I was very disappointed with this salon for a number of reasons. I went in with a friend who received a pedi, while I had a mani, and to be honest, they seemed happy enough with their nails. (Tho, after inspection, she had similar problems) However, I wasn't. The shop said we could come in for a 300 appt, but it was 330 when they finally had us seated at a station. I was then very confused about the whole mani process because the lady I was working with was not at all doing the same steps on each hand (for example, softening only one hand w warm water, using cuticle oil on only one, etc), which made no sense because my hands were in very similar conditions. Next, she started putting the actual polish on, and I couldn't believe how messy it was, but I figured she would clean it up. She then applied the top coat in extremely thick layers, realized she forgot to even put polish on one finger, put it on, and then applied top coat right over the wet polish. The polish was all over my finger, in globs on the tip. She then pulled out some acetone, and I thought oh finally she'll clean these up. But instead, she grabbed a brush that was clearly way too big was the mistakes she had made and started going around my nails, barely erasing any of the black polish. Then after going back to the very messy finger, it seemed at that point that she was getting frustrated and just sent me to the drying station which is essentially you sitting at a table with ur hands under a little vent, but I felt no air. After about 10 mins, I had just had it, my nails obviously weren't going to dry with that little air and that much polish and top coat on them. We walked in, 30 min after opening on a Tuesday, asking for a pedicure, a full set, ​and one manicure.2 employees looked at each other confused and said something,​ acted like they didn't have time, or just didn't​ want to do our nails umm okay you don't want our money fine. Five stars for this wonderful nail salon! The ladies here are so friendly and do an amazing job. They are very patient and take time to do your nails. Their prices are one of the best in town and definitely worth the results. I've been coming here for many years with my mom and even brother and haven't gone to any other nail salon since. Their color selection for gel nail polish is very wide. They even do ombré and chrome nails and the gel lasts forever! They literally last me 3 weeks before they start to peel. Getting an appointment is very easy and I'm usually seen in 30-40 minutes for a walk in even on a busy weekend day. Shout out to Lin who is especially sweet! Love chatting with her. Horrible service! We had an appointment at 2 and didn't even get touched until 3:30. We sat in the chair and kept saying we had an appointment an hour and a half ago and haven't been touched and they didn't care. On top of that, there was a rat and they laughed about it when we pointed it out. We had somewhere to be and didnt end up leaving for 3 hours. They have great prices, gel mani for 18 dollars! I come every time I have an event and need my nails to look nice. I tip them well every time because they work hard. They have some good nail technicians and some that are not good, so you have to find the person you like. Lynn did mine and she was good! Even if you make an apt you'll end up waiting for 15 minutes, but hey, for the price you can't complain. They do ok on waxing and offer great prices for Brazilian and waxing in general. Read Less

I used to never get my nails done because of ridiculous prices at other nail salons, but ever since I started going here I've now become a regular customer! Their prices are very reasonable and my nails come out looking beautiful and clean every time. Make sure to bring cash if you don't want an extra dollar charged on your card!I usually come here for gel manicure and regular pedicure. Their massages are great and they were also able to fix my painful broken nail.Only con I have for this place is that when it gets pretty packed and busy, there isn't anywhere to sit and they'll have customers crowd along the entrance or try working on two clients at the same time. I was super disappointed. I LOVED this place, everyone knew me & were always so kind and patient. The only thing that never seemed to impress me & made me really upset was how unorganized they're appointments are. They always overbook and even if you make an appointment, you'll be waiting to be seated for anytime between 20 mins & 2 hours. It's awful! :( Read Less

My favorite nail spot. They do such an amazing job, I've been coming here ever since I've started getting my nails done. I've occasionally gone to other places if I was too lazy to take the drive but never leave as satisfied as I do when I come here. I see a lot of reviews about how they take a long time and well, it's a CHEAP AND GOOD nail spot, what do you expect? Of course business is gonna be boomin. If you don't have time to wait than don't come it's not their fault YOU don't know how to manage your time. This is a great place because not only is it cheaper than the higher end nail salons, they do a great job! It's a pretty small place, it looks like other Asian nail salons that tend to not do a good job, but this place is super impressive! :) I'm used to paying $30+ for a simple gel manicure but this place does it for $15 ($18 if depending if you want chrome design)! My acrylic nails were $35 for a white tip/pink ombré effect. The only setback for me, is that it tends to be a bit busy and so you can get stuck there for an hour or more. My first visit was me waiting at the pedicure