Came here with my friend she had to wait almost one hour for the lady to do acrylic, since only 1 person does acrylic . Another time I went there they said there was a 20 min wait, I waited more than 45 minutes before they got to me.  I asked her if she can test on my nail the 2 gel colors that I picked out, since the color sometimes differs from the sample. She says to me no I can't test it because it has to bake. I said to her the other girls always do it for me.   I was paying, gave the lady $100 cash, she gives me $7 in change. I told her I gave her $100 bill, she responded by saying I gave it to you check your purse. What! So she looked in the drawer and had set the money somewhere there. INCREDIBLE! I was coming here consistently for over a year before I moved away, and never experienced a break in my nails, but the experience I had on December 23, 2017 is my reason for writing this review. It's been almost a full month and not a single nail has broken, and they honestly (besides the grow out) still look incredible. Sue works magic. This salon takes their time and produces quality work, so if you're looking for a quick mani pedi with your girlfriends on the weekend, I wouldn't necessarily recommend because you won't be in and out. But if you are wanting quality nails, and are someone who gets your nails done as regularly as filling your gas tank, this is the place to go. They have a huge selection of gels and regular polish, I personally have only ever done gel because it lasts longer. Booking an appointment is wise, but you get what you pay for and wait for. SERVICE/EXPERIENCE: Warning! If you need to get both fingernails and toes done... DO NOT sit down and let them begin with your feet first without identifying a person to do your nails. They will start on your feet and then take other customers. Essentially making you wait double time to get both services instead of putting someone on your toes and feet - at the same time. When I asked the manager- she said (while taking another customer for a manicure who had just walked in) she will get to my nails when the lady was done with my feet. What?? So... basically my time is not valued because she values taking another customer? When I called the manager she said she'd get a person on my nails while someone gets my feet. Why would I want to get both services done separately? Overall on the weekends, service is horribly slow...avoid going during this time if possible. I do like that they are open until 8pm!QUALITY: The quality of the work is good, however. And I would go back on like a Wednesday around 3pm...to avoid the crowd. I am always pleased when I leave this establishment with what my nails look like - which is why I would go back. The pedicurists are so meticulous and takes their time to ensure your nails look nice and professional. I honestly wish these nail salons would stop being so cheap and utilize technology to make people schedule appointments. Not happy with how much it costs for me overall (Full set acrylic gel with matte coat set me $52) but honestly, I'll just get cheaper services next time. I had Sue who despite me being a walk on at 6 o'clock and it being so busy, she did not skip a step, or at all rushed the process. It took me a while to get a seat that day, but I was at the salon past closing time because she wanted it to be perfect. She was great conversation (which is a nice change from me feeling like I was just talking for no reason) and at least I left with my nails well done. Best mani/pedi I have ever received. Thao is a miracle worker. Only salon I have ever visited where my gel manicure lasts 2 weeks. I made a full 3 weeks with NO chipping or cracking, and the edges didn’t lift up and snag on my clothing or hair like they typically do as they grow out. Had 3pm appt and didn't get seated until 3:50....they seem all over the place there and only cater to regulars- also FYI the $35 credit card minimum they impose is illegal and can be reported to both visa and discover (most they can do is $10) the women working there are nice but not worth the wait and inconvenience Read Less

Found this place in our search bur definitely not worth 4 or 5 stars.  My tech was nice but overall not impressed. No cash with me but they card machine didnt allow for a tip but they was willing to swipe my card again, no thanks. And their prices aren't visible to new clients. This salon is beyond deserving of these 5 stars. Super clean location with very comfortable chairs. A great place for relaxing while getting a mani and pedi. I love their their lavender spa pedicure the most. It is Ahhhmazing! The manicurists are always taking their time when working on your nails. They ask questions every now and then to make sure that you like what they are doing. They really make sure that everything looks great and to your liking. Super friendly and nice!I have been coming to this location for quite some time now, but it was not until recently I discovered that they use hard wax. I knew they offer waxing, but most nail