We have a real gem of a hairstylist at this salon in Grass Valley. She is DEBBIE SAVIGNANO!!! She has the whole package! She is an expert colorist, hair cutter and stylist. ( My blow dry lasts at least 5 days) and has over 20 plus years of experience in the field. She splits her time working in the Bay Area, recently relocating here in the past year or so. She is so nice and bubbly; she can even cheer up a person having a less than perfect day. I saw Lucy this morning for a cut and style. I was coming into town for engagement photos so it was kind of a gamble to go somewhere new. I had the best experience! Although all the girls here were very nice and pleasant. I came here for my wedding day hair updo, along with my bridesmaids, and I wasn't very pleased with the results. I showed the stylist the look I was going for, which was a very boho, loose curls, messy updo look. The stylist assured me that we could pull the look off no problem! She began styling and curling, but with every curl she made, she would flatten it out with a comb, and made it look like there was no curl or volume at all. I had to repeatedly tell her to do more curls and mess it up, she would say ok, then flatten it out again! By the end, my hair looked nothing like how I wanted it, it was so "perfect" looking and not boho at all. But by the time it was all said and done, I had no time to change it, for I had a wedding to get too. The style wasn't terrible, but for my wedding day, you can imagine the disappointment when the look the stylist said she could pull off no problem, ended up looking nothing like what I wanted. I wish she would not have put her own twist on it (saying this would be better for the long day) and just done what "the bride" asked. Read Less

Joelle is the first stylist I've come across in years that actually makes my super short pixie style look sassy and girly instead of looking like I just asked for a boy haircut. It is SO hard to find a hair stylist that can do that AND it's been almost 6 months since I had it cut and it grew out SO nicely.My only beef is I have trouble finding a sitter during the week since my stylist doesn't work on the weekends when my husband could watch our kids, but that's okay. I love my stylist enough that I'll go through the trouble to find someone to watch my kids so I can get my hair done! Read Less

Deb Young has being coloring and cutting my hair for years, and she's nothing short of fabulous. I occasionally get my hair done by pal Kim Vo at the Montage in Beverly Hills when I'm there on business, and he always compliments me on what Deb has done. He consistently says my hair looks healthy, and one of his stylists said I have one of the best haircuts he's ever seen. A smallish salon tucked in a corner next to Allstate in the Brunswick area shopping center, this place has a great ambiance and excellent staff. I had my hair trimmed by Char and my pretty toes painted by Dayna. I recommend both although I have to say the one and a half hour long pedicure was longer than I anticipated and mostly because I was soaking for so long. And, they didn't have me use a toe dryer which I found odd. Be prepared for the cramped quarters and lots of overheard conversations...a typical salon! But one you can trust. Read Less
