Really wanted to like this place but left pretty disappointed. There's not enough attention to detail. The dip on my right hand is clearly much darker than the left, the length and shape was very inconsistent, the top of ever nail on my left hand is pretty much transparent, some nails are lopsided, some are lumpy. Didn't get the name of the girl who did my nails, she was really nice but did not do a clean job as you can see. This was my first time trying the sns dip, I hear such good things about it but would not recommend trying it here. Read Less

I am in love with this place!! My mom had an appointment at 2 (which you get confirmation of via email) and she had the best experience with Meg! She tried the SNS dip for the first time and Meg did a wonderful job. She loved her so much she called me and said I had to go. I booked an appointment for 4:30 for a mani pedi. Meg said she wasn't going to be there but Marlo was amazing and would take care of me. I show up and Meg stayed for me!! I thought that was so sweet of her. Marlo did my pedi and Meg did my SNS mani. Walked in for an appointment because it says walk ins welcome on there door, however wasn't welcomed. I had to make another appointment although 2 people where sitting around. Once I came back for my appointment I was told that time wasn't available and they can't help me and the owner questioned who booked the appointment when she was helping the lady book the appointment for me. Blessed to have found this place!!! They did a fantastic job with my nails! I was nervous trying a dip nail but the process was smooth and my color looks so clean and fresh! I've never had nail polish last this long before! The owner worked on my nails and she was so fun to talk to and really made my experience great! Yes it is a bit pricey but you pay for quality! Meg is simply amazing. There are no other words to describer her other than AMAZING. I booked online for an appointment with her, but somehow the booking program had a glitch and my appointment was set for a different day than I wanted. Well, I came in for my appointment she took me anyway. Great customer care, she set the bar high! I've been to other places where I was a few minutes late and they turned me away.She's truly wonderful, we had the best chat. It really does pain me to write this review because the owner really is so nice and this salon has such potential. It's cute and everyone speaks English so it's nice to be able to communicate with them.  I had gone here for the first time back in August 2016.  I got the SNS dip and wasn't too impressed.  There was little attention to detail, there was things that other salons do that this one did not. My nails weren't really cleaned up before the dip.  On Facebook recently the owner read a comment where I said that I didn't really have a great experience here. She reached out to me and apologized and offered a free service for me and a guest. I was floored-I thought that was excellent customer service. I brought my mom with me this past weekend after changing my appointments a couple times (the owner was very patient with me).  My mom got a mani/pedi and I got a gel manicure. This experience was better but stull not great for me. My girl pushed my cuticles back dry....this was a first for me and it hurt. There wasn't much clean up around my nail bed like I'm used to either. The color of the gel didn't have consistent coverage either. My girl was very nice though.My mom though....when we left and got in the car, she said she noticed a nail kind of globby with nail polish and the polish was just uneven.  Then we noticed it was all of them. By this point, we were in the car leaving and they were 35 minutes late taking us for our appointments and we had to be somewhere. If we had paid for the services, we would not have been happy. I really appreciate the owner reaching out and doing what she did. There's not enough good customer service anymore like that. I just really don't know what the deal is here. For reference, this was my first time at this salon, and I had the sns nail dip with tips done.Cons: I made an appointment online for 4pm. I arrived a few minutes early and they confident initially find my appointment. After refreshing a few times, they found it, and I sat down to wait. At 4:20 the technician finally came from the hair salon side to start my nails. It didn't seem very busy, and I wasn't given any explanation on why I had to wait. I don't mind waiting usually, but I felt like I wasted time making an appointment, when I probably could have just walked in and gotten the same time slot.The technician did not trim my nails before applying the tips, so the underside looked grown in, and my natural nails are already starting to separate from the tips, which means they are going to start collecting grime. If I had known, I would have trimmed them myself ahead of time, but I was used to that being done as part of the service.A couple of times while smoothing the tops of the nails, the dremel slipped underneath the nail and caught my finger. Not a big deal, but it was little clumsy. Also, the shape of my nails is not uniform, some being obviously rounder than others, or just oddly filed and there is a lump on one that wasn't evened out enough. The technician did not flip my hands over to check the underside of the tips for plastic that still needed to be filled/pulled off until I pointed it out.Overall, it felt like there just was not much attention to