I went there yesterday and when i walked in I got helped right away. They're all very polite asking how I was. I was generally happy when I left... Till I looked at my nails. My right thumb nail it's crooked with the high point on the right and my left thumb has 2 different angles happening in there corners and there's 2 other nails like that. I started coming here after an awful experience at Sky across the street (I know I sound petty but their prices are crazy high for acrylics that will break after the 3rd day).Lynn turned my ugly, broken nails into1) gorgeous, even, and exactly what I wanted2) last OVER a month... I'm not kidding3) at a good, reasonable priceSeriously I've consistently been there at least 5 times now. It's nice especially if you live by CSUF because it's in the Bank of America plaza, but I moved back up north after I graduated and I STILL COME HERE about every month when I hang out with some friends, I definitely ask Lynn if I can come by to get my nails done.I always feel chill there. She's cool and actually talks to me and keeps up with my life (literally have never experienced that with any nail salon) and the gel on my nails NEVER chip off and the acrylic seriously stays on for over a month. The people here are AMAZING! Not only do they have a smile & welcoming attitude every time I come in, but they remember me and I always walk away with a great manicure! Today was no exception, I had to bring my newborn (16 weeks) in with me and they were all so welcoming and played with her and at one point one of the guys carried her around and entertained her so my manicurist could finish. Erik is awesome. I have went to many nail salons in Orange County and haven't stuck with any because after a while they get lazy or they move and so on but not Erik. All of the nail techs are great, the place and equipment is clean, and they have great customer service( they aren't just chitchating with each other which I find so annoying and disrespectful). I never really take the time to write reviews but I had such a good experience here! I initially got my nails at this place called KC nails, and I have only gotten acrylics once 7 years ago, so I told him how excited I was since I never get my nails done. Anyways my nails were ugly bulky and just really bad over all. So I went the next day to get them fixed here at Captivate! Lynn is the one who helped me out and they were so nice here! Best service in a nail salon I have ever been! They asked me my name and introduced themselves to their clients! She noticed how bad my nails were and reshaped and cleaned them up and I am in love. Customer service is amazing here, I had to reschedule my appointment and they made away to accommodate me!!! I even saw a nail design from another nail shop and I showed Eric and he was able to replicate the look very well! I left very happy! BEWARE: The color samples are COMPLETELY different from the actual nail polish color. While Captivate Nail Spa has many friendly, funny, and personable staff members, the quality of the nail services does not cut it. It even pains me to write this about a great team, but well-meaning efforts are futile if they cannot provide results. I decided to treat myself to a mani-pedi for my birthday and lo and behold, I found this place close to my work! It's got stellar reviews and I'm super eager to check it out. It was easy to book an appt and, after reading several reviews of this place (yelp elite due diligence), I request for John and my friend gets Lynn.I want a neutral color for my nails, some type of nude or grey and a mauve pink for my toes. The nail color I chose from the nail sample sticks turned out to be a lot more purple than it looked. John shows me and I ask for something more grey than that. He says he thinks the next one over looks more grey so I say I'll do that one instead. By this time, he seems irritated that I'm indecisive about the color but that's only because the actual nail polish color is NOTHING like it looks on the nail sample sticks (see photos). It was really frustrating and even my toes turned out an entirely different color (didn't want to take a photo of my toe color w the color sample stick). In the end, I had the staff look at the disparity between the colors, and John confessed the color samples are old so they might have changed. UMMMM. Are you serious? Then you should get newer ones that are more accurate. Also, the Yelp check-in deal didn't work for my full set of a gel manicure + gel pedicure. It seems deceptive because you'd think a mani+pedi would be a full set, but John stated it's for an acrylic mani. They should've just given me the $3 off since they totally screwed it up w the colors. Whatever. I still left a generous tip because of their efforts (also, a generous 2-star rating) but I definitely will not be returning. Read Less

First time coming here and definitely going to be a regular! They were all very nice and made sure I was comfortable and happy with my nails. They helped me decide on styles and made sure I didn't over paid if not needed! That was Awesome of them! John did an amazing job on my nails and Lin did a beautiful Flower design. . I didn't get the name of the young lady who did my toes but thank you! You were super sweet and focused..& I really loved how you all care about your clients satisfaction. I been going to another place for 10 years and they stop doing a good job on my nails so i came across this nail shop on yelp and i love this place. Im definitely coming back to lynn. She did a great job with my nails just the way i like them. She communicates with you and asks if its the way you wanted it or else shell fix it but she did great, nothing had to be fixed. Read Less

After reading the reviews on yelp I had high expectations for this nail spa. Unfortunately my first experience here was not extraordinary. I paid $25 for the "Spa Pedicure”… which I feel is a fair price. However, unbeknownst to me, the salon was severely understaffed that day. During the pedicure the woman hardly touched my feet, she trimmed and filed the nails but that was it. There was no lotion and no massage as listed in the description of the upgraded pedicure package. ...After putting the green mint mask on my legs the pedicurist walked away for at least 15 minutes. By the time she returned my legs stung, almost intolerably, only then did she explain to me they were under staffed that day. While assisting me with my sandals before I left, another manicurist noticed the entire back side of my legs had not been cleaned off. She did wipe the mask off with a damp cloth but not before the green gunk was caked on the inside of my pants. I would not recommend going in when they are busy or understaffed. I feel the quality of service suffered severely from this. On a brighter note…. I do have to admit I was impressed with the cleanliness.
