Worst.Nail.Place.Ever. Seriously, if I could give this place zero stars I would. First of all, customer service is NON-EXISTENT. I suppose you could say it was by no fault but my own that I stayed, considering the horrible customer service starts as soon as you enter the door, but boy, not even the rude grunting upon arrival could prepare me for the awful experience I would have here.
First of all, when you enter, not so much as a hello is uttered. In fact, you're lucky if you're even acknowledged. After you choose a nail color, you awkwardly play Russian roulette with the chairs because instead of being seated, you're told to sit down anywhere, where other patrons can mob you for a seat despite your place in line.
Afterwards, they rush you through your mani/pedi. In addition to using EXTREMELY old polish (so old you can see the crust forming around the opening and see the bubbles rising almost immediately after being applied), my friend's nail technician had the audacity to give her an attitude after my friend asked her to paint her entire nail, because the manicurist missed the side of it. Go figure, a nail salon that doesn't want to actually do nails. Once the old coat of paint was applied, the manicurist whipped out a cheap (extremely small) fan to dry my nails. Once my friend's nails were done, they told us to share the fan to dry our nails. Now I don't know if this is common in California, but in NY, where I'm from, they have drying stations for this kind of thing. This is the first time in my life I've ever seen anything like this, and I've had a heck of a lot of manicures in my life. When we insisted we each have a fan to dry, they pretended they couldn't hear us. We had to ask multiple times, after which they begrudgingly gave my friend her own fan.
The cherry of top of the cake was probably about 5 or 10 minutes later when my manicurist gingerly touched my wet nails, proclaimed "dry," then ripped my fan away to give to another patron, despite having a third fan directly behind me, not being used. Since my friend was still drying, I stayed in my seat, but my manicurist made sure to make me feel the pressure to leave and make room for more cash opportunities as she came back and repeatedly said "bye bye" to me.
Both mine and my friends nails smudged as soon as we left, as our nails did not have nearly enough time to dry. This place is a joke and I honestly don't know what people in their right mind are keeping it in business. This can't be the best Malibu has to offer, even as a quick fix, residents shouldn't be settling for such amateur service.
On top of it all, this was probably the most expensive manicure I've ever had to pay for as far as walk-in salons go. All I want to know is, who keeps coming back here?Read Less
