I am fortunate to discover Amenities and a talented stylist. I treated my daughter in law and myself to a facial that was delightful. However, the manicure was below standard for an Amenities salon as I have gone to the one in Denver at Hotel Monaco several times. Antoinette is one of the BEST hairstylists. I've only gotten my roots dyed from her. But she educated me on so many hair-related things, because I was also going through a lot of color issues with my black-henna dyed hair. Saturday morning I called for a haircut appointment and they got me in within the hour! Yang cut my hair and he was amazing!! From the scalp massage while he was washing my hair to the actual cut itself, I enjoyed every minute. He was on the quiet side but it may be because that was the first time we'd met. Nonetheless I enjoyed the quiet and calm atmosphere, being a stay at home mom of a rambunctious 2.5 year old, it was like a mini vacation lol. I've had my fair share of experiences with different salons here in Fresno and in Los Angeles ranging in prices and talent. I want to give Dez 5 stars because she is a genuine caring person who takes the time to make sure she understands what you are looking for. I've come to realize overtime misunderstandings are the root cause of mistakes/disappointments so clear communication can go very far. She doesn't take it personal if you are very specific in how you want your hair to be cut. I know what I want, so I am usually very detailed and specific in my approach to fill in the gaps the stylist may lack In their understanding and communication style. She's patient and a blast in a glass!She's not only great at what she does, but she is a great person too.  So I would give Dez a shot!Another bonus: she will trim your hair for free in between your appointments, so if you are low on funds on a date night just walk right in and she will good care of you. My first time going here and I scheduled a balayage  appointment with Amanda she was super sweet and this was the first time doing a balayage to my hair. She let me know what she was doing the entire time and made sure that I knew what I wanted. I hope I can come back and see her in the summer when I'm back in town. I love the end result of myhair it's a little lighter than the picture I showed her, but she told me a head of time that it would come out a bit lighter which I was fine with. My friend was feeling bad for me that I was under a lot of back pain and decided to on the spot make me an appointment and treat me to an unforgettable experience.Kim is her name....the one with the magic hands. She was so kind, so professional and so in tune with my needs. She respected my body and made me feel comfortable. I'm glad I shaved my legs because she did my whole body. Lol I got up feeling 100 times better and can honestly say she was striving for that. After having plans to visit an alternate salon fell through (due to them abruptly closing on the day of our visit), my friend and I came here for some pampering. my friend is the one who did the calling at the last minute, to see if they had any available slots to fit our time frame. This place is pretty easy to find, it is located in the Fig Garden shopping center. You can either enter from the parking lot that faces Palm, or from the main parking lot located in between Pieology and Jamba. The shop, upon entering, is very inviting and warm. The main area has nice natural light flowing through. We were greeted almost immediately and taken back to their 'relaxing room' where they offered a beverage while we waited. The feeling is very spa like, dimly lit and adorned with floral arrangements as well as two big chairs to sit in. The nail techs came and got us and took us back to the pedicure tubs. They immediately got to work soaking our tootsies and then scrubbing them with their wonderfully scented scrub. They also put a chemical peel type of stuff on them, wrap them in plastic and then have you wait for a few minutes. They explained that it helps removes dead skin and callouses. While we were getting our treatment, they handed a basket to mull over color options. There are plenty to choose from.My nail tech was very nice, not overly chatty...letting me relax, as well as chat with my friend. The price for pedicure is rather steep, ringing up at $50. The silver lining in my visit, was that since it was my first time here they gave me $20 off (a special for all 1st timers). With that $20, the price ended up being cheaper than the other place #winning. I was still on the fence on how to rate this place. $30 with the discount was not bad seeing as how I don't get pedicures very often (DIY is way cheaper). I totally couldn't see myself coming back for the full price of $50. However, 16 days later and my pedicure still looks perfect. There are no chips in my polish, it has held up to the grueling hours that I spend on my feet for work that sometimes requires a 16hr day. I could totally see myself getting my toes done during the summer. They have summer packages, that may be worthwhile. If you are looking for something other than toes, they are a full service salon doing hair, waxing, fingernails, skin care, tanning stuff, massages. I came here on a whim on a Tuesday afternoon. My friend and I were planning to go to a nail salon across the street for pampering pedicures. But the place was closed without notice. As I sat in the parking lot, I saw Amenities and figured I'd give them a call to see if they had availability.I spoke with a lady named Sara(?) who was extremely pleasant and who scheduled appointments for my friend and me for a half our after my call. When we showed up, we were taken to a relaxing waiting room, offered water, and given a moment to unwind (and turn off our cell phones) before our day of pampering could begin.I thought the atmosphere of the spa was very calming and elevated the overall experience. The pedicure itself was a little basic but very relaxing with scrubs that had wonderful peppermint fragrances, and left our feet feeling lavish. There were many colors to choose from.  My salon pedicurist did a lovely job. The only negative related to my pedicure was that she didn't clean up all of the polish (a dark color) from my toes.. I was left scraping blue polish off  four of my ten pale toes that night when I got home.  