chairs to get my gel mani and different women doing my nails. I was there for about 2 hours! My second trip was better. I did acrylics/pedi & there was barely anymore there. I was there for a while. I called & made an appt. for 3:30pm & left at 4:50pm. The ladies did a great job, but I think about 3 people were working on my nails! If you're not into that or not comfortable, then rethink coming here.WARNING: if you have some place to be/on a time crunch, don't go here or come at a different time! I got my nails done earlier this morning and was immediately happy with the results. I got a shellac mani for only $18! Could the shop be cleaner? Yes. could the the ambience be better? Sure. But I wasn't looking for a fancy spa experience. I was looking for a shellac mani that'll hold up to camping, cleaning and gardening. So far so good! I've already washed my car and sink full of dishes since getting my nails done. There are no scratches, chips or lifting. No hang nails, no ripped cuticles. My nails look amazing! My nail tech did a lovely job and the shellac is smooth and sleek... not too thick or thin. I am so happy with how they look. Like honestly, I thought it was too good to be true, but I literally only paid 18 bucks.. well plus tip lolOther salons they charge you $20 for gel and $10 for manicure,The salon is not the biggest or newest since it's been there for over 17 years, but the service is great. My favorite thing about them is that they paint your whole nail bed, unlike other salons they leave gaps and layer the nail polish too much that your nails end up looking bulky !Also they don't use the UV light too much, as it damages your skin through out time. I got my nails done here for a fancy dinner I was going to, so I got a simple mani-pedi with regular polish.  It was $10 for hands and $10 for feet, plus an extra $1 because I paid with credit card.  For the price, I was satisfied with the job, although I've definitely had better.  I felt the way they handled my nails was a bit rough, and I can see why some other reviews are saying they've gotten small cuts or scrapes from this place.  This isn't their fault at all, but I felt bad because I had a hard time understanding the woman who was doing my nails because of her accent.  Over all, nothing directly bad about the place - nothing incredibly luxurious about it either though.  After a week or two, my polish was still in pretty good shape. So my usual place was closed today so I tried here for a pedicure and gel manicure. Overall, I had a good experience. Typically when I have my gel polish removed they file it down and then they put the alcohol on with the cotton swab.  Here they just soaked my nails in lots of alcohol to the point my fingers were burning and I asked to have the foil removed. All the ladies were very nice but I was there for two hours which seemed like a long time. The prices are good but I prefer places when I'm done in an hour with both mani and pedi and I don't have so much alcohol poured on my nails. The shop is clean, located in adorable little Downtown Niles, and the prices are incredible for what a fantastic job they do. I originally made an appointment for a fill but then asked if I can have a removal with a new set because I wanted my nails to be longer and coffin-shaped. They accommodated me and I was surprisingly only charged $25 for removal, AND a new set WITH gel. Do you realize most salons charge around $45-50 for a service like that?? They did an amazing job and worked slowly to make sure every nail was filed to perfection and that they were all the same length. The acrylic application was so thin you can't even tell my nails are fake. Only con was that my friend and I made an appointment and they took us in 45 minutes late. I was at salon on weekend for Nails and they did what i was looking for but next dsy one of my nail paint came off and i went to fix it and i felt it they did not wanted to fix it as the person who did was not there and the lady at the salon was rude and not helpful keep saying come some other time. Prices are awesome, but the facility reflects it - old, dingy, floor was dirty (but foot baths were clean), massage chairs were barely functioning.  They did a good job on both my manicure and pedicure.  Get a reservation to avoid waiting a long time.  If you're looking to be ultra pampered, this is not the place to go.  Looking to have your nails done decently for cheap?  This place is perfect. My go-to nail salon! I've been coming to Pretty Nails since I was in high school, so about 7 years now.My favorite tech is Jenny, although the owner, Helen, does a great job too. From gel manicures to acrylic nails, I've ALWAYS left Pretty Nails satisfied. Something to note too is that I've been a nail biter pretty much my whole life (ugh such a hard habit to beat), which means that my nails and cuticles have been through a lot D: However, the ladies at Pretty Nails always try to work with me which I super appreciate.Gel nails are around $12 and acrylic is $18. To have them do a manicure too (cleaning up cuticles and all of that) adds a few more bucks, but it's still very reasonable. All in all, prices here really can't be beat. I typically only get just one color, but have also brought in pictures of the designs I've wanted and the techs have delivered (check out pictures below). This place gets busy, so I'd highly suggest coming at an off hour such as when it opens. Definitely make an appointment, but also keep in mind that they try to take as many walks ins and possible and that the appointment times are not always 100% solidified.
