Finally found a great nail salon in North County! I had been driving all the way to La Jolla, but so happy with Presitge Nails. They do not use a dremel to take off old gel polish like some Asian salons in the area do. Huge selection of gel colors. Ask for Tom!! Came in today because I had a gift card, which they didn't even end up excepting, anyways it was still a bad experience. My nail lady was rude and was on her phone in between nails. I look around and a lot of the people working were on their phones. They also mis charged, which I didn't notice, and as I was driving away they stopped me. They then made me come back in and pay the rest. This was their mistake not mine. They also charged me $15 extra for gel on my hands. This is last time I will go into any prestige nail place. This is the 3rd time I've got my nails done and I have nothing to complain about. I have got a full set and got a fill 2 times now. (I forget what I paid for a full set but my fill was 24$. That is with regular paint and gel top coat) Nancy, who sits in the back, table 6 has done my nails every time and I will continue to go back to her. Only con: I tipped twice with my credit card and asked to just add the tip before I paid and it was no problem and this time the male rang me up and said we can not tip on card even if we add it on before. But they do have a ATM machine inside but still kinda crappy. Thankfully I walked next door to Wells Fargo and got cash out without a charge but kinda a hassle. This place was awful. Literally can't think of one nice thing to say and i usually don't write reviews like this. 1. Everyone working here seemed miserable.  The environment was awkward and you could feel it as soon as we walked in. No music,  no sounds,  not even happy clients talking. 2. I got a manicure and pedicure,  and the lady (i didn't catch her name) had a complete attitude. I tried to make friendly conversation and she ignored me the entire time.  She did a horrible job on my manicure.  Barely even cut my cuticles. I could have done a better paint job myself. 3. The pedicure left a lot to be desired.  She didn't listen when i told her i brought my own color and instantly started painting them the same as my nails.  I then corrected her after the 2nd toe  (which is when i realized) and she had total attitude,  rolled her eyes at the lady next to her.  It was so uncomfortable even other guests noticed and looked at me as if they felt bad. 4. Before any of the services she asked me to pay up front. I thought it was weird but i obliged as it was my first time to this salon.  The guy ringing me up was rude and rolling his eyes as well.  I'm not sure what the problem is with this staff but it leaves a lot to be desired. 5. After she finished my quick pedicure (literally less than 20 min), she left me to go do another lady's nails.  The salon wasnt even busy. She didn't help me get my sandals back on, or exit the chair without damaging my nails.  I'm not expecting much but i was struggling to get my shoes on and get out of the chair,  and she saw it and still ignored me.  6. On the upside, the place is more or less clean and the massage chairs work (more or less). Unfortunately, the customer service sucks. For starters, the person doing my pedicure didn't actually cut my nails. She was on her cell phone off and on and then right in the middle of my pedicure she went outside and had a 15 minute convo on her phone. I didn't notice my nails weren't cut until the paint was already on, otherwise I would have asked for her to go back and cut some length off. It wasn't the worst thing in the world that my pedicure dragged on but what was nutso was her swatting my foot away after she tried putting my flip flop on (the second she was done painting my toes) and scraped one of the straps of the shoe over my big toe, which ruined the polish. I'm not cool with being swatted in general but I found this an especially obnoxious move given that she was putting my shoe on for me, and I wasn't wiggling or doing anything to cause her to scrape the strap. She re-did my big toe and then I had a manicure with her too, which was about 8 minutes in length. No real care was taken with the manicure.  I chose clear polish with glitter in it, and you can see how uneven my nails are. I'm pissed that I spent my money at this place for shoddy work and bizarre customer service.  Luckily I have no reason to return, as I was only visiting friends in the area. Read Less

By far the worst manicure I have ever received. I went Dung in the back booth. She left underneath my nails filthy. You'll see in the picture that she cut my nails uneven and even left them jagged. Came here today and instantly regretted it. Should've went somewhere else. Sloppy job and no customer service.Opt for a manicure and spa pedicure. Cold water for my pedicure. Did a very poor job in cleaning and painting. My manicure was horrendous! Painting was atrocious. I could've painted my nails better than this woman. Then she tried to over charge me $2, I questioned it and she played dumb. Will never come back again. They definitely need an upgrade inside. My cousin who does nail is out of the country until next week and I needed a mani pedi color change to hold me over until she got back.I chose this place because it's 5 minutes from my house. I called at 4 to see if they take walk ins and they did.I got there and immediately was paired up with Tina. She was nice and super quick. $14 later I'm happy.I'll most likely come back here again when and if my cousin goes on vacation for the same thing.I gave this place a 4 out 5 because there's always room for improvement. Went to get a mani pedi today with my wife. I had a great experience. My wife left in tears. Tammy did my mani pedi. She did a great job. Tina has also done a great job for me in the past. My wife got a guy named John this time. He was rude to her, didn't follow her instructions of what she wanted done and was very rough. My wife paid more than me and her fingers are red and very sore. The fumes are so incredibly bad here, there appears to be no proper ventilation, especially in light of all the myriad of chemicals they use.  The poor employees were all coughing and choking.  The quality of work may have suffered as a result.  They charged more than was listed in their "menu" of prices and the "callous removal" offered was simply an additional 35 seconds of the employee scrubbing your foot.  Most places use a callous removal gel prior to the scrub.  Cannot recommend! I had the Euro spa pedicure and it was fabulous. My nail technician gave me a really long massage and it felt amazing. I didnt feel like I was rushed and they did a great job of painting my toes. The price is very reasonable for the service they give. Read Less