salons typically use regular wax; however, I prefer hard wax. Nonetheless, with a busy schedule it helps to get everything done in one visit. Thao is who you need to see for ALL of your waxing needs. It is due to her attention to detail and her need for perfection, that makes her an incredible waxer. Gentle and proficient-leaving my skin super soft. Plus, she has such a great personality! We are always laughing and before I know it, the session is over. I love how everyone here is extremely nice. It is always clean and they really make an effort to make you feel comfortable, I've been to other places all over the bay area and my nails never last as long and they are always rough with my hands. When I get my shellac manicures here they NEVER chip and last 1.5 months before I have to come back in due the the hideous grow out.My advice is to anticipate that there will be needed extra time (even with appointment) because sometimes they are late, but that is because they are very busy!! Cost me 83 dollars without tip for mani and pedi. Although I love the quality- this place is way over priced.  They seem to charge what they went depending on mood.  The owners are never around and don't even review yelp so they never know how terrible the time management is, or the fluctuating inconsistent pricing.  Unfortunately I only come for Bebe. Bebe is the only reason I've been coming to this place to have my nails done, every time she does an amazing job. But their prices are ridiculous. Today this place changed me $73 for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure with a simple paws design on two nails. With tips it turned to be almost $100! Was shocked to get this number at the counter. They used to change $3 extra per nail with a design. But today Sue stated "It's $15 extra"... For two nails with a simple paws design? When I started questioning the price, she couldn't clearly explain why, I asked how much they charge now for a single nail design as it used to be +3, and she started telling that it's more expensive on gel mani (I've always got gel mani here), after repeating again "how much?" she said $5, "why I'm changed $15 then?". Initially I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to get lovely Kim that works at Mandara Nail Spa in trouble, but now I have to because my toes are in pain and I do not wish anybody to go through this, especially having to pay to end up being in pain. I got a pedicure, regular nail polish by Kim. She is very sweet, but she didn't do a great job with the nail paint - the very next day I had a big color crack on my big toe, and the tips of my toes were not sealed, (I could already see my natural nail color at the tips). A few of my toe nails were also not cut straight, but were crooked. I went back to the salon and asked if they can please put on a new color and make sure the tips are sealed. Kim graciously applied the new nail color. However, the very next day the next color started to peel off at the tips - she didn't seal the tips again. At that point, I simply made a decision not to go to that salon any more because the quality is just not where it should be. But now after a few days, I notice my big toes are hurting on the sides, because it seems that Kim cut the sides of my big toe nails, which is a huge no-no in pedicures. Toes are supposed to only be cut on top, not on the sides, or else the sides of the nails can start growing into the skin, possibly creating a HUGE problem later on, if the nail is not able to penetrate thru the skin. Most women will know what I'm talking about. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN A PROFESSIONAL SALON. They should NEVER cut the sides of toes nails. Now the sides of my big toes are swollen and are tender to touch. I hope and pray my nails grow out fine without any complications. This is why I had to write a review and warn people to make sure they watch their pedicurist at Mandara Nail to make sure they don't mess up their toes. Or simply go to a different salon. Personally, I'm going to try to find a new salon in the area. I hope Mandara Nail Spa reads this review and professionally trains their employees, and that this review might save someone from a painful and time wasting experience. Read Less

I've been coming to Sue to get my nails done off and on for the past three years! She always does an amazing job with my nails & somehow seems to remember everyone's name!I keep coming back because they consistently do such an amazing job, but I will say the one downside is the wait. They take their time and pay attention to detail, but that can sometimes mean that you end up waiting in the lobby even if you had an appointment. This place is a hit or a miss.I live in Dublin and come here from time to time. I made an appointment because I know it can get busy there. When I called I specifically asked for Sue because she's done my nails before and I liked the way they turned out. When I told them I had an appointment I thought they would look at the books to see who with, but