I've always been really happy with this place, but lately it seems they've had a number of new young women who try to up sell, and aren't as responsive to customer needs. This place is wonderful! It is reasonably priced and the gel manicure that I received lasted longer than any other nail place in town I have been to. I went here last minute since my go to location closed early that day and I was leaving on vacation the next day. I called ahead and was quickly answered and confirmed they'd be available to take me. Upon arrival I was promptly greeted by the woman at the front desk. The women are a bit brisk and more point to where you should go/what you should do next rather than tell you but that wasn't a problem for me (in case it is for you). Menus are available by the pedicure stations but I didn't notice them by the manicure stations so I'd recommend you grab one in case you wanted something other than a basic mani/pedi since no one asked what I wanted. My pedicure went pretty fast and the lady did a nice job. The manicure went even faster! Although my gels felt a bit chunky, I still appreciated the extra time the lady took to file the sides and nip any gel sticking out/onto my skin. Because they were a bit chunky the gels lasted only  about a week if that before they began to peel so that was a bit disappointing but altogether I was happy with the look and the last minute fit in. I had an eczema situation happening on my hand and did notice that the lady doing my manicure called over another women and they proceeded to talk about my hand which I felt was rude and unprofessional and for that reason I give 3 stars. Andy is the absolute best, I had my acrylic gel nails filled and Andy did an impeccable job! Make sure to call before hand to ask about wait times and if he's available if you want acrylic. I called in and set an appointment for 3:30, came in at 3:20pm and was immediately sat down. Won't be returning. My friend and husband and I have been going here for several years. My husband and I had 9:30 a.m. pedicure appointments on Father's Day as a special treat for him. My husband had to wait about 45 minutes before they started his pedicure because some loud woman came in saying she was in a rush. What kind of manager allows that? You start one person of the couple and make the other person wait 45 minutes first thing in the morning? I returned about a  month later figuring I would try to forget it. The nice lady who usually does my nails unfortunately filed my toe til it bled and was kindly apologetic but when I mentioned it to Andy, he uncaringly said to everyone in the shop, it will heal in a couple of days.  Well, it didn't and it hurt. I came in to get a gel manicure. I was sat down right away. Andy did my nails and was amazing!! So friendly and did an excellent job. The salon is very clean, quiet, and peaceful. I've been to many of the salons in the area and this one is hands down the best. There's always parking and it's conveniently located right off the freeway! Read Less

Consistently great service.  The staff doesn't have a high turnover, and they always do a great job. If you ask for something (like extra short nails, or file nails only) you get it. They ask if the water is OK. They do a great scrub, massage and hot towel. The chairs are giant, comfey, and clean. My favorite pedicure place. Read Less

Will never be returning here. Walked in & asked for long narrow square nails. The manicurist said rounded? I corrected her and said square. Sure enough she rounds the corners of my nails. I ask her to make them more square which includes filing them down even further. Ended up with short nails instead of long ones. When it comes to a color she paints on a hot pink on my pinky. I tell her that's not what I want. The gel display had the color as a pale pink. She tells me it will lighten up as she paints more. She paints my whole hand and once again I tell her it's not what I want. She doesn't remove the coat and I end up with 2 hands of two slightly different color nails. I left the Salon with all 10 of my nails a different shape and length than one another & I paid $45 for it. What a joke. Oh and at the beginning of my manicure she was going back and forth between waxing some lady and doing my nails. Not entirely sure if that's sanitary. I think this place is great! Granted I haven't been to many nail salons in my life, but they remembered who I was on only my second visit and gave me a great acrylic/gel polish look, and worked very patiently with me to find the specific color I wanted! Was having my car serviced at my Uncles next door, and went to do some errands, saw the sign outside and decided to give Elegant nails a try! Had the hot oil manicure and buff. Came out nice, the woman who serviced me was kind and attentive, price was relatively fair. However massage was very short, however I'm sure it could have been in relativity to all the time she expended on my cuticles, they were a mess from moving homes and business locations in the past month...I was over due! It was my first time visiting this nail salon and only stopped here because I decided to sneak away from our happy hour at Zodos for a much needed manicure. I opted for a gel mani, and went with my regular of a neutral color. She started prepping my nails and did cut a little too much of my cuticle on my middle finger but not like it's never happened before. I didn't bother to make a big deal about it. I closed my eyes, started relaxing and opened them back up when the manicurist asked me to put my hand under the blacklight to see that the color on my nails was a dark berry color not blush as I had requested. No biggie, I figured I would step out of my comfort zone. My nails turned out beautiful, the manicurist took her time on my nails, I have never had such beautifully looking nails. However, the days after my mani my middle finger was hurting. Figured the pain would go away. Day 3 and my finger was SWOLLEN, with a puss bubble and throbbing on my arm. Of course I knew immediately that I had contracted an infection from the nail salon. Went to the doctor and didn't mention nail salon, and her first question was when did you get your mani? She knew it was an infection from my nail salon. Anyhow, my finger was drained and cleaned. As much as I loved how my nails looked, I did not appreciate the infection on my finger and my medical bill. I called the nail salon and the lady didn't care to hear about my finger. I wish my first visit could have been different and I would have become a regular, but not with this first experience. Sticking to my regular nail salon from now on. First time here today. What a great experience! Tracy was amazing!! I came in to have my acrylic nails taken off and decided to get a gel mani. She paid so much attention to detail it was amazing! She was friendly, helpful and understanding when my card got declined and tagged for fraud LOL that was a nightmare!I will definitely be back soon and this next time I will try a pedi too!!! I never do my nails, but I felt like treating myself to a gel manicure for the first time ever. $33 seems like an average price in Santa Barbara. The friendly lady who worked on my nails was very detail-oriented and did not seem rushed.  It was nice knowing she wanted to leave them looking perfect. I like how they turned out. Not sure when I'll do it again, but I'll make sure to come back here :) Btw, I called in to see how busy it was and they told me to come in about ~40 minutes. The place was pretty clean and the staff was nice. However, I'm only giving it 2 stars because the lady cut a tiny portion of my nail bed off. It was SO painful and I teared up. My finger continued to hurt throughout the entire session. How could she be so careless? She then tried to clean it with antiseptic but I had to ask her to be extra careful. This is a great place. It's almost 8 miles away from my house but I go there because they're always very friendly and remember my mom and I by name. Once we accidentally came just before closing because we thought they were open later and they stayed late to take care of us. The ladies there are also really talented on doing designs on your nails if you ask for it, and their prices are really reasonable. Read Less
