Me and my friend went in to get pedicures. They were great at first, then it started going downhill when they practically forced my friend to get her nails done. So I got mine done with her. They rushed us, and the end result was poor quality. I asked for only gel polish but they gave me acrylic with gel. My lady didn't even cut my cuticles until after my polish was applied. She cut my finger, and left my nails a mess underneath them. Glue and everything. Not happy. Read Less

This was the worst manicure experience of my entire life. My nails are trashed. I went in for a basic manicure and left after two women worked on them. I tried Village Nails for the first time yesterday and I was VERY happy!  The salon is nice and large and very clean.  Mi did my nails and they have never looked so good.  She took her time and paid attention to detail.  Henry did my pedicure and I could have fallen asleep it was so relaxing.  Lilly painted my toes and she was also very professional and did a great job.  I am so happy I have found my new nail salon! Terrible experience. I've been getting my nails done for forty years and this was the worst experience ever. They told me they could not do nail art, they could not do a color tip French, they had me pick out a color and then said they could not do that color. I was getting my old set off and a new set on and it was so painful! Six times I pulled my hand back because the nail tech was so rough. I wanted a ballerina shape and she made them an almond with a semi flat tip! I came home and fixed the tip shape myself! Never again will I go there, so unhappy! Read Less

I'm giving this place one star solely for the high quality gel nail polish. There is a good selection and the color lasts. Aside from that, Lux Nails was very disappointing. I made an appointment more than four hours prior to the time I wanted to come in. My sister and I arrived ten minutes early for our appointment at 7pm. (mani-pedi). We weren't seated for the pedi until 7:15, and the water was not ready for us until 7:20. Someone finally came to start on my toes at 7:35. M...y sister and expressed that we were a little crunched for time and with the late start we'd like to just get our toes painted and just shellac instead of full mani-pedi. My lady told me she was "almost done" with my pedi so I had to get the full treatment even though really she only just put lotion on my feet and I had quite a long time left to go. I felt like I was conned into paying for something I didn't want. Finally we get to my nails, at this point I told her I REALLY don't want a full manicure, just gel nails. She was mocking my sister and I with her coworker. I was charged an amount that didn't make much sense to me but she wouldn't explain the prices. I regret leaving a tip. First and last time going to Lux nails.. My sister made a reservation for 7pm for two mani pedis, we arrived about 10 minutes early to pick our colors. We were seated for pedis at 7:15, my sister had someone helping her at 7:20ish, then finally at 7:30 i said i was just going to skip my pedi and get a manicure only. Thats when the woman helping me showed up, i asked if she could just paint my toes and I'll do a regular manicure. She did that and rushed me to the manicure chair. My nails are so uneven, and the whole time she was mocking "now she wants a manicure" wtf? So finally at 8:20 im done and my regular manicure and polish on my toes ONLY totaled to $40. Worst experience I've ever had. I get my nails done every 3 weeks or so, usually somewhere else. I tried this place today because my other one was booked. The guy scraped my shellac off with his fingernails, rather than the correct tool. Then his painting skills were awful too. My pedicure was just the same. While scrubbing my legs with the scrub they use, he cut my legs and they burned so bad afterwards. And to top it off, nobody said a word to me the whole time. Very unprofessional and rude. I've always loved this place BUT something is going on a lot of the girls are gone including Anna! They keep telling me she's on vacation it's been six weeks and I've been coming here a long time. Customer service is everything to me. While this place may look nice inside, their customer service skills are lacking. Asked for an "American manicure", because I do not like the " white" on the French manicure. He assured me he knew how to do it. Long story short, he didn't. When I asked for it to be removed becaue i didn't like it, he beame irate! Really? His comment was "next time be clear what you want" huh?! I said American manicure from jump! He proeeded to argue. My best friend and I went there get our Pedi and Mani done for the wedding. They was wonderful with many things even we are deaf, they was willing to communication with us by write the papers and gesture. Their prices are affordable for us to pay. Inexpensive yes but DON'T get lash extensions.....they GLOB the glue on, you feel like needles in your eye lids, you won't be able to touch your eyes, clean them, nothing. Literally chucks will break off and take YOUR real lashes with them. This is NOT what extensions should be like. Horrible & painfull, I'll never go there again. EVER! Read Less

I used to visit Village Nails 1-2 times per month. The last time I was there the technician cut off the sides of both of my big toe nails. I asked her to stop but she just smiled and kept going. I have no idea what she was doing or who trained her to clip the sides of toe nails. My toes hurt for days and months later my toe nails are still not back to normal. I will never return. Just got a fill here and had a very rushed technician. She cut me several times and then put acrylic over the blood! Really happy to see blood for another two weeks. When i told her, she filed it and said ok better. No its not better! I was obviously annoyed, so she introduces herself, like I will be asking for her again. I was shopping around for salons and having no luck for good service. I tried two others in cameron park and they both sucked. my gf told me this was a chill spot so I tried it out. I have been to numerous nail salons in town but seem to always wind up back here. The prices are reasonable ($25 for a gel manicure which is lower than anywhere else I have been in town), and they always do a great job. I initially came here because of the convenient locations- near the freeway and not far from home. I have continued to come back because of the excellent service. The staff always recognizes me and they are usually quick to provide service. The pedicures are by far their best service. They always give a very long leg and foot massage. Much longer than any other place I have been. And when you think it's over, they come back with hot stones and continue the massage. It's very relaxing and you definitely get your money's worth. My one complaint is that I have been there a few times in the summer and instead of running the air conditioner on these 90 degree plus days, they'll have the door open and a fan. When I am sitting still for that long I sometimes get uncomfortable. Fortunately they have cold water available and are happy to bring it to you during the service. I made an appointment for my daughter to get a mani and pedi on prom day.  We had an early appointment where I expected her to be pampered.  I dropped her off and went to get my car washed at the gas station car wash in the same parking lot.  By the time I was done getting my car washed (about 30 minutes), my daughter called to say she was done.  I thought, wow, that was quick.  Later that day, I asked her how good it felt to be pampered as it is not something we do very often (maybe once a year).  She said they did her toes and fingers at the same time and she was not allowed to use the back massager because it was too hard to paint the nails while the massager was on.  I was really dissappointed.  I wanted my daughter to be spoiled for the day and all she got was rushed out the door.  Within two days, her french manicure was chipping.  My daughter loves to do designs on her nails and they definitely last more than two days.  Very dissappointed. I have been getting a gel overlay with a french manicure here since I moved back to the area. I have had a fantastic experience here every time, and I think that is becuase I religiously go to Kristine. She doesnt give me any guff like most places since I like my nails so short, and does a fabulous job. If you are getting any sort of acrylic, gel, etc etc, anything other than just a mani-pedi, I recommend Kristine, She is well worth the wait. Read Less

I made an appt here yesterday for gel polish application after a friend of mine had it done at another nail salon and loved it. When I showed up for my appt, it was obvious the woman doing my nails was in a huge rush (did I mention I made an appt?). After completely cutting my nails off without asking what length I wanted them, she briefly filed them, and applied the polish. Long story short: she ended up asking another woman, who was unfamiliar with the process, to finish the job. My nails looked terrible, which I pointed out as she was rushing me out the door. They did " fix " them, but today the polish on two of my nails is completely coming off. I just had my eyebrows waxed here today. All the chairs were full when I walked in so that's always a good sign. I didn't have an appointment but they took me back immediately. I let the technician know that I have really sensitive skin and she was careful to cool the wax down a bit before applying it to my skin and applied a nice cooling aloe vera gel after it was all over.It was very quick and I was happy to find my waxing was only $10!