The one negative is minimal when contrasted against all the awesome aspects of this experience. To top it off, first time visitors get a discount if they spend $50 or more..so our pedis cost less at this elegant location than they would have cost us across the street!I will definitely be back...and maybe for more than a pedicure next time! I have NEVER had short hair. Ever. I have always been told by stylists that due to the extremely curly nature of my hair, I would hate the results. Finally, after many clogged drains in my home, I couldn't take it anymore! My friends told me Aveda was a great experience. They were able to fit me in same day. I saw stylist Daria, who also has fabulously curly locks. She was awesome and super confident that I was not going to look like a walking triangle, and that I would love the results. Oh boy, was she right! I'm rocking an adorable bob, 8 inches shorter and I WISH I had done this sooner! I am never again going to suppress and disrespect my awesome curls! I LOVE this haircut. I was visiting my Fresno friend on the weekend and she recommended this salon. Upon entering, I was greeted in a very friendly manner. The stylist Monica came out to greet me right away. She listened patiently and asked questions, trying to understand my needs. Additionally, she offered me her recommendations and showed some samples, since I was going to change the base color, as well as highlights.  She took her time and I never felt rushed or neglected, since the entire time I was there, Monica gave me her full attention! First time at an Aveda Amenities salon and my experience was fabulous! My hairstylist was Amanda, and she was such a darling to me. Listened me out from the moment she introduced me on what I really wanted done to my hair, then kindly gave me her professional opinions. And she did an amazing job. I am so glad I booked with her. I wasn't sure if I was just going to go in for a consultation but I loved the salon and the experience so much that it was just a "do-it-in-the-moment" kind of thing! Overall, experience was great, loved how my subtle auburn highlights turned out (exactly what I wanted), and the receptionist was great. He was so kind and adjusting/accomodating from the minute I walked in. Great customer service experience and great peopl. I've been here several times for their massage services. The masseuse I had originally worked with left so I took the recommendation and who was available... Chris. It was not a good experience. He does not seem to have the strength or to really care about his job, one or the other. I didn't feel any relief upon leaving. He just kept adding more oil! Anyhow! Enough with the negative... I decided to give them another chance. Luckily, they set me up with Kristen, whom I was told is fairly new. And that is solely who these 5 stars are for. She did a FANTASTIC job. I even prefer her over the original woman I had worked with! She's great at making you feel relaxed, comfortable and not at all rushed. She was able to work out tough knots. Went in to buy an aveda shampoo. Asked for a sample, and before I could finish my sentence about which sample I wanted the girl at the counter cuts me off immediately saying that she doesn't have any samples of anything at all... Charges me for my $40 shampoo and proceeds to put it in a tiny shopping bag that doesn't fit the 1l bottle. I tell her it doesn't fit, and she goes on to tell me that it fits "perfectly." The top of the bottle jutting out of the bag that's about the size of my iPad mini. She then rudely asks if I need a bigger bag... Maybe customer service was subpar bc I didn't spend very much, in her opinion? Maybe bc I didn't require the hair salon service? In any case I will not be returning here, when I can order the same thing online without having to deal with rude customer service, free of shipping charge, and with samples. Read Less

So let's just say the service at Amenities is superb.  I have been getting my hair cut there for a few years and have been absolutely satisfied.  And like others have said, they give you little messages - that along with the fantastic job keeps me coming back even though it is kind of expensive. But I'm committed now on a new level.  I went it this morning for a special occasion updo and it looked beautiful when I left. Unfortunately, within an hour and a half one side just sort of fell out. I called them and they talked it over with management and they refunded me the $65 it cost get it done. It was a shame t fell out because it really looked amazing! Yesterday was my second time getting my hair cut at Amenities. I generally seek out Aveda salons due to their excellent customer service and the quality of their stylists. Monica (a Master level stylist) at Amenities is no exception. When I arrived the girls at the front desk were very nice and prompt; they offered me water while I waited. I keep my hair in a severe blunt cut bob with straight bangs. Apparently this is a difficult haircut due to the precision involved. Often after a haircut I have to snip loose ends and reshape my bangs. I haven't had to do this either time I had my hair done here. I recently moved to Long Beach from South Carolina, so I know I will have to find a local salon, but when I come visit my parents in Fresno, I will try and squeeze in an appointment! The prices compared to others were quite high but the massages are unbelievably worth every penny. the time was accurate and the deep tissue addition was perfect. I was a last minute customer, looking for a place to do my hair for friends wedding, last year, during summer. I have thick, course hair, friend hair .. the type of hair cheap salon will mess up on and it was mess. And she stayed in just to do my hair.. even if it means that she miss her last bus stop, but her co-worker was kind enough to give her a ride. I didnt even know all this till the end... They didnt even want me to feel bad during the cutting of my hair and making me feel like crappy for having her to stay in. (much thanx) She IS awesome! She can definitly cut hair, yea she even does ths runway hair shows! My hair is so horrible but she made it the "stop and stare cuz you wish you had my hair!!" ! OOO I LOVE IT! And I thought my usual salon was the best. BUT she was better!! WAYY BETTER!! Omg now I cant find anyone compare to her in my town 5hrs away. ERGH SO LAME. She listen to what I wanted and what I didnt want... god she gave me what i wanted ...and it was better then I expected! I feel like I am home sick, but hair sick? I wish I had all of her in my town!
