I've only been here a handful of times, once years ago, once a couple months ago, and once a few days ago. The quality is in the name - good, but nothing spectacular. They get you in and out quickly, but the process isn't anything special. Clip, file, soak, cuticles, whatever you're getting done, and a 30 second hand massage. During my most recent visit I got a normal sparkle gel manicure for $25. A couple days later and my cuticles are wrecked. There are places in Dublin that do better jobs for the same price. Read Less

This past Sunday, I visited Good Nails aa a walk-in, no appointment. I got a fill with gel polish and a pedicure, also with gel polish. I was greeted quickly and a tech was assigned to do my nails, I believe she was the owner. My pedicure was handled by another tech.The pedicure, including the massage, was one of the better ones I received. The fill was also very good. The shop was clean, the personnel were super friendly and the wait time was minimal. The prices were a little high, but with such great  customer service and nail and pedicure services, it was worth it.I will return to Good Nails when I'm in the Bay Area. Read Less

I'm currently sitting here.. writing this review. Came here on a Sunday with my sisters and my mom because our usual nail salon is closed on Sundays. We've been here a couple times before so we decided to give this place another try. I don't usually write bad reviews, but this was the worst experience we've had at a nail salon. My mom's feet has been needing a pedicure for a while now because her big toe and little toe is in pain from the skin being underneath the nail. Now I know it's not exactly like an "ingrown toenail," but the pain is there and most nail salons we would go to, understands that there is a sense of relief if they would cut the skin from under the nail. If we were able to do it, then we wouldn't have to go to a nail salon, however that is the reason why we go. My mom's nail technician failed to understand. There is a heavy language barrier from the nail technician that it is nearly impossible for my mom to communicate that she is feeling some pain in her toes. She was completely unsatisfied that she needed to stop the pedicure. When we talked to the manager, Peter, he wanted my mom to sign a consent form saying that it is not their responsibility if my mom's toe started bleeding once they try to extract the simple task she was asking for them to do. I mean, my nail technician was able to do it, why couldn't she?Overall, my family and I are not coming back to this establishment. Came here couple years ago when they were bigger inside, and walked away with a cut on my toes from the manicurist. Took a long break, and due to convenience, I came here again to give it another chance. Coz 'm all for helping out local small businesses...but unfortunately, I walked away...unsatisfied AGAIN. Overall, this place didn't have provide the quality and service I was looking for. Pedicure tub /sink didn't feel sanitized like other places I've been. My water was lily and cold. Staff's handling of my nails and skin could've be more "gentle". I got quoted shellac mani/ regular pedi would cost $45 so I settled in and picked my color. I had shellac toe polish to remove and was told $5 extra, no problem. Lady used and filer and was scraping my skin back n forth which was quite painful. Then an electric acrylic nail shaver was used on top of my natural nails to remove the shellac...um, I didn't like that very much.Total cost was somehow $52, when it was suppose to be $45+$5 ($50) removal shellac, I don't know where the extra $2 came from and they didn't seem to know how to explain or understand. I just wanted to hurry out, so I just paid the mystery $2 and left 15% tip. I planned that it'll take about an hour for a mani/pedi but ended up staying for 1hr45mins instead. I was SO late to my next appt. Overall, I suggest going somewhere else for quality nails. Maybe they have better service and quality with their hair salon side, who knows? I went here to have my hair cut because someone recommended the stylists. Worst mistake of my life. It did not look great when I left, but did not realize how horrible it was until I arrived home. It was uneven to the point of 3 inches in some spots. We all have a side that is thicker than the other. My thick side had half the amount of hair because it was thinned out so much. I've tried them time and time again due to the location to my home and each time I'm disappointed. I've tried Good nails for at least 10 years. Tonight, I'm leaving with cuticles still hanging and not trimmed looks like my nails were not even done. My toes look like I did them. I'm not a complainer in the salon as there's really no point. I paid my $32 tipped $5 each and will make it a point NOT to come back here, no matter how close it is to my house. My big toe ended up bleeding the length of the nail on one side because the person doing my pedicure dug the cuticle tool into the side of my toenail several times, applying too much pressure. Prior to that she had filled the tub with water that was so hot I couldn't put my feet in, and didn't fix it till I complained. I wouldn't recommend this place. Read Less

