This salon is dirty and unsanitary, before she started my pedicure I can see the buff was used already. The polishes are old and almost to the bottom, they put a lot of thinner so the color isn't accurate. Pedicure was fairly plain, nothing impressed. While the lady sitting next to me having hot towels on her pedi, I wasn't offered one until i asked why am I not having one ‍ At this point she already finished my polish and then went up to get hot towels.... And they just use water spray to clean the bowl and that's it! I didn't see any spray or soap. While I was sitting on the chair waiting toes to dry, she brought back the foot files that just used on my for callus removal BACK TO the drawer! Apparently she doesn't even sanitize it. Worst customer service!!!! I walk in at 6:30 asking for a pedicure and after the two women staring at me awkwardly spoke to each other in their language they said were closed right now. Business hours Clearly states open until 7:30!!! There were two ladies in there and only 1 customer. 1 was on her phone texting the other was doing the manicure. Clearly they don't want business or know how to provide customer service. I had similar experiences with the man with the earring.  He is aggressive with his tactics, cracking toes and then acting like you're crazy for not liking that.  He scrapes your nails with too much vigor.  He cuts cuticles too much, as others have stated.  He paints the nails unevenly and leaves clumpy spots. He cleans the floor with a towel and then places that same towel under your feet. It doesn't seem sanitary, but maybe that's just me. The first time he worked on me, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He was loud and didn't stop talking for the entire hour but that's not a reason to give a bad review.  But the painful scraping and cutting, and the bad painting job that happened both times seems to be a pattern.  If he is your worker when you go there, request ANYONE else. If I could give less stars I would, the man with the massive earring who did my nails did a horrible job. The filing on each nail did not match any nail. He cut my cuticles and left them looking bitten and chewed, and blood yes lots of blood on my cuticles. He also used old files and scrubby sponges with what looked like months of nail dust on them. He left my hands to work on another customer without giving me the gel paint. Luckily he left a nail file at the station I was waiting at so I could fix as much as I could on my own. This place is nice.  I got coffin shaped acrylics six days ago.  The color is OPI Put it in Neutral (not gel).  I think my nails cost $30.Polish is still good.  Acrylics are good as well.  In these past six days, I have cooked, cleaned, done laundry and seriously worked my nails but they still look decent despite my cuticles and nails growing. I would've preferred it if they had pink acrylics but that's my only criticism.  I messed up a few nails and he redid them for me, which was really nice.  I'd definitely come back again.  They also have a large collection of polish (gel and non-gel).  The woman next to me also got amazing designs (like drawn on lace and glitter ombré).  It looked beautiful. I got a manicure here a week ago. The man who did my nails was very personable and nice to talk to but he cut part of my cuticle off and it bled for 3 days and it is still inflamed and puffy. The manicure had half chipped off the next day because the polish was so old. My mom and sister also got their nails done that day, my moms polish was also old and chipped very fast. My sister has a great experience. But really one out of three of us having a good experience is garbage. Read Less

These photos speak for themselves :-( these photos were taken at the salon after I paid for a "manicure" my nail polish wasn't even removed, I'm bleeding and there's dirt under my unevenly cut nails. This is what their "buffed" manicure looks which I wasn't aware cost extra for the buff. Also my toenail cuticle is cut and bleeding (pictures attached) and no it's not red polish, it's actual blood and EVEN IF it were red polish I guess you could say it's unacceptable to leave this much "polish" (in actuality blood) on the surrounding skin. Don't go here. I'm disgusted. When I brought it up to the attention of the younger gal that sits in front she nonchalantly and insincerely told me she's sorry and that I needed to wait for it to be corrected as they were all going to be busy. So it's more important to take new clients than rectify an issue with an existing client because they already got their cash and that's all she cared about. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, so know that I had a terrible experience here. I've been here once before and didn't like their work, but I broke my natural nail (not completely, one side was still attached so I band aided it thinking maybe it can be fixed with silk wrap) and needed a place to go quick that had an available appointment.I sat down and the woman *with no questions or warning* violently cut my nail down to where it was deeply cracked and she hurt me because almost half my nail was broken down to my skin. She THEN said she'll silk wrap it? Which she then changed her mind and said she'll give me an acrylic. She did the process so fast and sloppy and hurt me MULTIPLE times, not to mention made me bleed TWICE in the same area when she was cutting my cuticles and never apologized for it. She couldn't even file my nails straight they were all diagonal. She didn't ask me what shape I wanted it either. It's only been about 3 days and three of the polish on my nails are chipped off. This has NEVER happened to me they usually stay perfect for over a week. During my manicure, she was complaining about how she wants a new job because this "isn't worth minimum wage". Was she taking her anger out on me???? Extremely disreputable considering the work she did on me. She seriously made me want to cry because of the pain she caused me. I'm not the type to cause a scene so I kept my mouth shut at the salon and even gave her a tip, but the least I can do is warn others to be careful. She even gave me her name thinking she did a good job even though I told her 2-3 times that she's hurting me & the fact that she made me bleed twice, but I completely forgot it. She had dark hair, was short, and on the older side.2 stars instead of 1 because the ladies in the salon were nice both times I've been here. This is for the managers/owner of the salon. I was very upset when my nail lady left the salon I always go to. Ive tried other local places but wasn't satisfied. I walked into Amore on a weekend to do a full set. They were super friendly and very accommodating. I was more than satisfied with my nails! Rose did my full set and she is amazing. I love her work! If you want natural looking nails, please try this place out. I promise you won't be let down! I get so many compliments on my nails thinking they are my natural nails! I've tried so hard to keep my natural nails long and sturdy but they just always break. It's always nice to have nice looking nails so I wanted to do acrylic but have them look very natural. Came to get my nails done for the first time with Rose and loved how she did my nails. The gel was perfect and looks really nice. I've been to other places to get my gels done and they have done a horrible job, but she takes the time to make sure everything looks perfect. This place is fantastic! I came in at 4:47pm and got a gel manicure and deluxe pedicure. I've gotten gel manicures MANY times at many different places, and this is probably the best I've ever gotten. She kept my nails extremely short without me having to ask "a little shorter" four hundred times, made the shape natural and polished, and the execution of the polish is great. No bubbles or streaks. My pedicure was just as fantastic. The calf and foot massage is great and you can pay for 10 more minutes if you'd like to. Once again, the execution of the polish is perfect (although I'm not sure I'm crazy about the color I chose...my bad!). Definitely go for the paraffin wax for your feet. It is HEAVENLY. It costed $60 for both my gel manicure and deluxe pedicure, plus I tipped well on top of it for the great job they did. Not the cheapest in the world, but you pay for what you get, and I could not be happier! I love coming to Amore for my nails. Anytime I contact the salon for an appt they are able to accommodate my availability to get me in there ASAP.I have been going to Rose for my manicure for the past few years and I can honestly say she never disappoints me. She is extremely meticulous and clean with her work - she always makes sure you are comfortable and satisfied with the quality. And if you don't like something she's always willing to fix it and doesn't make you feel bad for it. She has done regular polish and gel manicures for me in addition to acrylics. For my pedicure, I have seen a couple of people. My main lady is Tiffany and she is amazing. She always does an exceptional job and my feet look great afterwards. I get in growns from time to time on my feet and she is always as gentle as possible while removing them and makes the experience AS comfortable/pleasant as can be. When Tiffany was out of town I saw Kathy who is also great at what she does - she works quickly but is really clean with her work. Amore is one of the better nail salons in the area. Went in for a Pedicure & came out with a toe infection. The service here was terrible it took almost two hours for a mani & pedi. Ouch! The nail technician clipped my cuticles and cut the skin on my toe. The next day I woke up with a swollen toe sharp pain, redness. By the end of the day my foot was swollen and the pain was intense making it difficult to walk. I asked my husband who is an ER physician to look at it. His diagnosis" Paronychia" he immediately put me on antibiotics.Paronychia is the medical term for an infection around the nail; symptoms include pain and red, swollen skin. The usual causes? Excessive cutting of the cuticle or the use of an infected manicure instrument. Read Less

