I have had a few mistakes here - had to get my nails re-done once they were so bad. I went recently for a pedicure, to try it again - and had an appointment for 3. Only two of us could go, but there were not two chairs available next to each other, so we waited. They sat my friend down instead of having us wait together. Pedis were rushed (they were busy) and we were told to leave the chair to sit down for our nails to dry, and as soon as I took a step, my polish messed up. They did not use any spacers. They fixed it, but there are still some nicks and dings, which wasn't worth $40! Will not be returning. Read Less

Went here because I saw a bunch of great reviews. I don't mind paying $40+ for a good set of nails. I moved to Escondido a year ago and have had trouble finding a good nail salon. I usually get my sets to last 5-6 weeks. My first BRAND NEW set with Sunflower only lasted 2 weeks before the top coat was peeling off. I brushed it off and went back a week after that. I paid $55 for a fill with gel, glitter, and some rhinestones. Again not an issue for me as long as they last. Well, 5 days later one of my nails broke! Not even a week! Here's where they lost me as a customer. I go back to have it fixed. The male manager tells me to sit at a table without greeting me. I think he's probably just busy and brush it off. He comes back after talking to the other workers and I try to explain how it hasn't even been a week and I'm sad the nail broke. He proceeds to fix the nail silently and honestly being pretty hostile. It felt like I was in trouble. He was just pushing my hand around to direct me. He wouldn't even tell me what he wanted. Once he fixed it, he charged me for it! I asked "Seriously? I paid $55 less than a week ago and you want me to pay?" To which he so rudely snaps back, "well YOU broke it." I have never felt so mistreated at a salon. I have a double wrist injury so I can't use my hands frequently or be rough. So I know it wasn't my fault. But regardless, even if I was too hard on my nails, they should be guaranteed at least a week! Overall, this place is too overpriced for the quality and customer service. Read Less

I got a manicure and pedicure and it was amazing. When I go out with my friends they say to go to this other 'amazing salon' that was terrible and the next time I said to go to this salon it was very high quality and they love it now. Amazing!!I just got my nails done by Mike! A full set of acrylics with a bit of glitter. Mike is amazing! His work is clean and beautiful. I've never really been satisfied by my nails at any other salon but here.I mean, you'll see how great my nails turned out in my pictures below. I'll also attach the picture I showed him prior to getting them done. He did a great job!!If you're looking for a new nail salon, come here and make an appointment with Mike! After reading the reviews of this place I was eager to make an appointment and get in. This was my very first time coming in so I let them choose for me and I ended up getting Mike. He ended up doing an AMAZING job! What I really liked about him is how he took his time and never rushed unlike most salons do to try and get to the next person. My recommendation is to call make an appointment so you don't have to wait and make sure you have the time available cuz it will be a while. I honestly was okay with the amount of time he took because he made sure everything was perfect literally! I didn't once have to tell him to fix a nail a certain way, all I said in the beginning was that I wanted coffin snapped nails and he totalled nailed it in the end! Also, I wanted a little Valentine's day touch so I asked him if he could add a rose on one nail per hand and it turned out gorgeous all done by hand. I am a licensed cosmetologist myself, and I know what to look for as far as sanitation and disinfection go... and sunflower is extremely clean which is a big one for me. Not to mention, I LOVE the workers especially my boy JOHNNY!!! The salon has a great atmosphere, very relaxing, and fun! I highly recommend. I have now been to Sunflower Nails three times, each time I have gotten a gel manicure and have had fantastic results! This past visit I also got a pedicure with my manicure ( see picture ). I have had a different person every time and have have been very happy with the results. I have always been able to be seen very quickly without an appointment, although I tend to go during the week mid-afternoon. All the technicians take their time, but the outcome has always been great work. The pricing are also pretty good, you get a dollar off if you pay in cash. My gel manicure and basic spa pedicure was $48 (using card) plus tip. They do ask that you tip in cash. Especially considering that the gel has held up for weeks for me it's a great deal. Read Less

My wife have gone to them on a few occasions. Sometimes my wife ask for the best nail trends and Sunflower always deliver. The salon staff always is courteous and professional. I just moved to the area and already went to one salon that I wasn't too happy with. Now I found a new place Sunflower Sandy did my acrylic nails (awesome). Diane did my pedicure (excellent)! OMG! I have been sooooo obsessed with my Nails for the past week. "Mike" did such a Magnificent job on my nails last week. I literately felt like a famous super star with people asking where I got my nails done, and wanting to take a picture of them. I was referred by a friend and had to go check it out myself. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by all the staff asking me if I would like a beverage before getting started. Talk about making you feel at home. The ...place is extremely clean the ambiance is amazing! I live in San Diego and it was so worth drive plus more. Prices do depend on how much detail you want, but trust me you get what you pay for, you wont be disappointed. This place a great way to spoil yourself and enjoy "You Time".
