I've given this place SO many chances in the last 3-4 years.  No more.  I'm done.  The gentleman who seems to be in charge of everyone is rude - particularly to his own staff - rushes the customers through to accommodate every walk-in no matter how much it inconveniences the current customers.  They were so busy the day I went in they actually waxed a woman's face in a chair smooshed in between customers having their nails done because the private wax room was occupied. That is just utterly unprofessional and unhygienic.As one of the other posters has mentioned, the lack of clear language skills creates an invisible barrier and the manager's tone when speaking in a foreign language to the technicians is hostile and rude.  I asked to have my fingernails shortened but they are SO short now it's painful even to type.  The nail polish was applied far too thickly and the overall job is just sloppy.  Sorry.  Won't be giving them any more of my business.  Suggest that you don't either. They were quick which was great. They do not accept reservations so be prepared to wait if they are busy. I came in to get my acrylics off and to get a manicure. My girl took a new plastic nail tip to pry my acrylics off. It hurt and my nails were greatly damage. She said she recommended gel polish instead of the standard because my nails were so thin. I asked, not knowing much about gel polish, if it could be removed at home like normal polish. She told me yes so I went for the up sale. As some may know this is not true and I would need to go back to get them removed if they hadn't started to lift off my nails in a week's time. Tried them twice - mediocre the first time and abysmal results the second. My wife only wanted a simple manicure and polish but agreed to try gel again, and it lasted less than three days. End not sealed, painted off nail onto skin, hanging pieces of cuticle, etcThey did agree to take off the gel and redo the manicure, after a bit of an argument. One gal tried to say it wasn't their color, until we told them who gave the manicure and that it was this past Saturday with the credit card terminal down...oh, okay...no problem... I recently retired and moved into this area from the Los Angeles area.  I was pleased with my experience with a new set on my first experience here.  They don't take appts which was great the first time I walked in but very annoying when it's busy and you have to wait about 40 min.  The second time I walked into the busy salon and asked for a fill and literally had several women mumble something under their breath in their native language which I felt was rather rude. I felt like I was bothering them or disturbing them.  I stuck it out and had decent nails.  However, the last time was the final straw for me.  It wasn't busy and I came in with all nails intact, however, well past when I should have come in for a fill.  She was so rude to me throughout the time she worked on my nails.  She insulted me and basically berated me saying I'm retired and have nothing to do so I should have come in sooner. I explained to her that although I may be retired - I have plenty to do!   I was furious and really should have left at that point.  I won't be going back.  When  I go into a salon for nails and pedicure - I refer to it as 'me' time.....and expect a pleasant experience of relaxation and enjoyment.  Stay away from here unless you want to feel belittled and irritated. I have been going here for three years. They do a good job with my nails however:1) It is so annoying when the technicians talk in Vietnamese while you are sitting there and we KNOW they are talking about clients; it is obvious by their body language.  I always get the feeling they do not like Americans but rather their money. 2) The man at desk #1 is so arrogant. As his wife sits next to him he openly flirts with anyone girl young and pretty while being passé to other clients. Over the years I have observed him actually glaring and try to intimidate you if you ask for a particular technician. Even my husband commented on his bad behavior.3) The place is filthy. Wish the Health Department and OSHA would drop in.  I wish we had more salons; more competition. Why do I go there? I like the lady who does my nails. She is sweet and does nice work. Read Less

The worst! Not sure these providers have ever experienced what a manicure/pedicure actually are. They have one speed...fast....no interest in doing a good job...just hurry to get the next person in the chair. Filed my nails badly, even my toes. I feel sorry for the people of Lake County if they think the culture in this salon bears any resemblance to a real mani/pedi. They think that as long as the polish is on,the job is done. It was decent probably for the area but sub par to anything you could get in SF.Very good leg massage and relatively clean and hygienic.Their actual nail service was basic- nothing great as they left too much cuticle for my taste. The polish was applied too thickly.Staff speaks very little English which puts an undue burden on the customer trying to explain issues.  As someone who speaks another language when I live in another country, this never ceases to amaze me.Also I paid for a $5 callus treatment of 3-5 minutes, yet they only left the solution on less than 1 minute.  So, I don't think it was advertised accurately and not worth the additional amount. My friend and I have had nothing but good experiences here.  I'm extremely fussy about the quality of work and have been getting mani/pedi's most of my adult life.  I will drive miles out of my way to get it right.  Although I live in Windsor CA, I visit friends up here and try to stop off at First Nails before going home. I used to go awhile ago and they were much better at customer service, I would always get gel nails and pedi, the nails were ok not the best but the customer service was good, has since gone way down hill, had a different tech this last time so rude, I almost walked out in the middle and wish I had the nails are horrible I mean the worst I ever had thick and ugly I need to find a new place to go, and I wish I had gotten this woman's name so I could personally point her out, she was foul. Only ever get your eyebrows done there. I had a pedicure done there, and ended up getting a toe fungus infection. Never ever again. And if you don't in detail explain to them what you want, you'll just get something random. Read Less

Major health concerns with this place1. Unsanitary conditions2. Unlicensed staff with no knowledge of health or safety 3. Unlawful performance of duties for which they are not licensed such as waxing. 4. This place is illegally performing services that they are not licensed to perform. Check the duties under MANICURIST at the California Board of Cosmetology. They are not licensed to wax people! They are also performing under unsanitary conditions and employ people who are not trained or licensed. Last time I went in there were 7 people performing services, waxing, manicures, pedicures and 3 licenses on the wall that were expired in 2012. BEWARE Read Less

Visiting from out of town and needed mani pedi. One thing is small town prices but can't avoid that. Special mani pedi with rock massage $35, good special . Busy by 10 am on Saturday. Gentleman said hello and came to us to ask what we needed. He did my Moms mani with gel and seemed good at it. They're midnight pedi with gel is $50. At home mine is $40 so a bit higher but going rate. Didn't have a color chart which I prefer to look at. The colors are on the nail polish jar. Getting a manicure so I'll see how it goes,So there is 7 ladies and 2 guys. 1 guy is the owner guy but does nails, I had other guy.  He was good with massage and painting. Not detailed with cleaning on toenails or bottom of feet. I would say he did half way but since I get pedicure faithfully I was OK. I'd come beck but ask for a girl. The owner guy ended up doing my Moms  cuz  they were keeping the flow going. He seemed to be detailed as he went back and  cleaned her cuticles a bit, overall happy and would come back when visiting her again. Read Less

This place used to be good when they first opened, but every time I go back they are worse and worse. They are so rude, and dirty, and sloppy. The "boss guy" sits around and tells the girls to jump from one customer to the next, WITHOUT CLEANING UP ANYTHING!! It is so dirty and nasty in there, I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! You will get fungus from their pedicure spa's and their acrylic drills! They have NO customer service, and they are unsanitary! It reminds me of those documentaries of smuggling immigrants into the US and exploiting them for slave labor! It's THAT kind of feeling in there!! Read Less

Had my very first Pedicure here. I was visiting from Arkansas. My sister and I went and we were walk-in's. There were wonderful massage chairs and lots of them. My clinician was very good. Did clip some cuticle but put some blood stop on it. He did a very beautiful flower on my big toe for extra money. I would diffidently recommend this place to anyone. Great job. Read Less