So I came to this place because my regular nail place was closed. The atmosphere is super nice but the service is terrible!! I showed the guy my preference of nail shape and he said that's fine. He started but was very aggressive with the machine he used and started to cut my nail/cuticles with it. I walked out half way during the service because he was WAY too aggressive and unapologetic about it. When stopping the service, they offered to continue "gently" but at that point it was too late. It hurt way too much for my nails to be done more and I did not trust them to do my nails. As I was leaving, the lady (what I believe to be the manager) and the man who did my nails were snickering and laughing while rolling their eyes as I left. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I used to love coming to this place until I had a really upsetting experience. Tiffany would do an amazing job doing gel on my nails and Rose would do my acrylics whenever I decided to switch. N e v e r get a pedicure here!! NEVER! Some of the technicians have no idea how to take out ingrown nails. The woman asked if she should take them out and I said yes please, and she literally yanked at my toe and made it gush blood. I was in sooooo much pain I don't even think she knew what she was doing. She immediately started putting disinfectant on it and was freaking out. She looks up at me like "oops" and continues to work on my other toesMy toe continues to bleed after 5 minutes and she's constantly putting disinfectant on it. She took the cotton ball off and the side of toe had turned black :) The nail lady next to her (Kathy) looks over at me and says "are you anemic?" And I said no... then she goes "are you sure? how about diabetic? I was like um no. She goes "ok because you're bleeding a lot and if this happens you should let us know so we don't work on your toes" UM? Excuse me? Your stupid worker ripped my effin nail off and you're blaming ME?! The other customers looked over at me and were confused that she made such a remark. I was pretty embarrassed and surprised.After that experience I decided to never go back. So RUDE! I can't believe she had the audacity to switch her role to a doctor while working at a nail salon. NO you're not a doctor or nurse, don't try to diagnose me because of a mistake your worker made and made me bleed uncontrollably. Not the right way to cover it up. I was referred to by my best friend because she loves Rose and Tiffany! Unfortunately they were both booked and I was scheduled with a male manicurist named Tran. He used the same towel to clean my cuticles and nail clippings to clean my hands and I literally was saying "ew" in my head throughout the whole time. Personally I don't find that clean...like at all. I don't care if it's my own cuticles I don't want them on my wrists and my knuckles. Overall he did a pretty solid job. He was particular with the bubbles that would form on my nails after I would take them out of the UV light nail oven thing so I liked that for sureeeee. So yes my nails look 7/10 as the end result but I just can't get myself to come back. I also can't help but to add this one thing that made me really uncomfortable and definitely not as relaxed as I should be at a nail salon. Towards the end of my appointment it was approaching the technician's lunch time which is normal since it was 1 o'clock. Out of no where the nail salon went from smelling like acetone to a fish market. Like a huge bubble of salmon exploded in that place. Not ok. They quickly realized that their customers got uneasy and started to turn blue cause they weren't breathing so they opened the door and let it air out (didn't work but they tried) 5/10 experienceWould I come back? Kinda disappointed with my third visit. Got a gel nail polish without the light. paid extra $3 and my nails look like regular nail polish after 7 days. The nail technician added some acetone into that gel colour (which is probably the worst idea to do with gel colours. Also, she used the regular top coat when I already had brought her the gel top coat. When asking her why she is not using the gel topcoat she said, the one she has is better. I said, ok - we will see and if not I will complain for sure. So here you go! I know I'm not going there anymore if the technician doesn't know the difference between their nail colours and how to use it correctly. I came here on a week day when there was only 1-2 other customers. The salon is nice and in a great location right next to many local restaurants and shops on Honolulu Blvd. The woman who did gel nails for me did a decent job, however, next time I would have asked her to push my cuticles farther back and to start the gel closer to my cuticle. She left some space in between so the nails already look grown out and I got them done three days ago. That is really frustrating considering how much you spend on gel nails. I would expect a manicurist to know