to honor what they had advertised on these promotional list of prices? Again, no apology just swiped my card & charged the bill! The other staff mentioned they do have a few ""kinks"" to fix, they're not used to this ""promotional stuff"" and we should still be glad coz' it's still a lot cheaper than paying their normal prices! Was that a jab? That we're being cheap about this? It's the whole business principal & etiquette for me here.... Here's another kicker!! I asked for a comment card, the front desk left, came back very shortly & said they don't have any? I've been to a few spas, less expensive than this place & they always asked for me to make sure I fill out the survey! Hello Trilogy management, you need some serious training with your staff, start with...say it with me, ""The customer is always right!"" I work with a big corporation, BMW (I'm sure you've heard of it), if we clearly had put something in writing, not only we have to honor it, we have to give something to accommodate our clients & make sure to APOLOGIZE for the inconvenience. Hermosa location was great but it closed so my husband and I went to the Manhattan Beach location. The amenities were great, especially the deck, but the facials we got were just about average. I got Nicole (although I requested Angelicha, they told me they put my request under the wrong name!) and he got Karina, and we would not recommend them. The worst part of the experience was the front desk - a guy with short bleeched hair who introduced himself as the manager. We were asked to pay $30 more than out services cost because according to the manager my husband's facial was upgraded from a manhandler to a fitness massage according to the therapist Karina. Funny thing is he was not asked if he wanted to change or upgrade his facial and he had no idea what facial he got. I told the manager we are not paying for upgraded services we were not asked to accept. Here is the funny thing - the therapist was in session he couldn't interrupt so he told us we have to pay in full and come back for a refund! Gosh! What a nightmare after an experience that was supposed to relax us. After we came back we got the refund and a very brief apology that the therapist did not remember (after an hour!) what the situation was. If you ask me- she just tried to get higher commission and the manager handled this absolutely unprofessionally. Next time we want to drop $230 on 2 facials and tip, we will go somewhere else. I will also stop buying their toiletries. What a horrible experience! Make sure they do not rip you off. And ruin your mood after you've had an average but relaxing facial. Read Less
