Unfortunate experience at the Clarendon location and will not come back - even though I have 3 unused gift cards. The manager was unprofessional, rude and inappropriate. Their systems have been done - unable to take gift cards unless you know the exact amount on it. There was no signage to this effect in the store and the last posting on this topic on FB on 3/8 - not 'all over social media' as communicated to by the manager. I will not go back, will not recommended and post my experience on the various sites. There are plenty of other dry bar options and your time/money should go elsewhere. Read Less

I asked for huge, like Texas big, hair and got flat and gross. Fortunately I was able to go back and fix it myself but I should not have to when I paid for big. If I wanted flat I could have done it myself. Waste of money. Read Less

I have had my nails done at this salon several times. It was formerly a Pinkies salon but the new owners, a pair of adorable sisters have put their signature on the place. They have kept some of the original staff which is nice for returning clientele, the inside has been updated and freshened up, and the atmosphere is very relaxing and inviting. I usually get a manicure and pedicure, but I have also had shellac manicures here. Every visit, I leave very happy with how wonderful my nails look. Read Less

I've been coming to this salon since it's name was "pinkies" and still love it! They do incredibly good gel and also regular mani and pedi's. I love how precise they are and you never leave with a ugly shape or anything unsatisfying. It doesn't smell like chemicals which is a huge plus and they use sterile utensils! I really liked my time here. I got a deluxe manicure, and the ladies who worked here were very nice. They have a pretty impressive array of nail colors to choose from, and the entire building is very clean and neat. It was a relaxing environment. Unfortunately I have a bad review for this place. I typically won't say anything if I have a bad experience but this one was just that bad. I needed a quick eye brow wax and was in the down town area so I stopped in since I was headed to the bank. I got my eye brows done and then went and carried on with my banking. I couldn't figure out why my right eye brow hurt so bad. When I got to the car I looked in the mirror and the lady had waxed off all of the skin underneath my eye brow. I was mortified and so I walked back in and she proceeded to tell me that's what it looked like when I walked in!! Are you kidding? They did nothing to make my experience better not even an I'm sorry for screwing up so bad. I was in complete shock! DO NOT go here for any waxing, I have been getting my eye brows done for 13 years and never once has this happened. I will never step foot in that place again, that was just bad business. Read Less

After trying nearly every nail salon in Los Altos, I finally found the best! Hygia Nails & Spa is amazing- manicures and pedicures are thorough, look beautiful and last. The salon is calm and peaceful, and literally sparkling clean (and I am hyper paranoid about this). All of the employees are sweet, kind and respectful. For a nail salon located in downtown Los Altos, I expected a TOP NOTCH experience. But unfortunately I got the exact opposite.1. They overbooked their appointments so we had to wait for our service even though we had an appointment for 3 princess manicures and 2 regular manicures. 2. Only one of our girls received a princess manicure, and the other 2 girls received only color, and they tried to charge us for a full princess manicure price.3. I was badly cut on my left middle finger. The manicurist then put a solution on the cut which stung extremely bad. She then had the nerve to tell me I had too much skin and I should put oil on my nail bed to minimize the skin growth. REALLY?! 4. My nail color changed color under the heat lamp and they tried to say it was the color of the lights, when in fact the top coat was burnt from the heat and change my white nail polish to a toasted marshmallow color. The manager told me to come back tomorrow because they were too busy to fix it now!WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!!!! Read Less

My appointment began 15 minutes late with no apology. After the brief consultation, my hair washing included having my head banged against the bowl 3 or 4 times. After I moved to the chair, my very tangled hair was only brushed about 2/3 of the way before sectioning took place, which meant that the tangles were then ripped through by the round brush. I've heard of using the cold air setting to set a section, but it was used for the majority of my blow out which meant that mo...st sections were not 100% dry and had to be doubled back to with hot air. Two random sections at the top were set with Velcro rollers, crooked, and when they were taken out the curl from them made the hair underneath flip out. By the time I got home the flipping was so bad that I had to rush to completely rest my hair in Velcro rollers to correct the way it was laying on my head. So. I rush in to my previously arranged appointment that I specifically requested a specific stylist who did an excellent job on my hair last time only to find out that she no longer works there. WHAT?? Why wasn't I given a courtesy call before rushing from work, paying to park and being excited to get my blow out? I am so disappointed and actually quite upset that the one stylist that I wanted no longer works there. I was told that some other stylist was assigned to me now. Um...NO. Totally unacceptable. I will not be returning. Id rather pay more at a salon who can accommodate my request or at least ASK if it's ok that I get a different person. I'm DONE WITH CHERRY! Sorry not sorry. I do not usually write reviews-only read them, but my second visit to Pinkies in Los Altos was very disappointing. I received a full acrylic set without color only gel overlay. I tipped my Tech $10 and left. When I got outside I noticed my new full set had bubbles in the acrylic and my nails were filed crooked. My FULL set cost me $70 not including the tip.
