Cute location but terrible service. One of the technicians arrived late, one never showed up. My daughter's service, which started 15 minutes late due to technician's late arrival, was mediocre. The ladies did a pretty good job on my nails. Mani+Pedi $33. Two chairs only. Small place. Friendly, quiet ladies.The experience was fine, except the woman getting services in the chair next to me was on the phone the entire time. The salon is too small for that. It would be great if the owners prohibited this (post a sign maybe) because it definitely affects the experience overall. I am currently having my nails done right now at this place. Its called Nails Elegance on Highland Avenue. It used to be across the street and the name used to be Nail Center.It's a peaceful place. While getting your nails done, you can look at the beautiful flowers that she has at the front door and also people watch on Highland Ave. The owner is super nice and professional.    Besides that, she does a fantastic, awesome, and beautiful job on my nails!! The best part is that the color stays for at least 4 to 5 weeks! I recommend that you make an appointment with her before coming. She is really busy.You will love this place. This spot is so cute, with two chairs only so call ahead.  They used be across the street but had to move because of the ridiculously high rent forced on them.  Nhung, shop owner, Theresa & Tom do an amazing job on mani/pedi's.  I go here every two weeks & occasionally get my lip waxed as well.They take cash & credit cards but you can't tip on the card after its run, so be sure to tell them to add the tip before it's run so they get their well deserved gratuity!! This place is great. I started going to their original spot more than a decade ago and would visit them to get nails done when I was in town, after moving. I moved back to the area just before they moved across the street and into a space in Elegance's building. They are always friendly and welcoming. My husband and I stumbled upon this place after brunch this morning. We were pleasantly surprised to find that both of this charming little spot's chairs were open, so we took advantage. I'm so glad we did!Ambiance: The salon is attached to a spa, but not affiliated with it. It's a cozy little room with two comfy massage chairs, pillows, and warm decorations/art. The sky was clearing up after some rain today and they had the door open, letting the warm sunshine and fresh air in. It was lovely. :) Service: Nhung and Shelby helped us and they were so kind, friendly, and all-around great! They were patient as I mulled over polish and helped my indecisive self narrow my options down. They are very thorough and precise in their work and, even with only two chairs, they don't make you feel like they're rushing you out for the next appointment. Price: They are so amazingly affordable for where they're located! I got a gel manicure at $25 and regular pedicure at $15, while my husband got a standard mani/pedi for $30 total. Definitely some of the more reasonable pricing in the South Bay. Tip #1: It's better to call just before coming instead of making an appointment. This is because they take walk-ins and may ask you to bump your appointment a bit if a walk-in takes longer than expected. Calling in is the most flexible way to avoid the frustration that may come with having your appointment bumped or not being able to get your own walk-in.Tip #2: If you're trying to get your man to head to the nail salon with you to do some hand and foot maintenance, you should try starting here! I have been a long time customer of Tom at Elegance Boutique. This is a new location for him. He does the absolute BEST manicure and pedicure in the South Bay. The takes his time and is a master with filing your nails even. I highly suggest Nails at Elegance Boutique...you'll have a great experience!!! Incredibly slow service. Terrible up charges and super poor quality. Paid for the callus removal upgrade and soon realized they essentially charged for exactly what a normal salon would include for a regular pedicure. I would certainly never go back. Total joke and waste of money. Read Less

I bite my nails. Because of this when I get to a nail salon it usually hurts when they're putting the acrylics on. This is the first place that did not hurt me when they put my nails on. My gel manicure and pedicure took 2+ hours including a 20 minute wait when I had already called ahead and made an appointment. The pedicure was fine, dont expect anything special, and the gel manicure was ehh at best. She cut my finger and didnt bother to clean it. There is still some cotton ball remnants under my manicure. Also, pretty sure the tools aren't sterile and are reused. To top it all off, they include tip when they run your card and didnt feel the need to tell me when I tipped her an additional $10 cash. I've been here a few times with overall decent experiences.... Not fantastic manicures, but they are suitable. Close to my house.  However they get this poor rating because when removing a gel manicure they just bring over a bowl filled with ACETONE and have you soak your hands over them while they protect your face from the fumes with a towel. COME ON PEOPLE. That destroys your hands, and is just flat out scary. Needless to say I had to walk out. You need to use tin foil to wrap the fingernails. I won't be back. Read Less

I've been here a few times, nothing to exciting, but the last time was terrible. The guy cut me badly twice and then without doing anything about it, as I now realize it must have been bleeding significantly, painted right over it. Unfortunately, this place is terrible.  I say unfortunately because I live within walking distance and this is the most convenient salon.  However, I would drive 30 minutes to avoid this place.  EVERY time I have been here, I have had to wait excessively.  They are understaffed and very slow (2 hours for a mani/pedi).  If they tell you it's a 20 minute wait, be prepared to wait an hour.  Even when I had an appointment, I had to wait 35 minutes.  They are nice people, but they have no concept of supply and demand.  I went today, at opening, and one person was working.  He was already working on a customer, so he said the other worker would be there in 20 minutes.  After an hour, I walked out.  I will NEVER return as time/courtesy are not their priority. In a rush I decided to go to nail center and spa to see if they had time for a brazilian and it was my lucky day...I was helped by the younger of the two ladies who works in the spa, and she was very friendly and made small talk with me during the whole time, which was a good way to stop think about the pain.We all know that getting a Brazilian is never a pleasant experience, but my lovely waxer was quick and efficient. Not a fan.Yeah, the chairs were comfy, the people were nice, but...my pedicure was really lame. What I love about a pedicure is how, after a hard work week, I can have my poor, heel-abused feet pampered with a little foot/leg massage and some TLC from some cute little asian lady. And while this place has all the potential - inclulding the aforementioned asian ladies - there was no delightful massage or TLC; instead, my poor feet were scrubbed with that little sponge to sluff off the dead skin so hard they hurt!! I think my feet hurt more after the pedicure than before :( Just not necessary. As far as the polish goes, I'm only on day 3, but it's ok so far.Also, another annoyance was the payment situation - they automatically added tip! The pedicure was $18, and they charged me $23.50...that's a 30% tip!!! They took my card, ran it through, and when I went to sign, I saw the price and since there wasn't anywhere to put tip, I quickly deduced what happened. This is a great nail salon, and you pay for what you get.  You can save by buying the toolkit, but still ... This place has the big chairs with the built in foot baths (the type that have been all over the news with the health problems).  They do a great job, but it is a good bit more than Progressive Nails down the street.
