First of all I went to this salon because of the reviews. Now first let me say I am a licensed cosmetologist meaning hair nails and skin I am educated and licensed for all three. I paid $90.00 for gel polish on my toes and acrylics and the chrome gel on my nails with coffin shape tips. Two days after the chrome chipped off my right thumb. Sunday I broke a nail. That was my fault. But today while washing a clients hair another nail came completely off. And another is loose. Mixed feelings on this place. I've been here a couple times, the techs are very nice and the salon is clean. I've had great pedicures here, but I stopped in last week for a full set and was not pleased. I wanted a full set of white tips, she recommended gel so it would last longer so we did that. The service took 2 hrs and after I left I noticed they were different lengths and some were very thick. The gel chipped the next day and I was out of town on a trip. Lux is my favorite nail salon in HB because of the opulent yet understated decor, the quality of services provided by staff is across the board excellent and no matter who I see they never fail to impress. Although it's a $30 gel mani it is worth every penny. Ask for Katie or Nancy. Read Less

Omg I have been here twice & both times I have left sooooo happy! They take wonderful care of you and are so helpful! I came with my 5 year old daughter and my sister and they were so kind to my wiggly little girl ahaha Tammy was my nail artist! And she did a phenomenal job! This is the first place I've tried in Huntington Beach and it did not disappoint. They seem to be very busy so I recommend making an appointment if you can. I've been here at least three times now. Loved my manicures from Sara.  Standard prices ($30 for a gel manicure) and good selection of colors. They also offer water and candy if you're interested.  Overall, a solid option, but given the abundance of highly rated nail salons in the area, I'll have to try out a few other locations before deciding if Lux is my go-to. This place is very clean and newly renovated. It's very dainty and chic. Nancy did my nails. I tried dip powder for the first time and I am in love. The process is just as lengthy as gel but they say it's healthier for your nails. Linda did my toes and she did a great job with the massage. I do not recommend this place at all... terrible job on my SNS looks awful. She acted like she was doing me a favor putting on Gel topcoat but ended up chunky with lines through it. I'm looking for a new nail spot since I just moved to HB. They had great yelp reviews but I disagree. The lady who sat next to me has been going here for 10 years and was nickel and dimed for shaping her daughters nails. She will no longer be coming back either. I guess they are under new management. First off, let me just say that Bryan did a good job on my nails. HOWEVER, I had a horrible first experience here, and I will not be coming back. I called to make an appointment a week prior, and I let them know that these nails were for my wedding, so she promised she'd have someone good. (I had asked for Tammy and Nancy because of Yelp, but they were both not available.)When I came in, I was assigned someone to do my mani and Bryan did my pedi. My gel French pedi by Bryan was good, no complaints there. I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted for my mani, and she was pretty confused about what I wanted. I don't understand Vietnamese, but it seemed Bryan had to give her the materials and colors and explain how to do my mani. She also kept arguing with me throughout my mani, telling me that the picture I showed her (see my upload) could have filters on it or that it might not be a real person's nails. (The picture was my friend's nails, which I told her but she didn't seem to care). Multiple times, she told me I should keep my nails long (my nails grow really fast so I don't like them to start out long when I get them done). Part way through getting my nails done, I realized that she was doing something different from what I had requested (I wanted dipping powder, but she was doing acrylic). I decided not to make much a fuss about it. I've never had acrylic done before, and I asked her if my nails would look like this at the end. She assured me it would look ombre at the end. She cuts my cuticles pretty bad, cutting my skin to the point where I'm bleeding. I was sweating in the chair as I was getting my mani done because she had cut me multiple times, and the acrylic was like alcohol on top of all these cuts. The bleeding didn't stop, and it even went into the nail polish she was putting on!!At the end, she puts the gel top coat on and I put my hand under UV. When I take my hand out, the nails are not at all what I wanted. It didn't look ombre at all, there was a solid line between the pink and white colors on my nail, and it wasn't a french tip either - the line was halfway down my nails, and it looked really really ugly. I told her I didn't like the nails, and I didn't want her to keep doing them. She kept arguing with me, telling me that's how ombre is, and that you can't get it to look blended. I asked to speak with the manager, who wasn't there at the time, so she got the manager on the