I randomly tried this place without reading the other bad reviews that are on point. The place has no ventilation. The polish selection - it's no OPI. Old and poor quality. I was about to walk out then I saw my manicurist getting the water ready and I felt bad.Customer Service - 0. The lady was texting while giving me a manicure. She would then point down indicating that I need to put my elbow down. Like you would point down at a dog.  She created an extremely hostile environment instead of an enjoyable experience. You are dealing with people not cattle.The nail job - 2 stars. One nail is sloppy. She didn't get the extra polish around the nails all the way off. I also had to ask her to clean under the fingernails. She moved me to the next table after she was done in a rude way. I asked for a fan--she turns it to blow on my face. I tell her to bring it over so that I can dry my nails asap and get the hell out of there.The bowl she used to soak my nail was tiny. Then she comes over and asks if I'm done after I've been drying my nails a while. No thank you on the way out. The other manicurist seemed nice maybe I just got stuck with a bad seed. I visited Fingertips Nail Salon about a month and a half ago with my mother. Our experience was pretty good. All the ladies were very friendly and my pedicure looked very nice. When we arrived at the salon, I think it was 20 minutes or so from their closing time, but they still graciously accepted our business. At the time,  all of the ladies were working with other customers, but one started running water in the pedicure chairs, so we were able to sit down and relax. We waited a few minutes and played with the massage chairs until the ladies were free. My pedicure was very effective. My pedicurist gave me a nice massage, cut my nails, and got rid of a good amount of dead skin. She also took a stab (pun intended) at my ingrown toenail. Although it was a little painful, she was able to fix it up pretty well, and I haven't had any trouble with it since. The pedicure looked very nice and smooth, and it has still barely chipped a month and a half later. The only issue I had, was that I developed an infection in another toe. It pussed out a little bit every day for the next week or so. The location was very nice and had at least 5 manicure tables and 5 pedicure chairs. It also had plenty of colors to choose from, although I brought my own. Also, the prices seemed to be on par with most other manicure/pedicure places in Folsom. There's a good chance I will be back. I frequently get hang nails during the winter because my hands get really dry so I knew it was time to get a manicure. I was in the Folsom area doing some shopping and was referred to Fingertips Nail and Spa by a friend. Jenny was so friendly and easy to talk to. I've been going to Jenny since around June and I always recommend her and fingertip nails because she always does my nails so beautifully. This was my first time here and first time getting gel nail polish and I LOVE it! I went here like 2-3 weeks ago and my nails still look fresh! No chips in the paint and I can be as rough on my hands and feet without a worry. I found out it was the owners of the store that did my nails. The husband did my French tips and the wife gave me my pedicure. They were really nice. The husband has a stern look on his face but is actually a pretty funny guy. I was surprised to see some of the lower ratings on their yelp. Turns out they've only taken over the store from the previous owner a little less than a year ago. Ive been going here for some time now and this shop by far has the nicest staff. They are so caring and they listen to their customers. I recently noticed a change in decor and realized there is new management. This nail salon has gotten even better! The shop is clean and the interior design is just lovely. They have a wide selection of gel colors which is my weakness because i always have to get gel when i come in for my fill. I was nearby shopping and decided to get my nails done here because my friend was going to get her nails filled. I usually do gel but my friend convinced me to try a full set. it was a very good decision indeed! Everyone is so friendly here, I felt very welcomed and warm. The store is very clean. I am a biggy on being clean. Decor makes the place very warm, it's not over dramatic neither too much going on, just right. The nail technician asked me what shape I wanted and I decided to do the coffin shape. I am in love with my color and shape. The nails fiberglass are not too thickly applied like I have experienced before. I am so ooooo happy!!! Thank you fingertips! I will be back every time I want a full set or fill done. Wow, so I finally did myself a favor and got my manly hands all prettied up for once. I usually don't often get manicures or anything so I don't have much to expect but I left very satisfied! I was taken care of by Tony. For a dude, he really knew what he was doing - confidence! Was in the area and badly needed to get my nails done before the week started so I found Fingertips through Yelp, gave them a call and was able to walk in with nothing more than a 5 minute wait!  During that time, I was able to choose a gel color from their wide range and infinite choices.  As I looked around, I noticed the place looked really new and clean.  I asked if they had just opened and it turns out, they recently turned over new management.  I've gone to quite a few different nail salons searching for a good spot to be my regular spot.  If Fingertips was closer to home, it would definitely be it!  I usually don't write reviews for nail salons unless they really impress and Fingertips impressed me with quality of service.  Jenny did my nails and she is the sweetest and cutest manicurist ever!  She's so gentle and careful.  You can tell she really cares about customer satisfaction.  After two weeks, my nails are still in perfect condition!  No chips at all.  