I walked in as a group with two of my sisters. In total we were a group of 3 and all wanted to get our nails done together. We communicated that we ALL wanted our nails done, since they only had two artists I had my sisters go first and sat next to them to wait my turn. Once they basically finished my sisters nails they finally informed me that they didn't have time for me! The way it was verbalized was rude and the fact they waited last minute to inform me, take my money, and rush us out the door was totally ridiculous. I am never going back and my siblings won't be back either. Not to mention they didn't do a good job either, the nails are completely uneven and my siblings weren't happy with the results. I am a teacher at a school in El Cajon, I took some of my students to get their nails done for their graduation here and it was a HORRIFIC experience. The male worker there literally lost his patience with my 13 year old students who were asking prices for their service (mind you, this was their first time at a nail place) and he decided it was a good idea to shove a brochure with the prices in my face and tell me to shut up and hush me in front of my students. He then goes off to talk about us in his language that we didnt understand and said "freaken mexicans." At this point I ask for the managers number and he walks up to me and starts to shove his cell phone with his manager's number in my face once again! I just can't believe the unprofessionalism and ignorance of this guy to get that aggressive in front of kids. The reviews here sound like people clicked on the wrong nail place. This place should have 5 stars! The girls are awesome! My nails always look great, I get compliments for weeks! If you're a fan of the mood nails (color changing) they have the best selection. The best part is you're in n out. I just got a fill and a nail fix and was in and out in 45 min for $25. I've been here before my first time was good, this last time I went I left mad! This is because I paid for a spa pedicure but they made me move to a regular chair so they could put my nail polish on my toes while finishing my manicure! If I pay to be in the spa chair I think I deserve to stay in the spa chair until they are done with the services I'm paying for, am I right? Or am I wrong? Second, most of the ladies there don't know English and it's really hard to communicate with them. The manager is very nice! She's so sweet, she's probably the only reason why I'll keep coming back, but the next I go I will be letting her know about this! One more thing! Kim Ann is the best manicurist there!!!! I love her! I don't know why this other customer had such a horrible experience but I have been going there for about 16 years now to get my nails done and I think they have great customer service and provide quality service!! I used to drive all the way from Escondido and even Riverside county just to go there!! Maybe it was an employee who no longer works there or maybe just was totally wrong and it should be taken care of by the owner. I have never had hair services done though, but from my relationship and service experience with the nail part and the owner, Tina, it has been fantastic. They have offered to do a pedicure and nail fill at the same time and when I say "no thank you. I would like them separate." they are very courteous and understanding. I am a very picky customer and they never are rude when I ask them to redo something or ask questions. They truly want to please the customer. I also know in the last year there are a few hair stylists that left and no longer work there. I highly recommend Designer Hair and Nails!!!! Read Less

By far the worst salon I have ever been to. Everyone was extremely rude, they are way overpriced, and the woman had to stop doing my hair two times because she was having a coughing attack from her cigarrette she was smoking a minute before she started.
