Last Thursday we held a "bridal pedi party" at this shop.  Great location for this as they have the chairs in a big circle and a large table in the middle.  They let us bring in food and champagne.  The staff was very friendly and kept everyone moving.  They did a good job on the pedicures and accommodates each individual.  Personally... they could do a better foot massage but other than that it was exactly what we were look for that day. Came here today for my wife birthday. My 6 year old daughter saved up her money to bring mom here for her birthday. I was told over the phone the pedicure was 45 mins long. 35 mins later my wife texts me, " we're done"!!!! What the FUCK!!! I got fuckin ripped off. 10 min is 10 min. This is my second time here and both times, services were ok. I always manage to get the girl that hates her job and outwardly displays it. I wouldn't have come in this time but I got a gift certificate from my children for Mothers Day. Piss poor job on buffing out your heels! she literally spent almost zero time doing it. I actually asked for for the buffer so I could do it myself, hardly anytime soaking my feet in the water. I don't even think she put anything in it.....no soap, color, or suds. Massage was horrible. No foot massage at all. None. Leg massage felt like an 11 year old boy was rubbing my legs. Woman put in almost no effort so I didn't feel anything. The color she put on my toes was wrong. By this time, I just wanted out of there. I won't ever come back. I hate this place. I left feeling uncomfortable and kinda sad. My children put there money together and wanted me to have a relaxing time. All I kept thinking about was how my kids were ripped off buying me a gift certificate here. Going to a nail salon is a very personal experience and the experience can change greatly based on who you see and what you're expecting. When I go to a nail salon I want a relaxing environment. One of the things that I love the most about coming here is how quiet the salon is. They are also very clean. I saw reviews of others noticing a lack of cleanliness, but I have not noticed that issue. They always pull out fresh instruments, new buffing boards, etc. If you get acrylics, Vi puts her instruments in the cleaner as soon as she's done and grabs fresh ones to get ready for her next client. There are 2 reasons why I can't give a 5 star review, on a couple of occasions while having acrylics I had an issue with them not being filled and just repainted. What happened? They peeled off before I could come back for another fill. This happened almost 4 years ago, and has not happened recently. The second reason is something others have noticed as well: it's not a very friendly bunch. I was a little worried to come here after reading the reviews but I had an AMAZING experience. The girls that work here are pretty quiet (which is nice when you want to relax) but they are extremely thorough. I got a shellac manicure and she spent a great amount of time just shaping my nails and cutting back my cuticles to make sure they look perfect. I also got a pedicure and the girl gave a very long leg massage and also spent awhile making sure my polish was just right. I'll definitely be back and recommend this location to others. Read Less

Is 'okayest' a word?! If not, I'm making it one. My experience today at Bollinger Nail Salon can only be described as the world's okayest mani/pedi. I understand that services like manicures and pedicures are luxuries. I save and budget for these luxuries, and always look forward to them. I've had a gift certificate for a manicure at Bollinger for three years now, and I finally decided to use it. While I was there I decided to get a pedicure too. Being that they charge significantly more than several other nail salons in town I was expecting a bit of extra pampering, or at least a really amazing job done on my polish. Sadly I got neither. Not so much as a smile, or even hot water in my pedicure bowl. (When I asked for hotter water I was told I "takes forever to heat up".) It was lukewarm at best, but it's not like my feet were in there for long. My manicure and pedicure lasted less than a half hour total. They did an okay job on the cutting and filing. An ok job on the polishing. A less than ok job on the massage, and a less than ok job on the customer service. The place was packed, so maybe I was rushed because I'm not a regular? Who knows. This place has gone down hill. I used to go here often when I lived close. The lighting in the pedicure area is calming and there used to be little noise. The service used to be top notch... but not the case anymore. I went a few months back and it was okay. I went very recently and felt I received minimal service. The woman who did my pedicure left me with cold water and didn't bother to ask what I wanted or ask how I liked the white on my french manicure. The woman doing my nails was horrible. After every nail during the steps (filing, trimming or cuticle) she would stop and pause and talk to the woman doing my pedicure. She did a crappy job. She also put lotion on me after painting my nails which weren't dry so my nails are not smooth and are uneven. Horrible. I was checked out by her, not someone else so I didn't bother to tell her how I felt. I just won't come back. I miss my relaxing place in Dublin. I might have to hit them up. I recommend tightening up ship and turning social hour back into relaxation hour for the customer. Read Less

