Love, love, love this place. Made an appointment for a new acrylic set. The nail technician I always go to was booked, and I needed to get a fresh/new set. I Googled for nearby nail salons that specialize in acrylic, and this place popped-up. I took a quick glance at their website, and called to book an appointment. Let's just say that this place has now become my second home-nail salon. The place is clean, the stations are well organized, appointments are well kept. It's a beautiful boutique appropriate for any age group. I'm very thankful for Courtney who did my nails. I gave her a general idea of what I was looking for an she delivered. Her nail handling techniques are very refined, very professional, and just an amazing work really. Furthermore, Courtney is very sweet, we had great conversation, laughed, shared our life experiences; and a sisterhood bond was established. I highly recommend this place. The location is in Emeryville, and a visible landmark would be the Public Market, a little further down from Bay Street mall. It's unfortunate that they decided to hire the rudest front desk manager. I used to enjoy going there, but his rudeness brings bad vibes to the salon. Today, I decide to go after months of going somewhere else. Their hours are listed as 10am-7pm. I was there at 6:15pm. There was no one waiting for service. When I told him I needed a pedicure, he said that they were closed. I pointed out that they don't close until 7 so he said "we are all booked up". As I turned away to leave he processed to tell me that next time I want to go there "that late" I needed to call ahead of time. If he would of told me that they were booked up from the get go, rather than saying they were closed, I would of understood and not been so offended. Well, there won't be a next time. I've been coming here for over five years now. I used to come more frequently before I had my daughter - when I can afford pampering. I've missed this place. I came on a Thursday afternoon in July at around 3pm. I decided to get a pedicure and shellac on my fingernails. It took about 45 minutes to complete both! In comparison to other salons, the customer service here is professional yet personable. I enjoyed the conversation with the manicurist and I especially enjoyed her diligent touch. I used to go to them regularly when I first moved into Emeryville. I thought that they did a good basic gel manicure and only discovered that they were not great after going to them for a basic fill on a full set. Numerous times I was told that I could not get any designs or embellishments because "we don't know how to do that" or the person who did was not working on a particular day despite me calling in advance. Making an appointment means, nothing as they will still make you wait and may even try to take walk-ins ahead of appointments. Nearly EVERY TIME I get a pedicure, I have to go back because they don't apply polish in a smooth consistent manner. The paint is often globbed on top in an uneven manner. My sister and I went into this place, ready to enjoy our day together and have a good time. Maybe we weren't right the right color, but we sat there for 10 mins without being addressed. I have always come here to get my nails done and always had a great experience. Today was horrible!! The guy that works at the front was rude! A woman who came in after us was seated before us. Then he asked another patron what she needed and that it would take 15 mins. When he asked my daughter and I what we needed done, he then told us 30 mins after I repeated the services we needed 4 times. I am so disappointed!! Read Less

Like many other places that you go to now a days there is no pampering whatsoever!! Consider yourself very lucky if you ever get a simple smile or a welcoming gesture! Unfortunately I had to go to this place many times because of their convenient location, but this has always been the case! The quality of their work also falls bellow average and I don't think this is because they don't know how to do their job, but because they simply don't care. Also, don't bother asking them for what you are expecting cause it won't make any difference! They just do what they want to do! Nobody cares, not even the guy they have there to receive the payments! Last time I was there I had to wait for more than 5 minutes looking at him while he was laying on the couch with his legs up on the table and speaking on his phone before someone else finally came to take my payment!
