So I've been coming here since September and I always get jacked up nails and today just really did it, I always give people chances, this whole time I've been there has been one good nail tech named tiffany and she's always unavailable, they are definitely slow for a reason never going back, every time I leave the corners are never painted, today there was some fuzz she left on the gel and it dried in leaving a bump... And the worse part was.... She left my skin filled with dried gel paint, I was so upset when I told her she tried fixing all the mistakes but honestly I couldn't wait much longer, like who does this?! I don't usually write bad reviews but I am very disappointed and I actually left this nail salon feeling kind of sad. I haven't had my nails done in almost 2 years and decided to treat myself sine I had a stressful day and just wanted something pretty and fresh. Each nail is somewhat lop sided, because they were filed down unevenly- the nail beds are now VERY thick so the polish looks sloppy, and I can actually still see the lunula on a few of my nails. I told the tech before reaching for my wallet these exact words- "I am sorry but I really don't like how they look. They are very bulky and uneven, some just look like blobs not like new nails." Because I am not one to make a scene and because its already the end of a very long & stressful day I paid the full $40 and tipped her. Regardless of my obvious dissatisfaction from my complaint they still did not offer any other solution to give me a better experience or want to come back. I should have stuck with the appointment I originally made in Grossmont had I not been too lazy to drive out of Spring Valley. I will say, my 3 year olds manicure and pedicure was worth the $20. At least she's happy and loves its. But a $70 day at this nail salon is by far the biggest disappointment. I will try a different salon across the street when its time to get a fill. Read Less

I went in today to get an eyebrow wax. This is not my usual go-to spot, but I needed them done quick. I have very full and thick eyebrows, so I asked for a clean-up and trim... and I specifically asked for nothing to be done with my shape. When I looked in the mirror, I found that my eyebrows did not match, she waxed off a good chunk of my inner corner brow and made both brows soooo thin. I complained to her and she said that they looked fine. I know have to spend the next three months filling in my eyebrows. I have been getting my nails done here for years and have no complaints. There are always nail techs available and I usually have two of them working on my hands and feet. The women are so sweet and friendly and offer you complementary drinks while your getting serviced. I also love that they have televisions I also get my eyebrows done which is cheaper than anywhere else on Thursday! Read Less

Honestly, they do a great job here. I've recently tried a few new places around el cajon/la mesa area and have always been disappointed, but this place is really good. I always get a nice manicure and/or pedicure and it always looks good and is affordable. Got the deluxe pedicure as a walk in. Small improvement to some other reviews is that they use a liner in the foot spas for each person now and the tools came in sealed 'clean' kits. So let's hope they were really sterilized. Pedicure was decent but the poor customer service is the downfall. My pedicurist couldn't be bothered to even ask me how I was, she even had her earbud in listening to music, etc tuning everything out. And the 5 other girls not working were each on their tablets or phones listening to loud videos/shows. This does not make for a very relaxing environment. Will not be going back here. Read Less

Wow unbelievable.... I've been coming here for awhile now and have always decent service. I came in today for a simple polish change and basic pedicure at 615. They don't close till 7. I don't even get a hi when I walk in. So I say hi and ask for what I need and the girl closest to me sighs and rolls her eyes and looks at the clock and asks me to come tomorrow. NOPE!!!! Five of us came in for pedicures, two full sets, and a fill.  Although my nails look fine, the nail technician did gel without asking.  My pedicure was lackluster at best.  My niece was told they couldn't get the color she wanted open, so they couldn't use that color.  My sister was able to get the color open after my niece's toes were done, but they put gel on her hands after she explicitly said she didn't want gel.   Once we complained, they got incredibly rude.  Finally, after much complaining, they relented and charged for regular polish.This place was a complete rip off.  Won't be coming back. The most uninspired leg massage ever. Imagine if a 100 year old was putting lotion on your legs, feet, and toes. That's how much effort she put into it. I had the spa pedicure. I wanted to try this new place since my regular salon was busy for an hour & i was in a hurry. I came to Vivid Nails across the street. The place was empty but one person was getting a padi. Several workers yet being there 15 min. While few of them ask me what i need, than they walked around confused & careless before they pointed on a chair to sit down ...I should have read the reviews before going there ! I know this place doesn't always get the best reviews but my Grandma, Sister and I have been going here through the last 10 years and we have never been disappointed. Today I got a normal Spa Mani and pedi and they did a good job and give great leg and forearm massages. I used to always get a full set and they NEVER came off as long as a got a fill about every 2 weeks.(I would spring for the $5 gel on top, when I did my nails would last through 6 hour drumline practices). First time here. Finally convinced hubby to try a pedicure. First thought was the prices were a bit higher than my usual place (that is a bit out of my way) but if it works out it would be more convenient. Next first impression was that the foot rest looked greasy and in need of wiping but they did that AND placed a disposable liner so I stayed positive. Next, look over and the remote to the "new" spa chairs they were advertising looked dirty and the chair remote looked busted. It went downhill from there... She filed skin off to toes on my left foot and cut two toes on my right with cuticle cutters, then applied a callous remover that burned all the wounded areas. I came here this evening to get a manicure. I arrived at 6:30, 30 minutes prior to their posted closing time of 7 o clock, which is more than enough time to do a manicure. I walked in and they said they were closed and to come back tomorrow. I said "aren't you open until 7?" They had no response. So I told them they lost my business. I drove all the way to this location and they turned me away. I then drove down the street to Mai's nails where they gladly took me in, didn't rush, and did a wonderful job. I've been going to see Lily for a year. The ladies in this place are great and laugh with each other which tells me the like being there. Wifi and television are always on, music in the background is a little annoying, it doesn't change very often. Though today it was Christmas music. I do believe it will play all month long. They're very sweet and friendly, but they don't seem to listen when I tell them what I want. They keep doing a really sloppy job on my nails. And I would agree with the unsanitary comments. I've watched them put dirty tools back in the "clean" box and they put used acrylic liquid back in with the clean. Yuck!! State Board would not be happy. Read Less