I've been to a few of their locations. This one is very relaxing. The staff had been very polite and have always done a good job. I've read a few other reviews stating the staff didn't talk to them. Lol I like to relax so I'm perfectly happy with them focusing on their work...maybe that's why they've always done a good job for me. I'm new to Livermore from Danville. I've been to several other places around Livermore and my shellac lasts much longer from here. I'm not easy on my nails and my toes look good for at least a month, while my nails last about 3wks. After that it's not so much the shellac looks bad it's that my nails have grown a lot. Read Less

I have been going to Bollinger off & on for many years. I used to go to the one in San Ramon where I worked.  Now in Livermore. After yesterday I don't think I will be back. I had a gal who wouldn't even talk to me, even after asking her a question. I brought my own polish, brand new bottle and she was rushing so that she knocked it off the side chair table and it broke all over the floor. She then decided to talk and said she would find me a similar color. There really wasn't one. So I had to choose a color I didn't want. She told me she would give me the new bottle. I told her I didn't want it. Instead of giving me the service for free they asked how much my bottle was and took off $6.00. Big deal! The place looks very nice and the woman who runs the front desk was great, but that's where the good points end. The woman who was doing my mani/pedi did the minimal amount of work possible. She also charged me for a Signature Spa manicure and didn't give me a hand & arm massage! She also rushed through my pedicure. She barely exfoliated my feet. They're still rough. Beautiful place to relax and nice set up high in downtown. The last 2 times I've come here with someone and we get the same pedicures, my one of the 2 techs always seem to finish a lot faster than the other even though we start at the same time. This place looks nice but pay CLOSE attention to how they clean the pedi bowls - or should I say lack of cleaning .  It's scary...I found only one person who was good at this salon, however her attitude is horrible as well as most of the workers.  They don't speak a word to you.  I tried being friendly but it didn't work .  I felt like a machine was doing my nails.  Oh, they talk plenty to their co-workers, I'll leave it at that.Don't be even 3 minutes late or they fill your spot with a walk in and then tell you 25 minutes to an hour you must wait- really. My girlfriends and I came in for mani/pedis, and the place is BEAUTIFUL!  A lot of chairs that were very comfortable. The woman who did my nails, however, was not very friendly. My nails look nice, but besides not being friendly there was no massage- it was basically just rubbing lotion on my feet and calves, and very fast. I felt like she was rushing through it. The remote for the massage chair was attached to the side so I couldn't see the buttons to push to start and stop, and so she was the one in control of the massage. When my time ran out, she pressed the button again, but it didn't work. At that point I didn't want to keep bugging her about it so I just went without the massage chair for the rest of my pedicure  I don't think I'd go back. Read Less

very bad experience. I got a gel manicure here and it was horrible - clumpy, nail polish in my cuticles, uneven, nail polish wasn't even on the end of some of my nails, etc... So I told them I was unhappy and they said I could come back the next morning to get them redone since they were closing. I agreed and came back the next morning. I came back and they sat me (10 minutes after my appt) with the SAME woman. She said "oh you're back?" In a snarky tone.. Then she proceeds to violently take off my gel polish with a very harsh nail file to the point of making me bleed. She noticed I was bleeding and then said "your skin is so sensitive.." And then doesn't say sorry. THEN she puts alcohol on my cut..... So I'm sitting there with my finger burning and then she goes on to do the same thing to my next finger. I can't take it anymore so I tell her to stop and get a refund (which they told me they couldn't do at first) ... Worst experience everrrrrr I will NEVER come back and neither should you Read Less