I was getting a gel  manicure with the lady name LANI, she is the lady who  does bad waxing in there, while she was doing my nails, she blowing her runny nose 2 times but not washing her hands  and continued  doing on me,  I felt like I was  sick with  her, don't let her do your nails. Read Less

I wasn't planning on writing a review but was convinced I must. I was a loyal customer of Prestige Nails for about a year and a half. However, on April 21st, I went to get my eyebrows waxed, and was severely burned. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of the lady who did the waxing. She tried re-waxing over an area she had already waxed and along with the strip went my skin. I felt pain at the time but thought maybe it'd go away, therefore I paid and walked out. Once in my car it started hurting more so, it was then I could start seeing the wound forming. I went back inside and asked for my money back. She apologized and gave me my money + the tip back. I'm sure she learned a lesson, at least I hope so. It's been about three weeks since and the area around my left eyebrow is still very tender. Aloe Vera has been my best friend! I came here today to do my nails for prom. I was with the girl in the very back, I can't remember her name. I asked for a long set of coffin shaped nails. When she was measuring them out, I told her where cut the nail, but she insisted they were "too long" and cut them very short. She didn't even use acrylic nail cutters, she used normal clippers, so my nails were incredibly uneven --they were all different lengths. I kept quiet, thinking she may fix them.She didn't, and ended up doing an awful job on my nails, which I would have to wear to prom tomorrow. They were an awkward color, uneven, and I was upset because I didn't want my nails looking bad. I went to the manager and talked to him. He gave half my money back and re did them. He was very nice, but this shouldn't have happened in the first place. My mother has been coming here since before I was born, and has always made appointments with Anne, who is both a lovely and talented woman. Today I got acrylics for $25 with Kim, who I highly recommend as I am greatly impressed with my nails. They're all even, not too thick, and painted beautifully. 2 of my friends get their nails done here so I thought I would give it a try. I have tried several others since moving to Escondido.  Not totally happy. That's a story for a different post!I made an appointment with Tammy for my nails.  I wanted to see if there was a "hard sell" for a pedicure or waxing.  She was very nice, gentle with removing the gel (I hate it when they scrape the gel so hard it takes off a layer of nail). She explained that she thought I was a different client when I was on her appt book and she had started the water for a pedicure.  She didn't push it so I mentioned that I would like a pedicure if she had time - of course she had time!  LOL.  I also had her wax my eyebrows.  She did a great job, the salon is clean, the other ladies are friendly.  There were lots of clients in and out so they are staying busy.  I would recommend trying this salon!! OMG! They just keep getting worse. I went here a couple years back and the lady was nice but talked too much and it was kind of annoying as I am the type that likes to relax and stay quiet when I'm getting my nails done. But, nonetheless, everything looked nice and was a good enough experience. I got a gift card for Christmas and waited a couple months before I ended up going in to get a full set. When I went in I noticed that everything had been remodeled. It looked really nice except once I sat down I noticed that the seats were way too close together. Not a big deal at all though. Then, the entire second half of getting my nails done, another nail lady came over to talk to the lady who was doing my nails and was like staring at me and just talked and talked..she was so close to my face that whole time that I felt uncomfortable. AND SHE WOULD NOT LEAVE! I don't get how that is professional or OKAY at all. It was so awkward.I tried going again, this was the final straw. I was getting a fill and pedicure. I go to sit in the chair and the lady gives me a piece of paper with all the different pedicure services they offer. I tell her that I just want the basic service and at that point I could tell her attitude of happy and smiley turned into an almost irritated look that I didn't want to spend more. Okay, moving on...I asked for french tips on my toes.. Every girl knows that when you are constantly re-adding polish on your nails that they can start to look yellow.. Well, instead of putting a little bit of pink on that part to offset the white, she just left it looking like that while the lady next to me DID get the pink with the white and hers looked great. She did the white so thin....my toe nails began to chip after 3 days .... They looked awful. They looked like they had jaundice LOL. So another lady comes up and starts working on my finger nails.. I tried showing her a picture of what I wanted...She completely ignored the picture and me for that matter. She looked away and yelled something to another lady. At that point, I actually mumbled "ookkkkaayyy nevermind" under my breath. Anyhoo, she's filing away and once she's done she goes "look at your nails" ..I'm thinking that she's wondering whether or not I like how short she did them.. but no...she then goes, "they look horrible, there is almost no nail left." ---I was honestly insulted. On top of that, she was literally throwing my hand when she was done with it and pulling the next one AND told me to 'put my phone down' The next day I noticed that there was an air bubble in my nail polish on my thumb and on my middle finger.. My thumb nail ended up chipping in 2 days.. I let it stay like that for the next week and a half because I would rather deal with a chip then go back to that awful place. -___-It's different when a place does a great job and may not have the best customer service.. but this place sucks AND has horrible customer service...I wish I had gotten that lady's name so I could warn you!The only thing good about this place is the man who sits at the front and greets and signs people in.
