Today was my first time at this salon, I have a funeral on Saturday so I urgently needed to get my nails done. So let's start with the pros.Pro: - friendly receptionist (one of them was quite nice)- my nail tech did the perfect shape for my fill - easy parking - nice ambiance - easy to make appointmentsCons:- my pinky is super sore and there's a small cut on my finger from when she was removing my previous gel. This is NOT okay.... when I go to a salon I understand that things happen but when I asked her why my pinky was so sore she gave me an excuse saying I use my pinky too much?? I was like okay.... and let it go- my color is super uneven and there's ridges in my nails everywhere, I've gotten my nails done plenty of times to know that my nails don't always get ridges (see pictures) normally I would point it out at the salon, but I had to leave as I was there during my lunch. - one of the receptionist was not friendly. I walked in and she was like yes? I was like wtf I have an appointment.....Overall; I was pretty disappointed with the salon, it's in a great area and super close to my work, prices are normal for El Segundo (my fill cost 35$ w/shape & cut down- just regular polish). But unfortunately this last experience has left me unsatisfied. I dont know if I would go back unless i really had no other options. Read Less

$38 dollars for half leg waxing?!? This is a nail salon, not a fancy waxing only bar salon. I've never heard of an extra charge for toes/feet (even at the pricier places). I also had to point out missed spots MULTIPLE times to the water, I think her vision was not that great (although she was very nice). So what exactly am I paying for? That kind of pricing is associated with stellar services and amenities, of which this is not that kind of place. This shop is very bias and treat people based on race and how much they perceive you are going to spend. Nail technician rushed through the job and my Mani/Pedi didn't even last a day; although I've done Gel and also paid $82 for the combo service. I don't know where this place has been my whole life. Each time I got my nails just keep looking better. The first time I got acrylics by Nga and a pedicure by Linda. Both were so nice and they did an amazing job. This time I got gel since now my own nails are long. My gel manicure was by Amy who was so thorough I couldn't have asked for a more perfect manicure. My pedicure was by christy. She was so sweet and wouldn't do anything without asking me if it was ok. My daughter came in with me to do a princess manicure and pedicure by Tiffany. Tiffany made sure she was ok the whole time and completely spoiled her. Definitely found my go to salon! Read Less

I wanted to get my nails done quickly during lunch on a weekday and was looking for convenience.  I was looking for a place that didn't require me to plan well in advance.They let me walk in with essentially no wait... but the girl who did my nails really bruised one of my fingers to the point where my finger throbbed for an  entire day and then you could see a visible bruise.Additionally the machine they used for the gel was broken that it would shut off numerous times (think the sensor was broken).  Instead of getting another machine.. she just rolled her eyes and made it seem like I was the idiot.  Maybe they should get new gellish machines.It's 45 for a gel manicure.. don't think I'll return based on the abuse and price. Beautiful ambiance, clean and great polish selection. Very courteous receptionists and appt schedulers. The first time I came here, Michael did my pedicure and was absolutely amazing. I mean the kind of foot massage that your eyes actually close and you relax. I requested him today but since he wasn't available I was placed with Mae. A completely opposite experience. She was rude when I asked to replace the color after testing it on one nail because it was too sheer. She spent the entire time talking to other employees and then after selecting a substitute color she kept yelling "pedicure #2, pedicure #2!" It was one toe! Thankfully Ken who was doing my gel manicure was incredibly kind and polite. Even though he didn't speak much English he was so sweet. He truly made up for my experience with Mae. Note to the owners: It's blatantly obvious when you're employees are speaking in another language and talking about your customers. When a customer is spending over $60 on a pedicure/manicure employees should be encouraged to provide better customer service. There's plenty of other high end nail salons in the area offering lower prices. So personally speaking, to retain customers, improved service is needed. Read Less