detail.Now the good parts!Pros:Staff was really friendly, and you got the sense that they all really loved working there. Even with the issues with detailing, I do like the overall appearance of the nails, and the color is fantastic!While waiting, I was offered popcorn and water, and there was a romcom on the tv to pass the time, great touch!My technician was very sweet, and apologized profusely whenever she caught me with the dremel on my finger.The decor was really cute, and the staff seemed to have a good rapport with each other and their customers. In the end, I will probably give this place one more shot, because even though I'm not totally satisfied, the atmosphere there was amazing, and it's in a really convenient location. Update: Went here recently and I took a friend with me. She was so excited because it was first salon she has gone to where they spoke English and they could understand her. I loved my dip nails they always are so good at what they do. Shout out to Sarah girl you rocked!! Thank you for my amazing nails. It was such a good girls day for my friend and I. They also have clothes that they sale. Such cute items. This will definitely be my go to nail salon. Thank you ladies at SugarCoated! They were amazing. All the ladies were so sweet and kind. I got my acrylics removed and got the dip nails. I'm so in love. The shop was so clean and well organized. Twice I was asked if I would like something to drink or some popcorn. They were so caring and helping. The way they remove acrylics was great filed down and soaked off. Not like some places that just rip/pop off the acrylics. Then they prepped my nails for the dipping. Also they have such a huge selection of dip powders from a huge range of colors, glitters, and color changing. I can't wait to go back again. Because of them I will never go back to acrylics. This was the WORST nail experience ever. I went in to have my SNS nails removed and redone. They didn't have any colors I liked so I went with a plain manicure and pedicure. The girl that did my pedicure did not seem trained at all. I asked her to cut my nails straight and she cut them all crooked. She tried fixing them but she just couldn't do it. Then she painted my toes and to be honest I could have done a better job. Another girl did my manicure and she was a little better, but my nails still look like they were painted at home. Not neat or clean at all. When I went to pay, the girl told me it was going to be $41. I asked why and she said because they charge $10 alone to remove the SNS. I have NEVER been to a salon that charged more than $5 max for any type of nail removal. I wouldn't have minded paying so much if they had done a good job, but this was really the worst manicure and pedicure I've ever seen. I would never go back or refer anyone to this salon ever. I really enjoyed my experience today at Sugarcoated Nail Studio.  My friend and I made an appointment for two pedicures and they were so relaxing.  They had a ton of colors for you to choose from- they were all super pretty.  They offered us water or coffee while we had our pedicures and also free popcorn.  They have a TV in front of the spa pedicure chairs so that you can watch a movie while you get your nails done too.  The massage felt really good and lasted longer than most nail salons who try to rush through it.  Our toes came out looking beautifully painted. I also learned that they have an online booking system which is very convenient for people.  I feel that they are not over priced for what they offer either.   Overall, I would definitely recommend this nail salon looking for some relaxation time! My mom and I have gone here twice, and the service is always perfect. The ambiance is always nice, the nail color selection is ample, and the girls are super friendly! I recommend meg, she's very sweet and funny. But, please make sure to make an appointment. Otherwise, there is chance you cannot be seen. The place is super clean and just a very comfortable atmosphere.I have gotten the SNS nails before at other locations but by far this is the best place. Super friendly and efficient staff. I booked using their online system, which was convenient but still needing to have some kinks worked out. I had requested to have Meg, but when I arrived I was told she wasn't available, which seemed odd since she was made to seem available on the online booking. I found out later that it's because she's working on moving up at the adjoining hair salon. No worries.Since Meg was not available I was booked with Angelique for an SNS manicure  (if you haven't had one, you need one...seriously). I've had SNS before, im just glad I was able to find another local salon that doea them. Anyway couldn't have been happier with her service. Bri was also available to do a last minute pedicure for me! Yay! Only reason didn't give 5 stars is because they still seemed a little discombobulated after converting to online scheduling. Nothing terrible, just not quite there yet. I did find out that they JUST converted their scheduling system, so I'm sure I'll be able to give a 5 star review the next time I'm there. This was my first time visiting the salon and Tiffany did an amazing job. Best manicure I have ever gotten and I have been to many of the salons in the area. I got SNS powder on my nails and she listened to my concerns and did a beautiful job. The salon is super cute, plays movies, offers beverages and popcorn. All of the staff are exceptionally nice.
