Over rated! Was very disappointed that I was told I could either wait or leave as he had to go and pick up his daughter for some type of emergency! I couldn't go anywhere with my nails looking the way they did so I had no choice but to stay. It was 30 mins before his wife started to look at my nails and suggested I should get a new nail set since my nails were all lifting! Kelvin came in two mins after wife starting working on my nails. Kevin was looking grumpy, he was frowning look real mad! He never apologized to me! He has the worse customer service skills i've ever seen. If we were to treat them this way they'd make a big stink and demand to speak to Mgr. But because he is the owner he thinks he can treat customers any way he wants~ I was trying to make him smile and engage in conversation. He finally said, I'm stressed"! I understand about stress but you need to learn to hide this in front of your customers and make them feel important to you after all they're paying your salary! I still tried to cheer him up and told him to not worry things have a way of working themselves out. He just kept working like a robot! When he was done he charged me for the "take off of my nails", and of course the new set plus the gel!. I didn't expect to have to pay for the take "off of the nails" since they were lifting as a result of the job they did before. He said... you're nails are lifting because it took you 3 wks to come back! I can't help it if my nails don't grow back fast enough for him. I just didn't need a fill sooner than 3 wks. So not my fault!. Anyway I ended up paying $15 more than I expected. No discount was offered as a courtesy or customer retention. He made me wait 30 mins., plus for nails lifting and for for having to take off my nails... (that should have been a courtesy)~ Anyway this is the last time I will ever come here. I've never have felt welcomed or comfortable here. But I guess they just don't like the Latin Americans here! Save your money and go elsewhere! Read Less

I've come to this nail shop a lot of different times. I decided to come again today with my girls and was told they can't do my nails because they only go by appointment. I know all black people look alike but unfortunately I know that to be untrue because I've come here on numerous occasions. I believe I have found the perfect nail tech. I am very picky and have never got exactly what I asked for at any nail salon in this small town. Kelvin did not disappoint me in any way. I showed him a picture and he went to work full throttle. Customer service was excellent. I also got a pedicure and my given tech was a little timid, but she hung in there.every thing my picky self pointed out she did her best to oblige with a smile. I will most definitely be returning. If i could give no stars i would. My mother came here alone and was charged $50 dollars for a mani and pedi. On her pedi they didn't even put the clear gel over. They were being EXTREMELY rude. My mother does not speak English and i think this had a lot to do with the attitude. They practically kicked her out after she paid. The manager kept telling her " leave now! Been coming to Mon Ami for years and have never been disapointed... having moced across town I tried other spots closer to me and never will again, Mon Ami is definitely worth the extra drive time. Excellent quality, fair prices, friendly staff... best nail spot in town!! And I'm pretty picky haha Calvin/Kelvin (spelling?) Is very talented and takes his time to ensure customer satisfaction!! Though all the employees do a wonderful job I always try to get an appointment with Kelvin when I want something very ornate/detailed/fancy. Helen did a great job on my toes and first time being there right up he street from my apt, can't beat that! Prices are reasonable and the Deluxe Pedicure is perfect plus they have good chairs that really massage you so it's nice! They do nails great. The price is awesome. The only problem is I got a breakout from doing my eyebrows. I think it was fungus or some kind of bacteria. I told them about it and didn't even get a sorry or a discount. I have been to many places and got my eyebrows waxed before with no problems. So something is for sure wrong with there products.
