The best pedicures and foot massages! However..... every time I get my nails done or made an appointment they mess up or I have waited 15+mins (w appt). Today I went and it was very bad service. They applied two different layers because it wasn't drying and then they told me to pick a different color. I spent 2hrs and 45mims just for acrylics with regular polish. Was in the area and wanted to get a pedicure while I waited for a friend and took a chance (despite the reviews).  Yes, some of the ladies talk loud and don't social much with the customers, only amongst themselves.  The lack of socializing is fine with me because I come to relax and read a book.  The lady who did mine was very nice, quiet and respectful and did a good job.  The location was clean from what I could see.  Maybe they are starting to turn a new leaf.  The main suggestion I could make is that the manager lead by example and be a bit more professional instead of sitting with her feet up on what is supposed to be a clean work surface.  I would definitely try it again.... I used to get a bit aggravated by the wait time, but honestly it only means they're taking their time to please us all. Horrible customer service, you can't even explain to them exactly what you want because no one there except the receptionist answering the phone speaks English! I will never come back here, this is the WORST nail salon I have ever been to! My pedicure was good, but my manicure was terrible. I could've done a better job at home. I had to tell her to clean up the nail polish that was left on my cuticle skin. The WORST nail place you could EVER go to in your ENTIRE life. Avoid this place at all costs the owner is extremely rude and unprofessional as well as her staff. However, the rudeness of the staff does NOT compare to how rude she is. Came in for a simple mani and had all the time in the world to waste so I was okay with waiting. She then proceeds to come up to me and accuse me of calling her on the phone and telling me she didn't have time so why am I there. I told her I had no idea what she's talking about and I just needed a manicure. Would have walked out in a heartbeat if I wasnt in dire need of a mani for an event the next morning. My time is more valuable than to take the five minutes to write this review, but I felt it was my duty.  The do not focus on detail and do sloppy work.  If you don't agree to be "up sold" on additional massage time or callous remover then basically they get lazy and do less than what you pay for.  $20 dollars for a 20 minute sloppy pedicure is what I received... I've been going here for years and this place has gone downhill. No matter the nice paint job they still have cockroaches running around. When you point them out to the nail ladies they say they're too scared to kill it! Seriously?! They have stopped caring about doing a good job and cut corners everytime. For example, instead of cutting your nails short they barely do a trim and they never clean the nails properly. Instead they do a shoddy job of cutting your nails irregular sizes. They make your toe nails appear skinny ontop because they can't get all the dead skin on the side of the nail. Isn't this basic service and knowledge? They really need to get their act together. Very rude. I have been going to this salon for over a year now and decided to find a new nail salon. When a person goes to get a pedicure here they try to up the price by guilting you into callous removal or other services.  For me, I noticed if I declined the extra services I was treated rudely and rushed through my pedicure. When I did agree to callous removal they caused me to have open abrasions on my feet from scrubbing too hard. I'm a single mom and I need to stay on a budget. Though the price is very low, I'm more concerning on the tools they use. They use the same tool without sterilizing process! Trying basic French tip and they don't have the pink nail option without selecting gel. Technique for white tip is ok. After finishing the nail color, I found a brush hair in the white tip. This Review is a long time coming. And after talking with several people I've decided to post this. I grew up across the street from this nail salon. I moved to the other side of Irvine several years ago. While my parents were out of town they asked me to house sit and while doing so I decided to get my nails done here at Star Nails since it was so close. I have had good and bad experiences with nail salons in general. But nothing as horrid as this. I walk in and no one wants to take me. They go back n forth as to who "has to take this woman" because no one wants me. They assume by looking at me that I have no clue what they are saying or that I know Vietnamese. But I play dumb, yet it infuriates me from the beginning. Then the unfortunate nail tech who has to give me a manicure doesn't say a word to me just points to the seat in a annoyed manner, and reaches for my hand and "observes it" the manager who I'll get to later comes over and they In front of me start talking about my hands and nails. *side note* I keep my hands and nails in very good shape being that I've been a massage therapist for over 10 years. The owner asked the nail lady to up-sale me but in Vietnamese. She asked if I wanted long acrylics. Nope, I replied. Just a French manicure. She starts and The manager who's been working there for yearrrs. Comes over and start making Snide comments about me and the other women in the shop laugh. The lady who is working on me starts to get nervous because she realized that I'm tuned into what they're saying. The manager comes backs over to "test" if I know Vietnamese by saying above me "your nails are coming out very pretty" I ignored her and she says it again just to make sure I didn't know what they were saying this whole time. I ignore her again because I refuse to play into this game. All that did was make me more upset. She turns and says I don't know. And everyone laughs. Except my nail tech because she can tell by my face I'm ready to bounce out of there. When she's done I hand her my money and even gave her a good tip (since that is what they were sooo scared of me not doing) and vowed to never go back there. This was right after Christmas and when ever I drive by I get upset. Do yourself a favor and don't put yourself through that. Very sanitary and Serene nail salon. The staff always greet you. ..Asking" may I help you ?"with smiles....the salon has a sweet smelling fragrance thru out the whole place.  The restroom was also very clean. The manicurist Diane did my pedicure in the spa chair. She asked me what I liked and was very attentive. I am EXTREMELY particular about my nails and feet. She asked if I  wanted callous  remover...Extra of course. . I replied " Sure,as long as my feet are smooth when I leave out of here" she asked before cutting my toe nails shorter and filled my 2 big toes and maintained the shape I had...narrow NOT wide....I  forgot my polish in the car...when I  told her I need to go get it she didn't treat me like a Criminal. ..or start talking in her language over me or about Me....I came back.. she finished. ..I paid and tipped Her...I am Pleased  Definitely would Recommend this salon,Irvine's" lil Secret" Read Less

This is one of the best nail salons that I've been to. I'm not referring to it as a luxury nail salon but the quality of work is better than most luxury spas. They do a thorough and precise job at a reasonable price. I especially like their gel manicures by Lee, they last for at least two weeks and a pedicure from Linda results in beautifully soft feet.Read Less