The place is beautiful, my friend and I came in for two pedicures, my friend's lady was awesome. Mine on the other hand, complained she was tired from the day before. I'm sorry that's not an excuse to do a bad job. When doing my cuticles she pulled my skin so much it hurt, the massage was mediocre, she forgot the hot towels until the pedicure was done and she didn't wipe off the oil from my legs and the paint job was so so, it's a shame. I've been coming here since they opened and can honestly say it is the BEST place to get your nails/toes done. I live in both LA and the Bay Area. Hands down... I have NEVER been able to find a place that I love as much as this one. I hate to give away my secret... But Vi is the BEST tech I've ever had. She has always done my nails so perfectly and always takes her time. I hate it when I have to get my nails done in LA by someone else. Anyway, the place is clean and amazing and soothing. I go to Bollinger specifically for the pedicures and I have to say it is the cleanest nail salon in Livermore. The manicurists open a clean set of instruments for each customer and dispose of the pumice stone and nail file after each service. Before Bollinger opened and when I haven't been able to get into Bollinger, I have seen some filthy nail salons out there. I've have also seen manicurists use implements on more than one person without cleaning them at other salons. This is against the State Law and is very dangerous as it can transfer disease from one customer to another. As others mentioned, the staff at Bollinger is not overly friendly, but I'd rather have sterile instruments used on me than someone chatting throughout the pedicure. My polish stays intact without chipping for several weeks between pedicures. I very rarely wear closed toe shoes and my toenails do take a beating. The pedicure room is in a separate room from where the acrylic nails are applied, so unlike other salons, you don't have to breathe the fumes while you are getting your pedicure. Sometimes you can smell the fumes in the elevator, but don't let that deter you as it did the pregnant lady that said she cancelled her appointment on the spot because she smelled the fumes in the elevator. I came in yesterday to get a full service pedicure ( scrub/ wax combo ). The pedicure itself was very nice, and relaxing.  I did notice however the lady who did my feet was in a rush, ( the place was empty aside from myself and another woman) which was frustrating. The massage  which is suppose to make you not wanna leave the place was disappointing. The woman next to me sat in her seat as her toes dried, the lady who painted my nails insist I get up seconds after she painted them to move into a different chair ,( again, no one was waiting) causing my toes to smudge from moving. She fixed them which was nice. But I am very upset that I paid 40 dollars for a pedicure that chipped within a few hours of having it.  I will stick to my cheap 20 $ pedicures elsewhere that last forever. Thanks. Read Less

I agree, clean and a nice environment but for some reason I cannot find a salon that will treat a child or youth pre teen the same as an adult? If you pay the same for a treatment they should be treated with respect and have an equal service. I am disappointed at the snooty service and how if you say anything about your service or ask a gentle question, they speak privately in their language which is not polite. You know they are ripping on you and the youth service is not equal at all and done in 10 minutes. Try it for yourself, see if they don't "really" do anything. Booooo. Read Less

This was HORRIBLE! The person who did my signature mani, was nice enough and spoke English but when I got home I realized I have a 3 inch burn on my arm from the hot towel wrap. The person who was doing my signature spa pedi didn't understand a word I said, never smiled, my feet were a mess after.......polish on skin, heels weren't done, still rough and actually went home removed the horrid polish job and redid it myself at home. I love Bollinger in Livermore! Their pricing is competitive and the service is great. The salon has a very open floorplan so you don't feel crowded and the employees are only allowed to speak English, even to each other. It's definitely a calming place to get your mani/pedi at. Read Less

Bollinger Nail Salon is very impressive, maybe the best place for pedicures I've ever been. It is clean, and the decor is very soothing. While the salon is on the second floor of the building, they installed an elevator, which is helpful for those of us who need a little extra help. Most importantly, the pedicure itself was amazing, and they use new tools for each customer, which is a definite must-have (hygienically). There was a slight language barrier with the lady who painted my nails, but she was very nice and did not give up.
