I just paid $28 for a basic full set with regular nail polish. I attempted to pick a color from the regular lacquer and was instantly handed the painted nails and told to pick from there (I figured they just wanted me to have a seat quicker). I asked half way through my appointment if those were gels I was picking from, and she said yes and "gel polish last so much longer, doesn't chip and it dries instantly". This was legitimately a con to try and get me to spend another $10 without actually asking me! I could not believe how sneaky that was.  (The lie they spew about gel nail polish on acrylic nails is unbelievable...just to get you to spend more $$$. I have not once seen regular nail polish chip on acrylics and if I'm going to fill my nails every two weeks I'm getting the color changed anyways. And took me 6-8 minutes under the dryer to dry the regular lacquer on my acrylic nails.) Read Less

I love coming here for the pedicures. They really go to work on your feet! TBH. I have some rough heels! But when I leave, that's a whole different story. The stone on my legs and wax treatment is why I keep coming back. I honestly can't remember all the names, but it doesn't matter who does my pedicure. I've been here only twice. The first time I just wanted to get a nail fixed and color change. The lady was nice and did it how I liked. The next time I went in to get a fill and pedicure. My past pedicures at different salons took their time and it was very relaxing, although at Venus, they seem to be very rushing. The lady wouldn't stop pressuring me to get a gel color on my nails until I finally just said I would pay the extra few bucks for it. This place is terrible. I give it 0 stars. I stopped in (no appointment) just for a nail repair. A Caucasian couple came in right after me. I was told to come back in 30 minutes. I thought that's fine, I'll go to the Nugget next door and come back. The couple behind me were told only a few minutes for 2 pedicures. (They also did not have an appointment) I left and came back. I spoke to the woman who told me to come back and asked her why a 30 minute wait for a 10 minute nail repair, but only a few minutes for 2 pedicures especially since I was in first. She tried to make an excuse and tried to find someone to help me. This place is NOT what it used to be.... took my 4 year old there so we could get manicures. (Today is her birthday) when we walked in, I had asked if they were available to do 2 full manicures, a women said yes. She had my daughter sit in front of some guy and I sat next to her to have my nails done by a lady. As I was watching the guy do my daughters nails... I noticed all he did was take off her old nail polish and he put her fingers in a bowl for maybe 5 seconds. Then push her cuticles back. As he was doing that he kept stopping and glaring at her. ( she was just sitting there) I finally said to him" why are you staring at her like that? What is she doing?) he refused to answer me as I had asked him a few times. Finally I just told my daughter to relax her hands because she may have been making her fingers a little stiff. Then he starts to paint her nails. As I was getting ready to say something, a lady that was sitting there ripping aluminum foil said something to him in another language.. then he took out lotion and put some on her hands, as he was laughing about it. I said thank you to the lady, and I also repeated to them how I wanted her to be pampered For her birthday.. and hell.. I've had enough manicures to know they ALWAYS rub your fingers and arms. He did a pretty crappy job on painting them too. My Daughter knows how to sit still to have her nails done.. and I think it's pretty sad that he did a shabby job on her manicure. Needless to say I paid $35 dollars for 2 manicures that honestly weren't worthy $20. I had an ok experience at this location. I had a gel manicure, regular pedicure, & had to get my previous gel manicure taken off. Cost $52.00 + tip. I was pleased with the end result. Negatives: Was cut kinda deep on one nail when getting cuticles trimmed (3 days latter, still is tender & red) & pedicurist kept stopping mid way to use her phone even with her gloves on. If I could give this place no stars I would. I wanted a pointy tip burgundy matte acrylic nail and the woman hated my idea from the beginning. She kept telling me the whole time how awful it was going to look, and did an awful job on them. I went back about an hour later to get them fixed and she made me feel like shit, she raised her voice and kept laughing in my face like a bratty child. **********DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!! I went in today to simply get my acrylic nails off and had the worst nail salon experience ever. Tammy was the lady I saw and from the second she started she was hurting me. I know getting your nails taken off isn't a pleasant experience but she was practically yanking them off and was in such a rush. I kept telling her how painful it was and she would giggle and say, "Oh it's okay I'm almost done." When she did my pinky SHE CUT THE SKIN