that, but I guess I'll take the fault for not saying something and just letting it happen. Make sure you specify how you want it! I just came here for my first time to get a gel manicure and spa pedicure. I made an appt about an hour prior and came in at 11am. There were only a few clients and I was told to choose my color and have a seat. I wasn't helped for a little while, but after about 5 min or so two of the technicians came over and got me started. The pedicure was fast but great quality. She did a really great job and made sure to fix any mistakes at the end, which is a pet peeve of mine (when they don't). The gel manicure was also great, my technician, I think her name is Jan, was super detail oriented and even fixed one of my nails that I accidentally bumped against the UV machine. My total came out to $45 and I had a 15% off neighbor coupon that brought it down to $38 + tip. Everyone was friendly and though the prices are a bit steep, I would definitely recommend this salon!  Great quality and fast service! Read Less

Great service and very attentive to the shape, color and design. The only downfall is that I was under the impression that my nails of a fill ($20) and my pedicure ($20) with a design ($5) instead of the $50 they charged me. They said I got a discount of $2 off because I paid cash but I don't understand where the other $5 came from. Rose was great but I was not trying to bargain with them over a couple of dollars. It was hard to move from the pedicure chair to the manicure area to paint my nails. It caused me to mess up my toes and the woman that did my pedicure was so sweet and fixed it the two times I went back and forth when I messed up my toes twice. I am definitely coming back again for a basic fill. Besides the total cost, the other downfall is that Rose emphasized the benefits of gel vs. regular polish when she is doing designs. It is $15 more for gel which really isn't helpful towards a full time student's budget. Read Less

I know Amore Nail Salon is a fairly new establishment and I hate leaving low star reviews, but this has been bugging me. My experience here was probably one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had at nail salons.I call the same day on a Friday and ask them if they have time for 2 gel manis and regular pedis. They said to come in now and since my mom and I were in the area, we dropped by. The salon was clean and neatly decorated. The massage chairs were all new and they had cute pillows on them. I liked the vibe of the salon. Upon arrival, Rose (she was working on acrylics and based on the reviews I believe it was her) greeted us and asked us to choose our colors. My mom and I were looking at colors when one of the employees insisted we take a seat... what?? I didn't even pick my color. He stated that we can choose one of the gel colors while waiting. I don't like being rushed especially since I'd rather wait and choose my nails then leave it up to the technicians to pick my color. My mom is really easy going so she just took a seat and I followed. Otherwise, I would have asked him to wait while I took my time choosing a color. I hate being rushed or forced to make last minute decisions especially with my nails and the amount I pay to get them done.Once seated, they gave us water, which was relieving and probably the only thing they did right since the AC was not on. I started getting restless since I was sweaty. My mom asked her nail technician to cut a little more through her nail since he happened to miss a spot. What he does next is so shocking: he cuts it and gives my mom the nail as "souvenir." WHAT THE ?!;@? How disrespectful can you be? If that was a joke, he seriously needs to reevaluate his manners.My nail technician did not talk to me once and didn't ask me anything. She quickly worked on me and even hurt me while pulling on my cuticles. Although she did a decent job on my pedicure, her attitude was stressing me out. To my luck, she was the one who also did my gel manicure. Again, she only asked me if I wanted it filed and I said yes, then she was mute again. She decided what shape I wanted without asking me as well as what color I wanted. I had to protest and show her what I had chosen. I didn't think getting your nails done had to be such an uncomfortable and stressful situation. Not to mention the fact that my technician was not welcoming at all and didn't do a decent job especially for the amount I paid.What makes me wonder is how a new business can have so many mistakes. The mere reason I chose this place was because they are new and for once, I was expecting decent service. I guess I was wrong.P.S. there are 2 ladies at Amore who deserve recognition, like the technician who greeted us and my mom's gel mani technician. My mom was extremely happy with her gel and disappointed with her pedi. As for me, my pedicure was not my chosen color and my gel mani was rushed.Furthermore, if you leave your technician to luck, there is no guarantee that you'll get a good job done here.
