I love this neighborhood salon. Kim, the owner is so accommodating. She'll always do her best to fit you in. I never feel rushed. They take their time and are very meticulous. Never coming back! I came in to get a gel manicure with a coworker during our lunch, in the middle of my gel manicure the lady doing my nails gets up and starts doing someone else's nails without giving me a notice, I had to wait 20 minutes for her to come back! After the gel manicure, I was at the register, the same lady who did my nails got upset because I was paying with card and didn't have cash for a tip, but she told me I could put the tip on the card before getting my nails done. Went in with my boyfriend and his parents for his birthday... We were walk-ins, all 4 getting mani pedis so we expected a wait but the man at the front told us he could take us right then. We had just come from another place that told us there was an hour wait so it was pleasantly surprising that they could take us right away. Oh was I wrong, I had been sitting in the chair for 45 minutes when we finally spoke up, seeing they seated me and I was patiently waiting for someone to come. They told me to put my feet in the water 35 mins ago... No joke, I had to take them out because my feet had turned into raisins. Everyone else in our 'party' had been helped... The man who was at the front came over to possibly give my a manicure but I told them I would just get a pedi seeing everyone was already done before me. Apparently he wouldn't do a pedicure for some reason so I continued to wait. He yelled upstairs; one of them ran over and quickly did a sloppy pedicure, definitely not what I paid for. Walked in and got a full set of acrylics. Very well done, and the man who did them was so sweet! We had a nice conversation while he did my nails. My fingers are all scabbed because I pick and bite at them when I'm stressed, so they look kind of ugly, and he wasn't judgmental at all! Definitely coming here again. Read Less

I got my eyebrows threaded here, and my brows look great! Usually at other places, I'm not satisfied, but I'm pretty happy here!But I will have to dock off 1 star. Unless you're familiar with how middle aged Asian moms act, the service might come off a little... Rough, I should say. The lady who threaded my brows was stoic, quiet, and not too personable. Not that I mind - I don't like making small talk anyway. Also, the place seemed like it was a little run down. Still not a deal breaker for me though. The two stars are only for the nail service. The rest of the review is about the environment and way they handle their business, at least today. We had an appointment. We were seated and 5 minutes later one of us were taken to a chair.  I had to wait another 15 minutes for a chair, that was already available, to be cleaned and prepped. Once sitting, I had my feet in the water for at least 20 minutes before anyone even came and told me what was happening.  Meanwhile, the other one to come in with me had a 30 minute head start. But the lady who was working on her pedi kept leaving and doing things. Fine. Back to me. The lady, once she was focused on me, was great, good pedi and mani. My only problem was the bowl of water for my hand was scalding hot. I was surprised and let out a small 'ah' due to the surprise. The other girl I went with had cold water. So there's an inconsistency there. I do have to say the massage chair was great. When I was finishing with my nails I looked at the girl I came in with and she had barely started on her nails. I was confused.  She had a 30 minute head start and somehow I caught up to her? She told me her manicurists kept getting up and walking around to do different things.  She also said that the brush to clean the paint from around the nail was dropped and the manicurist picked it up and without cleaning it, went back to using it. They also do not understand what overbooking is. The place is tiny and packed with people. They should have turned people away or at least remember appointments and have 2 chairs next to each other available.  Oh! And maybe this is normal, but I've never been to a place that waxed someone right in front of the pedicure chairs.  It was a weird and new experience to see that. TLDR: Overbooked, tiny place, the nails came out great but the environment isn't worth it.  Don't recommend. Read Less

Kim is the best kept secret in all of LA.  I'm a little hesitant to share her, actually ;)  She does THEE best lashes for $100 and $50 to refill.  She does my brows too and is excellent.  The lashes take time- 2 1/2 hours (about 90 mins for refill), so bring your podcasts- it can get a little uncomfortable laying there for so long, but it is worth it! She takes her time to get it right. They look very natural, but oh so pretty. Makes a big difference on my face. Most places in Montrose wax, and the few that thread charge more than necessary. Here, the price a nice compromise. Understanding that Montrose is a small town and that prices are higher than the larger cities, Cosmo Nails charges about $12 to have your eyebrows threaded.  The ambiance is relaxing and the customer service is superb. My foot doctor recommended Cosmos for my pedicures. I was very pleased! Ivy is my girl and she is very thorough and gentle. The shop is very pleasant and the owners are very nice. Slightly disappointed. I came here with a last minute appointment. There were four ladies ahead of me. I'm not sure if they had an appointment or not. But after 20-25 mins of waiting, I left. Going here was the worst experience I had ever had. The man doing my nails was rude and temperamental. He put on my acrylics and they were bulky and sloppy- and when I asked him to make them thinner, he said okay- then changed absolutely nothing.  When it came time for the polish I asked him to do a (simple) half-moon design, to which he replied "too hard" and then painted them solid red. To top things off, they had a promotion going on at the time- so when I showed him the coupon on Yelp, he told me that it was 'probably old' (it wasn't) and didn't give the the discount. I was in the area, desperately in need of a manicure, and decided to check this place out with a friend. First impressions when walking in: nice, bubbly, and clean. We were greeted with welcoming words. There were no customers at the time, which was understandable considering it was an early afternoon on a Wednesday. One thing I didn't like was that there was no price/service menu to be found, but I still wanted to give this place a try. I was seated with Kim, who did an amazing and thorough job on my nails. She was nice and talkative, and she did my nails exactly the way I wanted. I paid $13, plus tip, for my manicure, which is a little much compared to $10 at my regular spots (same quality work). So me and my daughter walked-in today. We were sat for a spa manicure and pedicure. But as soon as two Caucasian ladies came in, the man (owner/manager?) instructed the employees to service the two ladies who just came in. Although the man started working on my daughter's nails, I am left waiting forever! When I complained, he said the 2 ladies have appointments. What?! How come he didn't tell me that before we were sat? They take preference here and no doubt I felt discriminated. My feet are now pruny and the water is cold. I'm never coming back here after this. We were here first, we are to be serviced first. And if there are appointments, manager/owner should have told us that there will be a wait, that way we could have made a better decision how to plan our day. Bad customer service. Read Less

I moved to this area recently in January and have been coming here ever since. Very friendly staff and clean salon. The girls do a great job on my pedicure every single time and john does my acrylic. After going to many nail salons and being disappointed in their service, I came across this fine place after leaving Buff and Tweeze on foothill because they didn't accept walk ins. This place saved me that day because i needed my nails done that night and I came in as soon as they were about to close and they still took me in. I am so happy with this place. It is so convenient and only two blocks away from home. I love how John works on my nails to perfection. I always ask for him. Ive been coming here for 4 months now and im always satisfied.