UNDER MY NAIL AND BROKE MY ACTUAL NAIL. It immediately started bleeding and she STILL did not pay attention to it. All my other nails were filled unevenly and some still had my previous red nail polish on!!! After, Lynn put a clear coat on and when I complained about the service she just rolled her eyes at me. This is such an unprofessional nail salonwith very rude employees. I would give this place NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could.UPDATE: My mom and I contacted the manger "Tracy" and she apologized for the whole situation and offered to give my money back, HOWEVER, when I posted my experience on Yelp she texted my mom's phone saying that it's not okay for us to write a bad review and she'll just tell people I'm lying (which doesn't make sense when I have pictures and the texts). I always see Jennifer, I used to see another girl, then out of nowhere she left without warning. Not sure what happened to her, but Jennifer took me one day and has taken great care of me since! She usually needs 24 hour notice to book an appointment, but I've never had an issue with the services I've received from her. She takes her time and is very thorough , she provides a very relaxing experience and my mani or pedi lasts at least 1-2 months before I am in dire need of another service. Read Less

I went into Venus Nails on a Saturday for a fill. I got right in and my nails were done quickly. Diane was very nice. By Saturday evening my nails were all painful and by Sunday I had open wounds on three nails. My thumb was oozing from the side and two other fingers were red and open under the nail. It's now Wednesday and all of my fingers are still sore. The three with open wounds are still extremely painful, red, and open. I can't use my thumb for simple tasks like zipping up my pants. Every time I hit one of my fingers I'm in pain.  DO NOT go here and see DIANE. I only went here once and I was about 15 mins early for my appointment and Loni was already behind by 20 mins. When she finally got started all she did was make rude remarks in her language about how long It would take to soak my original set off . I finally had enough and sternly told her that the only reason I gave her a chance was because of someone I knew and that her work was no better than the next place and that I could just as easily take my Green Money elsewhere. She shut the hell up then and was cordial afterwards. I had sent her a picture of one of her co-workers jobs and asked if she could do the same and she said yes but as she proceeded to do so I notice that some were thicker and the shape was different on all of them. This place is very clean and i love their spa covers for the sanitary reasons! I've been coming here for almost 2 years and never had to complain for the service received! Diana is absolutely sweet and professional lady. She does a very neat job and her personality is very rare now a days! But to be honest if Diana wasn't there i wouldn't be coming, because the most ladies out there aren't so nice... I have been coming here for a long time. Jennifer is my manicurist. She is so sweet, makes you feel comfortable. Enjoys conversation and does a great job. 5 stars for her!!!The downside of this place is that it's a dirty. Flies everywhere because they leave the door wide open all day. So when you are trying to relax and get a pedicure you have a darn fly buzzing by you constantly! Also, the floors are gross. The back area by the bathroom and the Bathroom itself are not very clean. Overall just dirty and dusty in side. The decor doesn't match (pictures are probably from grand opening years ago) and I think if they cleaned around the pedicure chairs and did some mopping and satirizing to the floors it would help a lot. Also, the Vietnamese causal conversations that go on when I sometimes have my eyes close and trying to relax is not very polite to the customers trying to unwind and relax for a spa experience. Mary is awesome for a pedicure! Well experienced and knows what she's doing! :)Ok, So to elaborate more on the tip I left above...this place is awesome - well, at least Mary was. I normally get pedicures at least 2 times a month, but since I had a baby, time pretty much went out the door for me. (I'm pretty sure all you mother's out there understand this!) I was out running errands and while my mom was watching him... I figured why not have some ME time? A quick pedicure won't be bad! This nail shop is located right next door to Nugget on Elk Grove. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and this place was pretty vacant. It has a nice ambiance with calming decors that make you really feel relaxed. The spa pedicure chairs are the nicer upgraded ones - the chairs are super comfy and equipped with a built in massage to make your experience more relaxing. Mary definitely cleaned up my little toesies and made them look pretty once again! It's been weeks since I last seen her and my toes still look fresh and clean! :) She's definitely well experience and pretty sure she's been in the nail industry for quite some time.