I think they may even last up to another week!I think from now on, I'm going to plan trips out to Folsom Outlet and Fingertips to get some shopping and nails done, thank you, Fingertips! Being a guy I have never set foot into a nail salon but after 3 years of constant insults from my girlfriend on how nasty my fingers looked I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did! I thought it would be awkward but it was a very good experience. I got a manicure followed by a hot towel rub and a relaxing arm and hand massage. It was a good way to wind down on a lazy Sunday. Under new management! To start with, I have never felt so welcome yet comfortable being in a nail salon before. I was surprised by the service that was provided. I came in and was welcomed instantly. The decor is really nice, such a pretty color combination of grey and white and the shop is clean, a plus if you ask me! I asked for a full set and was immediately taken care of. I must say, I am super picky when it comes to my nails. I had a manicurist named Tony who did an AMAZING job! He listened to how I wanted my shape and did exactly that. I was disappointed that I was pressured to use what cash I had in my wallet versus my full debit card I had. Furthermore was charged a fee to use it. I received a deluxe pedicure and new full set pink/white. The pedicure was ok, just as described in the order sheet but did not receive a leg massage like other places. Of course was up sold a toe single 5 dot flower for $5. Not worth it nor took $5 worth of time to complete.I am  very dissatisfied with how my new set came out. The technician left me 4 times to tend to others just coming in. My entire right hand is 1/4" shorter in nail length than my left hand nails. Also the white tips are crooked on my right hand. It looks as those a different person worked on each hand. For $40 they should be even and straight.To top it off the technician cut my cuticle with the sander making it bleed without putting the green anti bacterial liquid to prevent infection.To make matters worse today I got a fill in them by my usual salon Jolie Nails and it was horrible. The powder this salon used on the back was only supposed to be used on the tips. It was stuck on my nails that removing them was lifting my real nails. It was bleeding, and layers were coming off. This is the place next to the pharmacy behind an auto supply store.   Their prices are good,  $15 for acrylic fills plus $5 french style.   All the ladies I've encountered there are super nice and polite. I typically go in the early morning or late evenings and  have never waited. I've gone there several time and typically the quality of their work is good.   I gave them two stars because the last time I went and got acrylic fill two days later my nails started chipping and coming off.  It's barely been a week since I went in and pretty much every single nail has chipped off.  The place can use a makeover, papers stuck on wall and junk stuffed in random places. With all of the other nail salon's in Folsom, Fingertips should be your last option. The typical shop I go to was packed, so I decided to give Fingertips another shot (I've been here several times) for a "quick" manicure. I waited 15 minutes to be seen, was told I could be out in 25 minutes to make my next appointment (skipped the massage), given cold water to soak my cuticles, had unevenly filed nails, the paint was sloppy and lumpy, AND I was late for my appointment. Everything about this place is mediocre -- polish selection, service, finished look, etc. The pictures uploaded on Yelp of the salon are a complete misconception.. The inside looks NOTHING like 'em. It would also be helpful to have a large list of services and prices displayed on a wall. Two stars for the salon's convenient location, but don't go here. You deserve more than mediocrity. Lately I have had a lot of bad pedicure experiences, and I came to Finger Tips because I was hoping to put a stop to that. I had a manicure here seven or eight years ago, and it was amazing, but for some reason I just never came back again. I think I had it in my head that they were expensive, but that's probably because pink and white acrylic with glitter (which is what I'd had done here before) is just an expensive thing to do. I was a little nervous about walking in at 6:52, because the door said they close at 7:30, but it turned out to be fine. As soon as I walked in, someone called out, "May I help you?" I asked if someone was available to change my toe polish, and they told me to pick a color and have a seat, so I did.The clerk came over to me pretty quickly, and asked me what kind of pedicure I wanted. I told her again that I just wanted my nails painted with red tips and red flowers. I have had  a lot of experiences where people will put lotions and chemicals on my toes even though I specifically say that I do not want a pedicure, but none of that happened here.So, I have tiny toe nails, and I usually ask the clerks not to clip them, but I forgot, and she clipped them pretty short. I know that one is on me though, because most people probably want them clipped. By the time she had done one foot I figured I'd better just let her finish up so my feet would match.She managed to groom my nails without hurting me, which rarely ever happens. She giggled a little bit and said, "You have tiny nails." She started to put white tips on, and I said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I wanted red tips and red flowers," so she wiped off the polish from the one toe and started over. She said a few things in another language, presumably something along the lines of, "Screw this chick and her tiny toes," but she was smiling at me the whole time, so it's cool.Overall, she did a really good job, was really nice and helpful, and didn't hurt me at all. I went here today with a friend of mine that is way more accustomed to getting her nails done than me--I had my last manicure 8 years ago! Anyway, it was Sunday--pretty constant stream of customers--but, they had enough staff to take walk-ins without much waiting, if at all. We didn't have any wait! We both got a mani/pedi. Mine was less since I just went with the basic pedi and the basic mani--total for me was $40--her's was $50 because she got the gel nails--she swears by that, said they last 2-3 weeks! The staff was friendly and listened to what we wanted--picking out the polish felt rushed to me, but, can't expect to have all the time in the world without an appt. Overall, it was a good exp--the place was clean--their prices might not be the cheapest in town? but, I would gladly pay more to know things are kosher hygiene-wise. Read Less