instead a different girl had me sit at her table. I didn't want to be rude and ask for Sue instead, so I just went along with who I had. I asked for a simple French nail with round tips, and even showed her a picture. She nodded yes as if she understood exactly what I wanted, but after she started to cut my nails and file I realized she was doing square. I asked her to change it to round which can be possible, but after you cut short nails into square you can't always fix them.She didn't speak to me the entire time. She also tended to walk away to get something without telling me. I don't know, it kind of just seemed rude and unprofessional.I will say that there are some people in the salon that are dream makers, but they're always hiring new girls that just don't meet the standards. When cashing me out a different lady asked if I wanted someone to do it better without me saying anything, clearly knowing that it was not well done. Since that would have been awkward for me since the girl was right there and I just wanted to leave I asked if I could just pay $5.00. She said no because it was already in the system. That was a bold faced lie since they don't have any kind of computer software and just have a credit card processor. She then charged me four more dollars then I was told it would cost. I can't rave enough about this place! I have been going here for a few years now the service is amazing! Anytime I'm in a hurry they get me in and out, and my nails are perfect every time. I usually do shellac on my fingers, and it always lasts at least 2/3 weeks. As someone who works with their hands everyday, in and out of water constantly a great shellac mani was hard to find, but I've found it here! My pedicures with regular polish last far longer, I usually get one a month. Sue is usually who I go to for manicures, however I've had services from almost everyone here.. Thao, Stephanie, Thuba, Bebe, Nancy, Nicki etc. they are all amazing!! This is the BEST mani/pedi in the east Bay Area hands down! Highly recommend it! The girls remember practically everyone's name, no idea how they do it! They really take their time, and make you feel welcome. The only thing I would say is do not come here mid day expecting a fast service, they do NOT rush and because of the awesome location/people/reputation etc there is usually a short wait, but well worth it!! Huge selection of shellac colors!! Clean clean clean! The prices are reasonable for the quality of product and service. I will continue to come here as long as it exists. Very nice salon but I was disappointed with the service. I will spare giving full details and just say what's important. The quality of my nails for the cost is simply unacceptable. I went to this salon just ONE week ago for a fill and I already have two broken nails one of which cracked just 4 days after getting them done. I work in an office and have to do very little besides type and the nails are very short so it is no reason why they should be breaking. As I got my nails done I watched the tech put a very thin layer of acrylic on my nails I already had trouble when I first got there so at this point I didn't want to keep complaining plus I was given a gift certificate so I was grateful to basically be getting my nails done for free. The shaping on my nails were very poor and I feel like she was rushing as the shop was soon to close and she had someone else's nails she had to do after me. I will never come back to this shop again because it is way to expensive to have such poor service. I still left the ladies who did my nails and feet a $5 tip each even though a tip should be based on being satisfied with the service but my heart wouldn't let me NOT leave a tip lol. Just a word of advice to the salon, pay better attention when doing a fill, make sure all nails are the same shape and size and place a proper amount of acrylic so that the nails are more durable. I feel like I wasted my time coming there and I now have to go get everything done all over again after just ONE week. Friday afternoon at 2 pm the place was empty! My grandma got a spa pedicure and she loved it. I broke a nail flying up here so I got a fill. Tammy was amazing! Not only are my nails perfect shape but I could not decide on a color. She is amazing and patiently let me try every color I said I liked before we settled on white with silver shimmer. I went in two weeks ago and paid 55$ for shellac mani/pedi. And also gave the girls six dollars a piece for tip in cash. This week i went in for just a mani and this time i thought maybe i can get two designs as well. When I was finished I gave the girl 10$ tip and went to pay, the owner or whoever charges cards charged me 43$! Wtf!!?? even with 8$ extra my total should have been 33$. They were basically trying to get 20$ out of me. She explained the price was 33 to start but couldn't explain why I was charged 25$ for shellac the previous week. So i took my tip back, which was rude but she obviously didn't care about her worker or me as a customer.
