The reason why I give Modnails three stars is they have great service. It's my second time here and the first time was good. Today I got cut twice on the same finger. Once while the technician was buffering and second time she clipped the same finger causing it to bleed. I didn't make a big deal and decided to tell the receptionist the situation privately up front and she 100% agreed that I shouldn't be charged for the service which is why I still think Modnails has great potential to be one of the best nail salons in studio city. Every nail technician is different which is why it's hard to grade a whole performance based on one person, but besides the finger being cut I really do enjoy coming to Mod Nails. Read Less

I know I don't write enough reviews but I had to for this one.  I was in the area and needed a mani-pedi badly before my upcoming weekend get away.  I'm usually very simple with my nails, I keep them short and clean. I probably get a mani-pedi a few times a year at random nail salons. For me the best way to judge a mani is how long does it last? IMO, a long lasting mani is an indicator of 1) skill of the nail tech and 2) high quality product from the salon.  I cook about 3x a week including washing dishes along with a few house chores and I don't always wear gloves like I should but I'm very happy that this gel mani from Mod Nails is still going strong!! After almost 3-weeks with no peeling or chipping. There is also no sign of bubbles under the gel either and they are just as shiny as I first got them done. This nail salon is very classy and exquisite. Steve and Hannah are the best nail salon managers in all Los Angeles. They take pride in their craft and always do excellent work. It's also a fun place to be because they constantly check on you to make sure you're comfortable. I always get compliments on my nails. I have been going to Harris for over 6 months now. I did nails for 25 years and only went to others for pedicures. After searching forever for a new nail salon, I stumbled across Mod Nails & have been a loyal client ever since! The owner Hannah is such a boss & my go to nail tech because she's slays my nails everytime. From shape to color to design, I always leave with my nails poppin' to perfection!  She's also a perfectionist when it comes to shaping + extremely sweet and fun to talk to, so time flys by.While Hannah is my fav, she is very serious about all of her nail techs doing a phenomenal job (she trains each of them, until their skills meet her standards), so really no matter who you book with, you're in good hands. Booking an appointment is never a problem & I've never had to wait longer than 10 mins (only 1 time) Overall, the salon is super clean, everyone is very welcoming + sweet and pricing is normal, if you're used to higher end salons. You truly do get what you pay for.Mod Nails is hands down the best nail salon in the valley, so if actually care about your hands & you too want to be poppin to perfection, then you should book an appt asap and stop playing around!!! I will definitely be returning! Lin did my nails and she did an amazing job. I told her that I had a really bad experience before at a different salon that resulted in bleeding etc. She made sure to be very careful, gentle and communicated with me to make sure i was ok. She was also a lot of fun to talk to :) the whole staff makes you feel welcome and really to me besides the nails looking perfect, that was my favorite part of the visit! Steve has been doing my nails for about 8 years and he is the best! He and his wife recently opened MOD NAILS in Studio City. I'm driving further for my mani-pedi but it is more than worth it. This is a large, clean and "classy" shop. I love the white and black color scheme. The massage chairs are the best I've ever sat in (I came in early today just to sit and enjoy)! They go over and beyond as far as making sure that everything is sanitary, including the foot basins have ...a new sack for rack customer and the water/jacuzzi lines have a special attachment. They use the best brands of everything (Opi, Essie, etc). Nothing is watered down like at some other shops. The manicurists are artists! I'm amazed at things they do while I stick with my conservative Mod About You polish! I've never seen anyone leave Steve unhappy and I'm sure no one will leave this shop unhappy.
