They were extremely attentive and took time to explore all of my options. Even after being quite late for my appointment, it didnt deter Karina from spending the necessary time with me. In keeping with the plan that would be best for my hairs recovery. Not too mention having to remove and/or fix the ridiculous mess the previous person had created on my poor hair. She did not rush nor cut corners. The gal whom greeted me at the front desk was also simply lovely and a complete sweetheart. Offering me champagne to ease the hora, that was my hair. I had to postpone the second stage of the process in getting my hair as I had hoped. But just as soon as I recover. I made an appointment with very little notice and they were able to accommodate me. I wanted a bayalage / highlight do and showed the lady a picture prior to coming in. I was assured she would be able to do  it and quoted me a price which was comparable to local prices for this procedure.When I got into the shop, I was very impressed with the service and staff. They offered me water, tea, champagne etc. Their location is on the second floor and street (meter) parking is needed. I wish that there was a dedicated area of parking so it would be a little inconvenient if you are sitting in the chair to have to go down to put coins in. Luckily, I had someone with me to help me with this.As far as the hair went, my hairdresser was very friendly and knowledgeable. She explained to me that I probably won't be able to go blondish right away due to the fact that my hair is thin and can damage it; so it would have to be a 2 part session. I appreciated that because I didn't want to fry my hair during the process. I was fine with that however, my original hair was slightly orangy due to having used box dye hair before. I didn't like my original color but highlights were added into my original hair on top of my own color and then toned down with purple shampoo and toner. She also suggested a mask so that my hair won't get damaged and I agreed (which I'm so glad I did as I don't see much damage to my hair). I got a slight trim (about 1 inch) to cut off my split ends but not a lot of hair was taken off.The reason why I give this place a 4star is because I don't like the blend of colors as it doesn't seem to flow. I wanted more of my natural color blended into the length of my hair but it is mostly the light honey color throughout without my nautural hair color blended in. Also I have a patch of dark spot (see pic) on the top back of my head. I was hoping for a smoother blend but I should've told her I wanted a color correction first then bayalage and highlights so it's my fault for assuming that would be done. I have been using purple shampoo at home so it would take out the brassiness and it has helped a little. I will attached the pic as it has been 5 days or so and have washed my hair 3 times.I will possibly return again to see if I can get my hair more ashy blonde and to fix the patch of black as it looks unnatural. So I came across Melrose Beauty Bar with my friend as we needed a fill, Im very iffy about trying new places because I'm afraid of the outcome. But let me tell you Carol, nail technician did an amazing job!!! To begin with I took my daughter & a little friend, they were welcomed with cookies and water, unlike usual nail salons they made the kids feel welcomed with a nice cozy couch to sit on! So my nails were lifting from the previous set & she was able to save them literally!! When shaping them she made sure they were all even and even asked me to double check before she proceeded with polish! I was un decisive in between two gel colors she had me try both and helped me choose the one I went with! Everyone there overall seems very friendly and approachable which makes your typical nail day very comfortable! I will definitely be going back to Carol, I'm extremely happy with the outcome!!& almost forgot one thing my friends parking meter was up so she was about to rush out when one of the ladies I'm thinking owner offered to add time to her meter down the street which is my eyes is very thoughtful! I was walking down Melrose today and had a little time to spare, so I walked into the first place I saw to get a manicure which happens to be Melrose Beauty Bar. I'm not even a Yelper, but this place was so incredible I felt like I had to tell everyone! This has to be the best place to get a mani/pedi. Having just relocated back to Los Angeles, I was looking for a salon and turned to Yelp for recommendations. Having lived in the area before, I know most people are accustomed to the inexpensive, quick and decent mani/pedi. However, living in Seattle you certainly pay a bit more. With Melrose Beauty Bar, you are going to be paying a little more ($40 for a manicure and pedicure) but it's worth it. Anastasia spent so much time on my pedicure, it was literally the most thorough one I've ever had. Same goes for the manicure. The place is clean, thoughtfully decorated and everyone is very sweet. I go to the Melrose Beauty bar every month to get my eyelashes done! They last a really long time and the vibe there is so nice! Everyone who works there is very polite and makes you feel welcome. She always asks if I need water or if anything is irritating my eyes when doing my lash extensions, and is always happy to help. I'm in love with this place! It's the atmosphere of a high class joint with affordable prices here. The personnel is very friendly and professional. I went there to do gel manicure. If you girls want to feel like a princess go to this place. I took my car to a car wash right next from Melrose beauty bar and I needed to kill my time somewhere. My nails were ready to be redone so I yelped whatever was closest to where I am. The melrose beauty bar showed up and even that it's new and didn't have any reviews I decided to take a risk because it looked so cute on the photos. And I didn't regret. The service was great. They have a lot of different colors. The whole interior is so lovely and one of my favorite thing was they offer you champagne!!!I am definitely coming back and telling my friends about it! Read Less
