Love this place — the team of manicurists they have here are very dedicated and caring of their clients. They always do a fantastic job with my nails. Especially Kathy — she is my girl! Pet peeve: made an appointment ahead for 4 people since I knew we'd have a hard time walking in as a foursome and because we had a limited window. Arrived 15 minutes early and then sat for 45 minutes. They finally started one of us then a second a full 40 minutes after our appointment time. I decided to skip it as I could see they wouldn't get to me for a while. Place was mostly empty--only three customers beside us with about 6 empty chairs but they only had 3 manicurists. IN LOVE WITH MY NAILS. Totally obsessed. I got the SNS nails - sparkly pink. Kyle was awesome - I am really weird about getting my nails done; like hate the whole process. I know weird! He made the whole process actually enjoyable though. So the 5 stars are for him and his amazing job. They are beautiful. I almost gave 4 because my sister wanted to cash her 8 dollars on her gift card and they refused to do it which is actually against California state law and is just rude. Besides that. This is a place where you should bring your mom, dad, and friends. The work environment here is phenomenal! I would definitely come back and revisit this place again! Horrible, experience. I'm a cosmetologist so i know how to do my nails but sometimes feels good just to relax .my nails were not straight, and nail not clean enough so because of that when they apply the nail polished looked all lumpy and not even.more like a hom made work. When u pay $30 for a pedicure that doesn't feel so good. Asked the lady to do my nails straight across since she Deming even ask what i want and she was defensive. When my nails were done were so bad that i ask her is she could buf them and do them again more even . She was defensive and didn't seem to care much. She asked someonelse do to the job since she got tired. The second lady did just as bad as the first so i had to ask them ta take polish off since I wasn't going to walk around with my cuticles all painted . I'm from San Diego and I love the Happy Nails near my house but I was up in the area for my wedding. I was running around the day before trying to finish all the little things and I was a little pinched for time so I popped into this Happy Nails. Well, let me tell you....sweet Mary did my nails PERFECTLY for my wedding. This place really deserves more than 5 stars, but that's all I'm allowed to give on here. First off, BEAUTIFUL salon. Hands down most beautiful nail salon I've ever been to. Brand new, modern, beautiful lighting. Very reasonably priced too! I had a fill with gel coat, pedicure with gel coat, and a wax and it was just $95. My nails and toes look PERFECT. And the wax lady really knew what she was doing. They have this roller thing that the wax comes out of...I've never seen it before. It's like basically a big ball point pen that wax comes out of and there are different sizes depending on what size area you're waxing. Makes it so you can really easily control where the wax goes. I like this location of Happy Nails and keep returning. (I've gone to the one in Aliso Viejo as well)  They remodeled and it is bigger now. People have been friendly.  I have never had to wait and never make appointment.  It is handy.  I have had good luck with gel manicures and pedicures. My only complaint is that they try to add things on even after I have clearly stated exactly what I want and don't want.  I know they are supposed to get us to have more things done but trying to talk me into things I don't want is annoying. Absolutely love this place! I've been treated very well and they do great work. I have walked in a few times and didn't have to wait very long. I have also made prior appointments, which is helpful as they are expecting me. My absolute favorite is Kyle for manicure and/or gel. He's absolutely incredible and does precise, clean and great work. Since I met him, he's the only one who's done my manicures. Went in for a mani/pedi with my teen daughter last week. I made a quick trip to restroom where I was greeted with a very healthy roach running around. I looked around the bathroom and saw the counters and drawers all water worped and the sink outside of restroom narley. I've been going to this location for 10+ years and  .. honestly ... never a bad experience. I'm always a walk-in and have never had to wait. (Even on the occasional Saturday, although I often go at around 3pm on weekdays.) Their chairs are super comfy and the people are careful and kind. The newly remodeled shop is sparkly clean.I bring my own polish and get a regular pedi.I'm surprised at all the negative reviews. I tell them exactly what I want and that's what I get. I got an outstanding pedi today from Daisy, who tidied up my feet perfectly. I've had a great experience here. Nail work is not an easy gig and they aren't going to know what you like the first time. I suggest finding someone you like and otherwise I always get in here and never wait. I like that it's spent the street from my house and it's big bright and airy. Sure the guy up front has been hit or miss but I've never had a bad experience and one time he was super nice and brought me hot green tea! It's not easy having a business so I think sometimes you have to cut people a break. Yelp can kill a business so much easier than bringing them up. The gel manicure at happy nails is one word.. HORRIBLE!!! After one day the nails look like they have been on for at least 2 weeks! There's nothing else I can say about it! I guess it's my fault for not checking their reviews before going in for gel color. I work in the shopping center and desperately needed my nails done, so I went in on my lunch. The workers there aren't friendly at all, it's just not a "Happy" environment. I asked for gel, no manicure and the technician didn't seem pleased with my request. She l didn't even sit down while she did my nails, nor smile. When she started painting my nails I realized it wasn't even the color I had picked, she said this one was better! So for this unpleasant experience, and poor customer service I was charged $25! I normally go to Nails By Holly off Marguerite and Crown Valley and they have always done me right!!! Tom, the receptionist was extremely RUDE when I had asked to try 2 nail polishes to choose one. When I told him that he is being rude, he said we are busy and we don't have time for you!!!!Avoid this place. It's a mess! Rude receptionist who doesn't want to let you try 2 colors even?!? Awful place. I'm so disappointed in the service...  I got a deluxe mani & pedi  $45 plus $15 for color.  My bill was $64 plus tip.  They were so rough on my feet from " the massage"  it wasn't relaxing at all. Before they were even done with my mani and pedi, the lady told me the total....But they weren't done. I paid anyway and she asked right away " money for tip, money  for tip"  I was so annoyed. Really bad experience here today. My girlfriend just left here and is so upset about the awful quality of the manicure. These workers don't take pride in their work. The manicure is sloppy and uneven. The matte finish was the worst I've ever seen. Total waste of time and money. There is too much competition to bother with this place. Disgraceful. I am not sure about other people, but I have been attending this salon for the past few years and love it... From Tom the manager to the various stylists such as Kathy, Helen, Nicole, Kyle, Kevin, Vans, all of the other ladies are very nice and accommodating. If you are courteous, kind and clear - they want to give you want you want (nails, waxing, neck massage) and provide good services as well as a bottle of water, etc.I would recommend that you know what you want (i.e. color(s), pictures -  don't come in and hem haw not knowing what you want when they are busy and stand in the way or don't make an appointment & get upset if they can't immediately take you on a Saturday or Sunday during the busiest time when you come in which is not realistic which as they will want to give you want you as they value your business want to provide that service in a timely fashion (better for you & their business)I also love the newly renovated shop which looks great and is much more spacious & roomy! Walk-ins are serviced on a first come first serve basis - but make an appointment if you don't want to wait during busy times or you want to select your nail technician. I came today for the first time in a few years and I remembered why I left.  The service is terrible and the work is something a six-year-old could do a better job at.  I came in today for a manicure and a pedicure.  I sat down and 23 minutes later I was in my car.  Yes, this includes paying.  They did a sloppy job, didn't get my foot massage, and it looks like a two-year-old painted my toenails.   The manicure wasn't much better.  Well they are a little less expensive than other salons in the area, they need to be because their work sucks.  If you want a really good pedicure, I suggest the one in Aliso Viejo.  It's much better managed and the technicians do a much better job.