4 stars for their gel manicures, I've had a few different technicians and they've all been quality manicures. I recommend to skip the gel builder manicure. I paid a little extra for it cause I heard it was stronger, initial set a few nails started lifting on the sides near the top, my thumb completely popped off. I got that fixed and got a fill last week and just noticed a few are starting to lift off the sides again. I noticed they don't go all the way to the nail edge so the gel doesn't get on your skin (hurts when you cure if it's on your skin). That spacing might have something to do with them lifting up. Well I needed my nails done.  It was that time again.  I didn't want to go around with my hands looking bad so I found this place near work and gave them a call.  I usually don't like going to new places because the people don't seem to do a good job.To make this a smooth transaction I called and made an appointment to make sure I didn't have to wait.  I was put on hold and after a few minutes a lady came to the line and made my appointment.  I asked who would I be seeing and she said it just depended on who was available at that time.I walk in and this place is packed.  Chairs line both sides of the walls and are slanted facing the entrance door.  They had several technicians and most if not all were working on pedicures and some mani's.  I was greeted and told the young lady at the counter that I had a 2:15 appt.  I was about 5 minutes early.  The first thing I noticed was this place is on the PRETENTIOUS SIDE!  They have 2, yes 2 young girls working the front counter.  They only need one because the other was doing ABSO-FRICKIN-LUTLY NOTHING.  The other helped me and the customer behind me had to wait so why have two receptionist.  They have lots of polish and gels to pick from so that was nice but I was only going to white tips.  There are these ODD high tables to get your manicures done.  The chairs are uncomfortable and your feet sort of dangle so I was lucky that one of 2 manicure table opened up so I moved.The lady came over and started my nails.  You get a mini massage and hot towels put on your hands and they are wrapped in plastic baggies.  The process was going well up until another employee came over to complain about one or both of the two receptionist.  Apparently they weren't giving her any customers but everyone else had more than her and she was pretty pissed.  Now I get there can be friction in the work place but DAYUMMM I'm a customer and I DON'T want to hear your work place drama.  She didn't just complain and walk away she COMPLAINED and then took up residence by leaning into the counter so she could really share her thoughts.  It was REALLY ANNOYING and I wished she would have went away.She finally left and then another employee came up and started to UNLOAD as well!  DAYYUMM...Can I PLEASE get some peace and QUIET and relax while I'm getting my nails done.  Can you go somewhere and sit YO AZZ DOWN!  GEE WILLIKERS!That nonsense finally stopped and the lady finished up and I paid the $47 dollar bill.  I guess wrapping your hands in hot towels and getting that mini 2 minute message that ups the price $12.  It wasn't worth it AT ALL!So now its been NOT EVEN a week and my nails are chipping like I'm digging ditches and doing hard labor.  I don't do dishes the Bunny does.  I wash my hands like a normal person but BASICALLY I don't do anything that would warrant my GEL treatment to CHIP.  Let me NOT forget to mention that my cuticles look frightful!  I know I saw her working on them with that critical remover thingy but you can see by my picture they don't look like it.  I can't say I will be back if they don't last a week.  And you know I tipped that girl.  AVOID like the PLGUE and save your Benjamin's for another place.  I guess the folx over here don't know what looks good and they are used to a substandard job Read Less

I was on the hunt for a new nail salon. I found The Nail Garden and decided to give it a try! I scheduled an appointment with Na. She is very sweet! She explains the whole process. I've had a couple of mishaps with chipped gel Nails lately. She explained to me that it has to do with how the manicurist what's the gel on your nails. Was going there religiously.. but finally had enough of being treated like a second class citizen. Some nail techs act like Prima Donnas, are rude and do not treat you like a customer. Toby is wonderful, but only works a day or two a week so it was hard to get an appointment. Trish is also good (and kind). Kim is rude and talked about me (half in Vietnamese and half in English while I sat near her). Granted I’ve never even had her do my nails.. so her ‘opining’ about me in a negative manner as if I couldn’t understand her was disheartening. Many of the better and customer oriented nail techs have left due to the hostile environment. Ally does a wonderful job trying to manage the chaos. This salon is very pricy! $67 for a gel mani + pedi.... I've been here a few times because it's conveniently located next to where I work. Overall, I think the service is decent; in my experiences, the women helping me were mostly friendly.. but I just think the salon prices are absurd. $37 for gel mani: $17 for Classic Manicure + $20 for a gel polish - meh.. $30 - for the Decadaent Spa Pedicure- comes with a lot more than the classic pedi which is $24Tip: If you're ready to spend some $$$ on just an average experience, it'd also be best to book an appointment here. I was very unhappy with my manicure. The wait was extremely long and I was waiting over an hour because they never answer their phones to make an appointment. Then, I had to sit in the chair another half hour waiting for my manicurist and she was rude and rushed. I told her she was hurting me with her nail and she gave me a lot of attitude because I twitched. Worst pedicure I've ever