After reading reviews, I decided to book an appointment with the highly recommended Amanda about a year agoI was going to her on and off (go for a full set, a couple of fills, and then take the nails off myself and wait about 2 months before going back for a new set) for the last year or so. But now it's time for me to find a new nail technicianReason number 1: she's been late a few times to our appt. Not just like 5 mins, I'm talking about half an hour. Not acceptable. To add to that, she didn't even apologize and continued to chat with her friends during the manicure, making me even more late to my following appts. Maybe she doesn't understand that she's being inconsiderate?Reason number 2: I have dry skin, atopic dermatitis. No much how much moisturizer I use, it'll crack at the smallest trauma, especially during the winter months.I can understand that she may have not expected this the first time she made me bleed. Hell, maybe as far as the second time. But I don't know if I could be so understanding during the third, fourth, and fifth time. If she had just filed less rigorously and slowed down a little, I wouldn't be exposed to a possible infectionReason number 3: this kind of ties into #2; she uses old (previously used) files and buffers. UnsanitarySo overall, I won't be going back to her mainly because I don't want to chance an infection. Don't get me wrong, she is very very good at doing nails; they always came out the same length, same shape, didn't lift easily, and the polish always lasted long. But if I get gangrene and have to amputate a limb off, I won't have a hand to worry about if my manicure turned out alright. If you have nice, moist skin, have a lot of time on your hands, and don't mind dirty tools, she might work out just fine for you. Read Less
