Belo is much more than a blow dry bar. The vibe is so positive! Make-up, cut and color are now offered. Kaylyn Kling is so talented. I am an older lady and mostly white haired. Kaylyn does my color and highlights so well that my French relatives marveled and were so impressed by my "natural" look. Kaylyn figured out how to cut my hair becomingly and introduced me to new products like Push Powder which really work on my hair. I am sorry to have to write this review but I felt it was necessary.  I booked an appointment two days in advance and requested Gregory.  I had an event and specifically requested him because he seems to be the only one there that can do a decent blowout.   So I call in the day of the appointment. Again specifically mentioning that my appointment was with him. They said yes, I'm on the schedule for 3:00 pm and that he has another appointment at 4 so I could not come later. So I show up for my appointment and they told me my appt was not with him but someone else. And someone else walks in and is getting her hair done by Gregory.  This has happened to me once before when I requested him for a special occasion and I was stuck with someone else.  I mentioned it and they said that all I have to do is make a request and that it wouldn't happen again. Well, it did.  The blow out I had was terrible.  No body to it at all. Biggest waste of money.   And it's totally not cool to change an appointment on a customer when they've requested someone, even if someone should call after them and request the same stylist. NOT COOL.  The only reason I have gone to this salon a few times is because of Gregory. But, looks like if you make an appointment with him, another customer will trump your request. Read Less

Went on a Sunday for date night hair and make up. Had just gotten surgery so I couldn't do it myself. Let me tell you - my new go to for blow outs and make up!  The stylist and make up artist was amazing. What should have been a stress free, relaxing afternoon, with one less thing to do for my sister in laws wedding day, turned into an incredibly inconvenient, awful experience. After scrolling through pictures of work done here at Belo, I showed my stylist some pictures for inspiration. She never once gave me the impression or communicated to me that she was incapable of trying to recreate or provide something similar. After MULTIPLE retries and a finished product that was LES...S than stellar (dealing with & accepting what was done felt to be my only option), I had to return a couple of hours later to have it fixed & redone because I could NOT live what I had done. My first priority to my stylist was it needed to last & a hour after the appointment, I looked as though I had just rolled out of bed (I would provide pictures if I could). A phone call was made to see what could be done to make this experience right & my dollar spent worthy, the manager did bring me back in to fix it. Although my hair was brought back to satisfactory -- which I'm GRATEFUL for Gregory's work with limited time (five stars to him) -- it was incredibly inconvenient & caused much unwarranted stress. The setting is tucked away, yet convenient, on Forest Avenue. I cannot compliment the staff and management enough. Wow! Simply GREAT PEOPLE! It is a pleasure to spend time there. Additionally, as a blow dry bar, Belo offers the best hair products, latest techniques and most fashion savvy stylists to make your hair shine-literally! I went to Belo Dry Bar on a hot, humid day and I have hair that does not like hot, humid days. Everyone from the receptionist to the girl who washed my hair and the stylist who blew out my hair was extremely friendly and helpful. My stylist did an excellent job with my hair, because it was so hot out I knew it was going to be tough to keep it nice all day but it stayed great and I loved it! I was so excited to find Belo Blow Dry Bar while I was visiting Laguna Beach. I had lived there for almost 10 years & was back visiting and didn't want to drive to the Spectrum or really anywhere outside of LB- so I tried them out. The decor is updated and there's beautiful natural light everywhere. The staff was nice and even we're great when I was a few minutes late. Very accommodating and asked all the right questions about what I wanted. They have full services but I only wanted a blow out & because I have purple bangs with my silver gray they were very cautious to make sure it didn't run on my silver. The products were great and I truly left feeling great. The price was reasonable & I will definitely go back the next time I'm visiting. Read Less

ALL Brides... **Attention** if you are getting married in Newport to south OC, this is THE place to have your Hair and make up done the day of your wedding!!! I can't tell you how much Belo- Jessica!!!and ALL the girls at Belo made my wedding day so special!! This is absolutely THE place to get your hair and make-up, blow out etc for all you brides for your wedding party!! And you will definitely come back on a regular basis! First of all if you have around 5 gals in your party you pretty much have the place designated for you and your girls! From the moment we arrived, they we super sweet, extremely accommodating, down to earth, allowed us to bring in some finger foods and beverages the whole vibe was so happy and relaxing! It couldn't have gone any better. Of course it was crazy, lots going on.. But I do want to point out that my step dad who is has MS and was waiting for my mom to get her hair done, was waiting downstairs in his car and it was around lunch time... Jessica was kind enough to run out there and bring him a plate of food while he waited since we were all busy getting ourselves ready. Jessica is the BEST! I made a last minute appointment for hair and makeup, lucky I got in! I was SO happy with the results. I did make up and hair style, didn't do the blow out since I was doing more of an undo. I had her clip my extensions in too. She is super professional and knows what she is doing. Full disclosure - I'm a bit of a blow dry bar addict so I frequent these establishments even when I am traveling. A girl's got to have a her tresses on lock- ya know?!The location is really cute and centrally located to my hotel. The appointment and check in process was courteous and efficient. I was offered a glass of water, which I accepted, but never came. My stylist did a nice job. She listened to what I wanted and definitely gave me the look I was going for. The drawback was my hair felt a little frizzy and a little "crisp" - meaning she used way too much heat for my hair. The high heat is not uncommon at blow out bars since they need to get you in and out. However, most stylists take the adequate amount of time without sacrificing your hair. At the end, my hair looked good and considering if I would've attempted it  on my own -more like great. It just wasn't up to the standard of a blow out bar addict. That said, if I found myself in Laguna Beach I would most likely visit Belo again but would ask for another stylist. Read Less

I love a good blow out bar, and have tried almost all in the South Orange County area. With Belo, I don't have to leave town to get my weekly blow out. My first experiences were in the opening two weeks. My initial experience was the transformation of the old Furioso Salon. The new space is a beautiful, visual treat with chic and feminine grey neutrals and metallics. The owner, Patricia, is talented and gracious. The reason I didn't go back after my first two visits was that my hair, which is thick, was left damp at the root, I was kept waiting and I'm not in love with their product. I did go back this week. Again, with an appointment, I was kept waiting about 20 minutes. Same products. But it is so convenient and the last blow dry was pretty perfect, so I'll be back. Read Less

I do not recommend this blow dry bar to anyone. I made an appointment here a month in advance to get my hair and make-up done for engagement photos, which I told the receptionist about when I was booking. When I arrived for my services, I was told that the make-up artist had an appendicitis a couple days before and would not be doing my make-up. The manager said she could "maybe fit me in" before the photos. I was annoyed b/c I never got a heads up about the make-up cancellation, but understood emergencies happen, and was happy the manager would accommodate me.They wanted to do my hair first, so I was led to the back where one of the women started washing my hair (nothing special, no massage or anything). Then when I was led back to the chair, the woman doing my hair let me know that the manager actually would not be doing my make-up, "sorry." I was given the option to do my own with the make up they had. No thanks. What made me even more upset was that I was sitting with wet hair and had to hang out with these people who had completely inconvenienced me for an hour, after they alluded to the fact that they would complete my services, then changed their mind. I was not happy and the whole experience was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The blow out was nothing great, in fact it was one of the worst I've gotten. Instead of a simple "wave" she put my hair in huge curls that I could have easily done myself.Not worth the trip and definitely not worth the hassle. When they brought me to the register to pay I was very surprised. The manager asked the woman to waive the fee, all of this happening in front of the other women trying to enjoy themselves. They yelled "so sorry!" as I walked out the door - I couldn't handle the passive aggressive people that worked there.