Went in to get my fill and gel taken off, first she cuts me with her drill bit taking off the gel, then she takes a fake nail and wedges it underneath the fill to rip it off but ends up ripping off part of my real nail. Hurt so bad I started crying and had to leave. Went to Eva Nails, and they soaked them and sanded the full off, pain-free. Never going back to Vivid Nails ever again, the lady that ripped my nail off has cut me before and is careless. Read Less

I know this place has some bad reviews but I've always experienced great service from Lilly and also Tiffany. I stick with my usual technician that I've established very good rapport with and I always get taken care of. If language is a barrier to good rapport, I'd suggest at least trying. *DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS SALON*I am only giving one star because that's the lowest rating. I don't usually give bad reviews but I was so upset after returning to the salon after spending $57.00 for Mani/Pedi gel French + $tips$ for both girls, when the gel peeled off of 2 of my nails in just one day. When I returned. The gal who did my nails acted like she had never seen me before! True this was my first visit to this salon but I KNOW who I spent an hour with getting my nails and feet done! Long story short, she refused to fix the two nails for free. She insisted that I must pay! I walked out pissed off and to never return. Needless to say a week later all of this gel polish has started peeling off!! I now need have both hands redone! I hope you choose wisely if you plan on going to this salon! I just left and I am so angry that I have to write a review while I am driving. I went in needing a fill. I had a French manicure with colored tips. I left there with uneven now they don't know how to do a French manicure and my nails look like they have been painted by my 10-year-old daughter. I had two services done here today.  One was a spa pedicure. The gal didnt really seem into servicing me,and kept talking the whole time. She didnt scrub one foot with fresh lotion and didnt cut the cuticles well. Two toes are sudeways and shorter than the rest. I had to ask for a second coat of top coat because she didnt put it all the way to the cuticle and you could see it. My second service was a gel mani by jasmine. Very disappointed with my gel mani...it only lasted a week until the edges started to peel. Other places I've been to have lasted 2 weeks at the very least. My manicurist was extremely rude and got up halfway through my manicure to go to the back and do some other girls eyebrows.The pedicure started off great, they use plastic to line the bowl so it's extremely sanitary. But again, halfway through my girl got a phone call and took several minutes to determine someone else's appointment time. This was right in the middle of my marine mask and it ruined the whole pedicure experience. The massage chairs were not very good either,even though there's a sign (one of several pinned around the shop) that they are new. Any suggestions on another nail place in Rancho? Pros: Great nail polish selection Cons: -The salon is open til 7pm, but don't even think about going in at 630pm for a full set because they won't take you. -Also, don't count on appointment times either because you'll still end up waiting...even if you called a head of time and mentioned you only have a certain amount of time to get your nails done. Probably one of the worst pedicures I've ever received! First off, the nail tech that did my pedi was not friendly  at all. Secondly, the entire pedicure took about 15 minutes. I was so disappointed! I was there yesterday for a refill, very disappointed.First of all they charge for a full set $38 dlls and they charge me $33 for the refill.She burn my nails, she cut my fingers and lastly the gel was all around my skin and left nails looking really bad.I think this lady had no experience on nails, I've never been in so much pain ( her name was Ivy).I'm not saying the place is bad, but I for sure had a first bad experience. Sanitary? Not here. From the time I walked in all I could think was THIS PLACE IS DIRTY. Two of us were there for a spa pedicure (with app't.). The spa tub was filthy! I cringed putting my feet in, but after the "operator" put the blue liquid in, I could no longer see the dirty bottom. My girl made no attempt to be sociable...and to top it off talked on her cell phone for at least half of the treatment. I paid extra for callus removal; when I got home and felt and inspected my heels, they were no different than before the treatment. Unsanitary...poor service....I will cross Vivid Nails off my list.