phone. She spoke in Vietnamese to the manager first, and then I spoke to the manager, and started crying on the phone because I was so upset at how my nails looked. I was getting married in two days, and I didn't want anyone to see these ugly nails!! The manager agreed to re-do my nails, and I asked for someone else to do my nails. The lady takes me back to another chair, and foils one hand. With my other hand, she takes my pinky finger and grabs a nail clipper. I ask her what she's doing and pull my hand away. SHE WAS GOING TO CUT MY NAIL OFF (with all the acrylic gel on it) WITH THE NAIL CLIPPER. WTFFFFFF. I didn't take a picture of my nails before they got taken off because I was so upset/didn't think to take a picture.Bryan comes over and tells her that she's going to take over from here. She begrudgingly leaves, speaking loudly in Vietnamese (probably talking shit about me). Bryan was very nice, and I had a good conversation with him while he did my nails. At the end, my nails did not look like the picture I had shown and wanted, but it was better than the what the first lady tried to pass off as "ombre nails".  I spent three hours in there on a day when I had a lot of other wedding prep to do; my nails were a mess after getting filed/messed with TWICE (had to take off the first acrylic and then get my nails filed again for the second acrylic). My nails were super sensitive and hurt for about a week afterwards whenever they got touched, and I still paid full price for the horrible experience. Got my wedding nails done by Tammy and she was beyond amazing. She never rushed me and allowed me to try several different color combos for my full set before actually start on my nails. The quality of her work is exceptional. My set is still in perfect condition after 3 weeks. If my nails didn't grow so fast, I would leave them on for another two weeks and they would still be flawless. Thank you Tammy!! Read Less

Went here twice in two weeks last month.The first visit I came in with two others. We all wanted pedicures and variations of manicures, so 6 employees came out of the back room and went to town. We were in and out within the hour, all satisfied with our various services!The second time I went in for a fill and a pedicure, and two ladies attended to me. Out within the hour again.Everyone here is extremely attentive, professional, and kind. The place looks good inside, i love their big color selection in both gel and regular polishes. 5$ extra for the regular OPI nail polish infinite shine-hmm ok.Was my mistake to come back here since first time wasn't good either, but my girl was booked so i decided to give another try to this place. Failed. Came in arnd 6.30- yes they close at 7 pm, but tell me if its too late, don't provide me with this kinda rush service. Got my regular pedi. Im not crazy picky, but i just want the polish to be applied straight and solid, without those little leaks on cuticle, no lines from the brush, just even surface, you know what i mean.... thats the standard, am i asking for too much? Imperfection bothers me, i don't want to walk around with messed up nails like mine. My lady was obviously in a rush to leave, so she was not accurate, it was maybe annoying to her that i had to check my toes with the phone flash light, then she redid my big toes, my bad i did not check it after, you can see the result on the pics.... what was it- uneven layer of nail polish or top coat-doesn't matter, does it look right? Came to this nail salon for the 1st time yesterday since I'm not coming back to Europa nails (refer to my review on why).The lady on the phone when I called was courteous enough to accommodate me for a 3pm regular manicure. Unfortunately, I was 10mins late for my appointment because I came from my doctor's appointment at Irvine.The place is clean and seemed pretty busy. They have a sign in sheet. I planned for just regular manicure but ended up getting a gel manicure.Pros: They have tons of nail polish colors to choose from but not a lot of OPI selections instead Essie (which I'm not a fan of, since they don't last on your nails esp on a regular pedicure). But that being said, they have tons of colors and mani/pedi options & designs: gel, powder, ombré, gradient, marble, rhinestones, chrome, etc. Cons: The waiting period, granted I was late for 10mins (which is my bad). But I had to wait approx 35-40mins before I got seated and a person started with my nails at 4pm. Will be back and see if this will be my new nail shop. Btw, Special shout out to Lena who was very careful on trimming my cuticles. I told her beforehand that I am taking blood thinner medication and if I get cut it won't stop bleeding. Awesome work! Today was my second time at Lux Lounge. I first came here about a month ago and had Bryan and Linda do my nails. Both of them were extremely friendly and made sure I was comfortable. I requested for Bryan and Linda again today. They both remembered me (which I loved). I showed a picture of what I wanted to Bryan and he asked me questions to make sure he understood what I wanted. Linda did my pedi and also asked questions as she went worked on my toes to make sure I liked the job she did. Lux Lounge is clean, cute, and has comfortable seating.
