Thank You....Joy, Sunny, Amy and Ruby, for another great gel manicure this time to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October)!!!  I drive from Whittier to La Canada to have my gel manicure, pedicure and eye lashes done by these wonderful ladies every 3 weeks (for the last 2 years). All the ladies do a great job. Always very careful while shortening and shaping nails and cleaning cuticles. Also, good attention to detail when applying the polish to nails and a good selection of colors. The environment is always immaculate, pleasant and relaxing. Had a new set of acrylics done for an out of town wedding.  By the time I came back to L.A., 6 days later, 4 nails had popped out and the rest were chipping from the edges.  The first thing they said, is "why didn't you come sooner"?  They should have focused on the fact that only six days had passed and the nails were all popping out.  The lady proceeds to remove all of my nail polish on the remaining nails and fix the entire set with acrylic and sanding it down.  Obliviously the nail polished had to be removed for her to fix them, right?  I asked them to please add a different nail polish color than the one they had already removed, and they  charged me $12 for that.  The owner was telling me it was color change....I was trying to make her understand that it was not, in order to fix my nails the girl had to remove my polish and obviously reapply, it didn't matter the color.  At this point, she pretended she did not understand English well and started giggling.  I decided it was not worth my time to argue, I paid, crossed out the tip section and told her I'm not returning.  I don't know what caused the nails to only last 6 days, maybe cheap acrylic powder, maybe she did it too thin, I don't know....btw....is no the $10 that bothered me, is the attitude.......... My review is covering an experience which was not good for me, perhaps great for others, but not for me. I actually leave more positive reviews, since that's my goal than negative. From no one showing me or setting the massage on the chair up for me (so my steel water-bottle ended up from the attached tray on the floor, dented) to the massage I received on my feet--which was about a minute with no pressure applied (and I left with slippery feet, because there was too much lotion not absorbed--she literally just spread lotion everywhere and did not really massage them), to the pedicure itself. I left feeling like I did not get to have a relaxing experience and with my feet not looking much different than when I walked in, it was a disappointment. There was no care given to my cuticles or to the calluses, which I told her to apply more pressure, but she turned to the woman next to her and said something I did not understand and laughed. So, I have no idea what that was about, except the final result was my feet were not happy. :( Read Less

I became a regular here over a year ago when I moved to the area because the girls that work here are so sweet and charming. When you come to a nail salon you should expect to be pampered and put at ease, but my past experiences have been so terrible that I began to wonder if I would have to start accepting the bad attitudes and horrible customer service as the norm. It was refreshing to finally find a place that offers quality services with pleasing dispositions from the staff. Located in a quiet corner in a small shopping enclave in La Canada, Jolie Madam doesn't have a lot of foot traffic walking by and looking in. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing. Their client base seems to be built on their regulars, whom they all remember and address by their first names. They take all credit cards with the option to add tip in later if your forgot cash. Girl, if you're trying to pamper yourself then you better get your butt over to this place! It's super adorable and cozy, and everyone here is super attentive and sweet. It's not your typical  salon because it's super cute and everything is organized, neat, and CLEAN. All the furnishings are nicely placed, and decorated so you can tell that this business takes pride in their property. You'll definitely feel super relaxed right when you walk in so let go of all the stress, breathe, and just let the staff take care of ya. When I came here I got a mani and pedi by this amazingly sweet woman named Ruby! I love how she was super gentle because some other places that I've been too would cut me while they were doing my nails. She's very sweet so she would stop to ask if everything was okay and to let her know if she was being too rough with my cuticles, nails and etc. She's also very detail oriented as well and I love that because who doesn't want perfect nails?The experience here was really pleasant and i like how Ruby would always try to make conversation or ask if you were feeling okay.. Definitely an A plus in service here because other places I've been too, the staff would be pretty rude. Overall, this place is amazing and I would go back again for sure. My girl works hard and once in a while I feel the need to get her something she likes.  Now i don't know anything about nails but i was referred here by one of my friends to take her.  This place was amazing!! The owner is real nice and treated my girl with alot of respect! Everyone in their was smiling and seemed like they were happy to be there.  The biggest plus of it all was that my girlfriend was extremely satisfied with her nails.  She got french tips? or something like that and they looked really beautiful!  They said guys can get their nails cleaned? I did not come here for myself, but I brought my mom here to get her nails done since I was taking her out for dinner. I gotta say from the second I walked in here I was treated with a sincere welcome! Every treated my mom with respect which I appreciate! I wonder if people go in on the weekends and have a different experience when it's busy?  I've always come during the week and my experience is great.  They are so friendly and thorough and consistent with me and it's never very busy.  The prices are very good and my mani/pedi lasts a long time.  Also, they do the best job of any with specific requests and details.  I have been going when I'm in the area for years and I think only once did I walk in on a Saturday and it was a long wait so I didn't go that day.  I would go during the off times for the best mani/pedi ever. It is beyond me how this place could have any good reviews! Horrible! My pedicure was 20 mins tops! The massage lasted 1 minute 34 seconds. It wasn't busy either and when the pedicure girl - named sounded like Ari - was finished she rushed outside to eat a cheese stick. Love, love this place. The service is excellent, the place is super clean and everyone is incredibly friendly. And they do a great job at both meni and pedi. And I get jells done here every time.  While the price isn't cheap, you get what you pay for. This salon is small and quaint.  The girls are nice and quiet.  You can have your nails done in a relaxing environment where it is not hectic or loud. The music is relaxing. There is no gabbing, giggling and shouting  in a foreign language like many of the other  salons in the area that I have tried.  The owner is very involved in quality control and is very anxious to please the customers. She is very sweet.  It is a little more costly than these other salons, but definitely worth it. If you want a relaxing mani pedi, this is the place to get it! Read Less

okay, yes the place is clean but staff is not always friendly.  The owner is.They rush you out, and it is pricey...The mani and pedi is suppose to include a massage but they never seems to give me one...  not sure why.i am looking for a place that is clean but better service.i find one of the staff to be very rude, and the rest are ok.