had. I came in on my birthday to treat myself and honestly my feet look worse than when I went in. Tiffany paid more attention to the television on the wall than she did to my feet. I got the nail garden deluxe pedicure which is supposed to be more exfoliative than the other pedicures, but all my callouses are still there. Because of the callus softener they use and Tiffany not exfoliating the way she was supposed to, my feet are now peeling where they were most exposed to the callous remover. The place is clean - great selection of services and products and new techniques. Techs are great, they know their stuff and are friendly. However, one particular girl who "seems" to run to show from the front is bossy to customers and techs alike. She even made a mistake wth my appointment time and blamed me for it, swore I was late when she had called me and asked me to come at a different time than my original appointmt time. Even the tech was confused and thought I was right. Then she made me wait so she could "squeeze" me in. Which she knew was totally inconvenient since I had a flight that night. No apologies or anything, since of course she insisted it was my fault. I almost didn't come back, but the tech was so nice I came back another time. But the place feels just so rushed. I think mostly because of that girl. I've been to other places that were just as busy - but if the customer service is done right the clients never have to feel that tension. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. They used to be great, but making an appointment here has become I mpossible... you can make an appointment online days in advance (which they push for you to do) then get rejected an hour before your appointment (this happened on my birthday, nice impression ... I'll NEVER one here again & this was my third strike out). Last three times I've "made an appointment" I was left to sit on their wait list. I FINALLY found Na at Nail Garden and she does REAL GEL NAILS (not the gel polish or acrylic/powder but the 'sculpted gel' / 'gel builder'). Na is sweet and attentive and does a great job. I used to get full set sculpted gel nails in San Diego all the time but for whatever reason, it's been very difficult to find a place in westside LA that even offers this service. Over the years I've had some bad experiences and some funky looking nails trying to find a technician that does them properly and I'm so grateful I've found Na! :)This is definitely going to be my place now that I finally know where to go and who to go to. I honestly have no idea how the reviews for this nail salon is so high. I get acrylics and my first time here, I got gel polish and my total came out to $59 without tip. That's pretty crazy, especially for very subpar nails. I gave this place another try and this time got regular polish. For $39, my nails look 3+ weeks old!! The picture is from day 4 and with no wear or tear from water, dishes or anything. They pretty much looked like this right after getting them done but I had to go out of town, so I couldn't go back and request a redo. These nails are seriously SO disappointing. Lumpy, fat, uneven, far from the cuticle, the works! I'm embarrassed to show my nails. Also, the tools were super questionable (aka old) and the table top is still cracked from my first visit there. You won't get anything close to the posh visit you're paying for. The nail technicians and female manager are very nice, though - hence that one additional star.My advice: Save your money and go somewhere (maybe anywhere) else). I've been going to Nail Garden for years to get simple gel manicures and pedicures but recently decided I wanted to go back to acrylics. I used to only go to one nail salon in Beverly Hills because I'm very particular about my acrylics and only had one nail tech whose work I trusted; however, that's until I found Na off of yelp! I came in today for a full set with Na and she was incredible. She listened to what I wanted and throughout the appointment she checked to make sure I was happy with the shape. She used the perfect amount of product so my nails do not look bulky and she was extremely sweet and took her time and stayed 30 minutes after closing. This place is definitely on another level compared to other nail salons!  After having a bad experience at another nail salon, I was searching for someplace new and chose Nail Garden based on some positive Yelp reviews I'd read.  I was not disappointed.  The staff is friendly and the nail technicians did an amazing job.  The salon is clean and visually appealing, making it easy to just relax and allow myself to be pampered.I'd recommend making an appointment.  It appears they get pretty busy! First let me start off with, I love getting pedicures at this salon. However, I never got my nails done. The first time I get them done, they are crooked, thick application of nail coat, curled nails and overpriced. When I first asked the receptionist in the front they explained that the estimate price would be around $50 to $55. When the total price came around, it was $84 dollars. Yes  $84, for a full set acrylic with fairy dust. I was beyond shocked. I paid for the set. But look after only 4 days my nail already broke. Look at the pictures, ridiculous.
