4 1/2 stars if I could give it! For me, the only thing I didn't like was prices! I went to get acrylic nails with gel which cost me 30 dollars. He did stiletto shape and I really like them! I had Kevin because a bunch of people on yelp recommended him and I also recommend him. He is really nice and seems like he knows what he is doing. I came here on a whim because my nails were looking janky and I wanted to fix it sooner than later - so I yelped for a location near my work and this place seemed promising. I called to make an appointment (originally wanted Kevin or Annie since most reviews were raving about them), but they were already booked so I requested Tina since somebody had mentioned her on Yelp also.Right off the bat when Tina came to fetch me for my appointment, she "greeted" me by asking who had referred me to her - no hello or anything. When I told her I saw her name on Yelp, she instantly had a negative reaction because it was almost 6pm and she was ready to bounce and go home. I understand that it's Viet New Year and she probably wanted to go home to spend time with her family, but I felt it was extremely unprofessional as she didn't try to hide her dissatisfaction of the fact that she wanted to leave already. She rushed through the entire nail process (I got a gel manicure, and had to get an acrylic as well as a fill for some nails that had grown out). She didn't bother to clean my cuticles or even make my nails the same shape. She only used an electric filer to remove previous gel and went a lil too ham on my natural nails. The purpose of the fill was to make my nail more even, but she made my nails bumpier instead. I asked twice for my nails to be almond shaped, but she kept rounding them out and I just gave up, hoping I could fix it myself at home. By that point, I was over it. Now both of us just wanted to go home. There are many more little things I could nitpick about, but I think you get the idea. It was a bad experience and I have never felt like I wasted my money on a nail appt. more than this moment. I can't speak for all the nail technicians though as it seemed all the girls around me were having satisfactory experiences. I get the idea of "you get what you paid for", but I pay the same (if not a little less) at the place I usually go to and have always come out satisfied. I have sat through some bad nail experiences and have never felt as compelled to make a bad review.My one star is for the cute husky who was hanging around. No frills nail salon with highly skilled manicurists. Conveniently located on 7th street in Long Beach, this spacious salon is one of the only spots in town that opens at 9am, ideal for ladies like me who like to get an early start on the day. I walked in at 9am for an acrylic fill and pedicure, and was greeted with a warm smile. The nice lady did a great job on my basic pedicure ($14) while we waited for the other employees to arrive. My manicurist was Kevin, who is truly talented, intuitive, and very nice to talk to. One of my nails was badly broken under the acrylic, and he handled it effortlessly. Normally I get bad anxiety when getting my nails done by someone new, but his skill level put me completely at ease. The shape of my nails at the conclusion of my service were identical to my previous manicure, which is a difficult task for most manicurists to accomplish. The price was very reasonable at $26 for a fill with nail art. I chose an ombré design, which he was able to do with regular polish (I hate gel). Overall a fantastic experience. I went for the first time today and I am so happy that I did. I had an appointment with Kevin. Tina did my pedicure. They we're both great and Jenny, Kevin's daughter did my nail design and she is the bomb.I definitely will be back. I got what I wanted for for a great price. That's hard to come by at nail salons. I get my acrylic nails done frequently here. They last two weeks before I need another fill, and without using gel polish, I only have a few chips in my nail polish two weeks, which is impressive because I am at the gym lifting weights every day. Tracy is great with acrylic fills, and Kathy is so sweet and wonderful with pedicures! The prices for the quality you get here is why I don't go anywhere else but here. I only paid $20 for the original set (including regular nail polish, not gel, and no cuticle treatment), and then $14 to fill in and change the color. However, for the first time last week, Tracy did start charging me an extra $2 for trimming my nails with the fill, which I don't appreciate and has never happened before, so be warned. Extra bits: They accept card, including Discover. Parking is free street parking, but their side of the street is usually filled, so I have to park on the opposite side and use the crosswalk. Tracy did a WONDERFUL job on my gel acrylics. She made tasteful suggestions and helped me understand the process, since it was my first time ever getting acrylics. Above all, she made sure I thoroughly understood what any add-ons would cost before going ahead, so that we were on the same page. She really took her time filing down the acrylics to my liking and perfecting everything, and yet it only took 1.5 hours. Plus she's a sweetheart. I will definitely be coming back!Kathy took care of my gel pedicure and did a great job too, and gave a nice foot massage.The facilities are clean, and the pedicure chairs are comfortable. The gel acrylic manicure with chrome and rhinestone add-ons cost 45, and the gel pedicure cost 25. So prices are not dirt-cheap, but fair. This place is great. I was looking for a nail shop that uses permanent gel.  I called about a dozen places and i found this nail shop. i think i paid $60 for a permanent gel mani and regular gel pedi. My nail look great lost of compliments and inquires if they are natural. Pedi was good also. Parking is street parking. They take credit cards.  They are closed sunday. I like to go early Friday's before the crowd gets there.  I also like that several technicians are available so you can get a seat without terribly long waits. Used to book with Le all the time, but found out she's no longer here. So I got paired with a different artist today-Service was rushed. She did not tend to my nails as Le normally would have. Feel like I got half the services I should have gotten. Rude and could have cared less about the pains I've been feeling with my ingrown toenail. Still managed to give her tip. When she was done, she took the money + tip and went off. With no thank you, no "Finished." Sloppy finish, uneven coats. I've gotten my nails done here twice in the past month and both times were for painted acrylic finger nails (the second time for a fill and color change). I've only gotten my nails done acrylic one before I went here and it was in Bali, Indonesia, where they messed up badly! So I don't have much reference to what is great nails, but mine looked great when I finished here both times compared to in Bali and they lasted for several weeks before I needed a fill (I had only a few chips in my nail polish two weeks after, and mine was regular polish not gel- which is impressive because I do a lot with my hands including going to the gym everyday). The ladies here are honestly not friendly. They are cold and do not at ALL like when you ask questions or tell them politely that they missed or smudged a spot (which does happen - they also don't like when you don't like the rough square shape they give your nails or you tell them they filed a nail crooked, which they do). I came here on a Friday and it was PACKED. I usually go to Pinkies, but it was an hour wait so I decided to try this place out. I read all the good reviews and thought why not. If you don't get the workers named in all the 5-star reviews, don't expect a 5-star job. The only good thing about this place is that it has a lot of chairs and workers so it's pretty fast paced. They also have a good gel selection. The lady who did my pedicure did a good job, although sometimes I felt she was cutting too much of my cuticles. On the other hand, the lady who did my manicure did a terrible job. One, she used the electric filer to take of my previous gel and filed some of my real nails cause she looked away for a little. I should've told her to stop, but I was in a rush. I prefer the acetone/aluminum foil route when taking off gel. She did a super sloppy job when painting my nails. There were hills and mountains on my nails. It was not even at all. I couldn't look at my nails so I got them re-done at a different place a couple days later. If I were to come again, I will be sure to book an appointment with Kevin. He did my friend's nails and it looked so good. Have I really gotten my nails done here three times? I don't frequently get my nails done, as I am a nurse and I wash my hands constantly! So nail polish won't stay for long, unless I get a gel manicure. However, we are discouraged from getting gel nails at work as well.Nevertheless, I had a wedding to go to over the weekend, and I needed to make sure I at least had a manicure. Every time I come to this place, it's always early in the morning. It's one of the few that opens at 9 am, instead of 10 am. I'm usually one of the first clients there. There is no one person I would ask for until this last time. Great services wonderful staff and reasonable prices. My wonderful daughter has been going there since we moved and i am so glad I found it.
