I went here once for acrylics and they weren't bad. But a few weeks ago I went to go get a pedicure. The lady who was giving me a pedicure was kinda harsh on my right big toe, but I didn't think anything of it. It was sore after but it wasn't a big deal. until a few days later when my toe was swollen and puss was coming out. I had to go to the doctor and get antibotics and I can't do anything physical for a week. AND if it doesn't get better with the antibiotics then I might have to get surgery to have it removed. Just horrible. I walked in with an actual picture of how I wanted my nails. Walked out so unhappy and in tears. I told her I wanted a subtle pink white blend, she ran the pink all the way down, then tried to cover up her mistake with gel polish. I have been her more then 5 times and I am a returning costumer, but I suggest to only ever ask for Van to do full sets/gel manicure or fills because everyone else sucks and will either cut you or it will be uneven and the nails won't all look the same. Took 2 hours for someone other than Van to just to a full set of round French ambre' nails because she kept messing up like she had no clue how to do them, even though SHE offered to do them just like hers (she had a French ambre' as well) they looked nothing like hers. The shape was and still is awful, she was ruff, and cut me twice, second time she drew blood and the shapes aren't all even and all look different. I used the pink powder and it had traces of glitter specs in it and now it's on my nails like that for another 2 weeks. I have never had to tell Van more then once how I like or want my nails. But I had to tell this other women multiple times to fix the shape of my nails because they looked like crap. Horrible. Although I got a nice spa pedicure with scrub and hot rocks for $25 by Van during this time. She was done with it in 30 mins or less and had another client that had an Appt. I wanted to walk out after an hour because she was definitely struggling to do her job right and was still having issues getting the round shape right on each nails. In the end I paid a total of $55 because they charged me $30 for the full set with colored powder. And I was super close to not tipping at all but she still did the work so I only gave her $4 and Van $3. I usually tip just Van for a full set of gel $6. Lesson learned to only ever go to my girl Van. Should I say her name one more time? LOL.  2 stars for the pedicure but I can't find myself to give anymore because of my experience. Read Less

Horrible manicure, I got gel and 3 days later peeling.  Didn't cut my cuticles well, and when I mentioned it she got an attitude.  The only reason for 2 stars is for the person that did my pedicure, she did an awesome job, forgot to get her name, but she's a little older with short black hair. She took her time and the Polish  (same as my hands) has not peeled, or chipped. So, I know it's not the polish. Sadly, won't go back. Read Less

Terrible gel nails. Mishappen and thick. There were two manicurists in the past who were good with gels, but my last two appointments I was told they werent available. The woman who did the manicure said she could apply them thinly, but that was not the case. The next time another manicurist did them and they were worse than before;  Thick, lumpy, and bulbous on the end. Sadly i will be looking for a new salon. Read Less

This place is amazing!!! I got my nails done here for the first time today and they turned out amazing and they were a reasonable price! I got a full set and "galaxy" gel nails and they turned out so beautiful! There are a few mistakes like a bump in my nail,and she cut my pinky nail, and she left a little acrylic underneath my nail. the owner Tina and her employees are so extremely rude. I nicely showed her that my nail was not straight it was completely lop sided as she was doing my nails and she hands me the file and tells me to do it myself. Now this was an employee but the owner is much worse she has an attitude and is very rude when dealing with customers. I went to this site and Van did a good job, my first time there. I was told to make sure you make an appointment because they are busy, so I did.    I get there, this is my second visit and I was told it would be 10 minutes, not good.  I made an appointment and now I have to wait!  Really.After 10 minutes she still was not ready for me, so I left.  Very poor service! I've been going here for a couple of years now and always leave happy! If I want a design, I show it to them and my design is always on point! They have a good selection of gel colors and nail polishes as well. I also take my son there to get his eyebrows cleaned up and they have NEVER disappointed us. Don't listen to these other people writing bad reviews. They simply get annoyed due to a language barrier and don't focus on the work that is done. My family and I have been going to Tina's Nails on leffingwell for many years and when their location moved we moved with the business because we know that they treat us right and do an amazing job. Everyone is so friendly and their facilities are very clean. Not only do they do a great job whether it be pedicures, manicures or waxing they also like to carry on a conversation with us which really makes my family and I feel welcome to this business. Today was the worst experience... came for a pedi and full set to have done so they started with my pedi and have no complain about it ... but the girl who started doing my full set completely glued a couple of nails all wrong I asked her to please reglue them straighter so she did but still one of the nails was glued wrong ... so her option instead of doing it right she stood up and said the owner will do it ok so the owner instead of just come up and glue on the freaking na...il the right way and just tell the girl to keep doing my nails nooo they both decided to ignore me and took care of other walk in clients.... what a unprofessional way to take care of a difficult situation ... if you can't do the job right then your working in the wrong place and to the owner instead of solving the problem just decided to ignore the problem that's completely wrong we pay for service you don't do it for free ... you were just ridiculously wrong lady!!!! I would only go here if you like rude Asian ladies talking shit about you and other clients the whole time while you're trying to relax. You ladies honestly have the worst customer service. I've been going here for over a year and each time it gets worse and worse.. Loyal customer for about 3 years now. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and was referred here by a friend. From the beginning the work was pretty poor but I continued coming back because the prices were pretty cheap. I mean you get for what you pay. Many times I left disappointed with their work or cuts on my toes but I continued coming back. However, Tina the owner is very rude to her customers and her prices have gone up. My goodness lessoned learned, note to self, review Yelp before entering a place of business for the first time. My first experience here was near the most poor quality costumer service ever. I was referred to Tina by a customer which whom I had liked her nails. I didn't know the customer personally. Tina is rude, dismissive and had almost zero patience when I asked her questions about nails and what she recommended. I almost literally walked out b/c of how rude and uncomfortable she made me feel. I guess I like to be mistreated b/c I've returned since, but no longer have her do my nails. Please don't go here. They messed up my nails, cut me a few times, didn't clean up anything after working on a client next to me and taking another client, (made me wonder if they cleaned before me), then got very rude with me after I voiced that I didn't like the quality of my nails. I then had to sit there will she "fixed" my nails, and was rougher with me the first time. My fingers were super red and irritated by the time she was done. Do not waste your money here. They will mess up your nails and if you don't like the work they won't refund your money. They will only "fix" your nails, leaving your nails looking no better then the first time. After, before you even leave the shop, they will start talking mess about you. As I walked out, the manager Tina very loudly stated that I should be happy with my nails since they were very ugly when I first walked in. I came here on a Sunday afternoon to get my nails done because no other place in La Habra was open for nails. I was a bit hesitant to go because of the reviews I read on Yelp. I am so happy that I made the decision to have my nails done at InStyle nails because the work is superb and the prices are amazing! Not sure about the rude comments but everybody was very professional and friendly. I will definitely be coming back to this place it is my new nail salon!UPDATE: Now I understand the rude comments!  It's the owner, Tina who is rude.  You talk to her and she barely acknowledges you.  Shameful.  Luckily for her, the rest of the staff is wonderful and sweet and they do a great job.
