It had been a couple years since I had a mani/pedi, so I decided to treat myself to one. Upon doing some research on Yelp, I came across Julie's Nail Room and made an appointment with Crystal. First off, I want to say that Crystal was wonderful and sweet and easy to talk to - she gets five stars. She was running a bit behind with her client before me, so she gave me a free upgrade. My only complaint with her was that the sugar scrub she applied to my legs was still mostly all over upon walking out of the salon. I'll get into that more in a bit. For some reason, Google decided to make the location out to be more confusing than necessary. It's right on Roberts in the midst of apartment complexes - kind of weird. My first impression of the salon wasn't good. It's very small and private, which is nice, but it's dirty. I'm a big of a germ freak, so I honestly almost walked out while waiting. There are nail clippings ALL OVER the floor. It's very off-putting. This was the first time I've been to a nail spa where they don't have an attached footbath. I see the benefits (more hygienic), which I obviously am a fan of, but it just wasn't the same as having your feet soaking in deep hot water with jets. The bowl was small-ish, considering, and the water barely covered my scrunched up feet. It felt awkward and clumsy, and again, nothing to do with Crystal, it's just the way the salon is. This is also why I left with scrub all over my legs - no way to rinse them off. They just got semi-wiped down. I'd love to have Crystal do my nails again were she at a different salon, but with the setup and lack of cleanliness, I'm not sure I'll be back. Read Less