I have been her a few times and have had pretty basic mani/pedis. BUT I started back at gel manicures and gave it a try here. My manicure last less than two weeks. I'm not hard on my nails ( we use the dishwasher and washing machine LOL) so there is no reason why it should only last less than two weeks. Very disappointed!!! Read Less

My three friends and I went to get our nails done today, pedicures are good here! But DONT get your nails done here. My friend had a picture of the nail shape she wanted and the lady messed up her nails. There all different shapes and we told her multiple times that she needs to fix them and she argued with us saying " that's what she wanted"! Not the best. Terrible service. Eating on the job WHILE she was supposed to be doing my nails. Handling money and talking to others while she was SUPPOSED to be doing my nails. My family (grandma, mom, & sister) have been coming here for years and I decided to give it a try and have never been disappointed since! I always get a set of acrylics, and each time they turn out simply beautiful. With my experience they last very long and are much better in price than where I have gotten my nails done elsewhere. Peter & Sonia have both done my acrylics and are amazing! My mom, grandma, and sister also go to Fong for their eyebrow waxing. I came here 3 weeks ago for a shellac manicure and they did a great job. Normally my manicures start chipping after 1.5 weeks but after 3 weeks it was still looking good! Today I got a mani pedi and it came out great. Only reason why I gave 4 outta 5 stars is because they can only do simple designs. Not impressed with the place & not returning... First I noticed they do not use sanitized tools for manicures or pedicures. They barely or not rinse or clean the tubs after pedicure use. I used to come here because it was close to work.  I had several unpleasant experiences that finally drove me into the arms of another salon:I often had to wait 40 minutes to an hour to get a chairThere was one worker who had attention deficit disorder:  she was very interested in who was coming and going, who was zooming who, and twisting to hear conversations throughout the salon.  She would file my toenails without looking and file my cuticles...OUCH!One time they stuck me in the chair after a very long wait, then left me with my feet in the tub for 20 minutes.  I dried my feet off and left and never went back.  When I started to dry my feet off I think I heard them say "we got a runner!" in Vietnamese.  LOL Read Less

I'm visiting from out of state and was not impressed at all. Don't let the fact that it looks somewhat nice fool you. Here is my list of what went wrong...1. There was no calvacide or barbaside in the water... Very unsanitary 2. Tools were not sanitized before use3. Lady put on dish gloves when removing nail polish from my toes. Other ladies I saw did not change cloves or clean tools before the next customer.4.there was paint thinner in the nail polish because the nail polish turned out flat (an opi polish mind you) and thin and started to clump up when the top coat was applied. I told the lady just to remove the polish and that I did not want them painted anymore, she insisted I pick another color. I picked another color and it had the same problem.5. The lady working on my feet was falling asleep while massaging me... So much that she would slowly stop, wake up and begin again. She did not even massage she just glided here hands up and down my legs and put way too much oil on my legs.6. The nail polish was so horribly applied, she quickly dabbed a base coat and she got polish all over the cuticle and skin. She had to redo the polish three times because it kept looking sloppy. Every time she had to remove the nail polish to start again she would sand down my nail again. I asked her to stop sanding down my nail because she was damaging the nail and she kept doing it, I asked her a little more firmly, please stop sanding down my nail and she finally stopped. If she got polish on my skin she used the trimmers and cut the polish off my skin!7. My mother was with me and chose a light color polish and the lady only did one coat, the color was very uneven and spots of her nails were showing. 8. My sister was with us too and the lady burned her feat with the hot stones, every time she took her feet off the stones because it hurt the lady would love them back.I would not recommend this place nor trust the positive reviews. DO NOT GET A BIKINI WAX HERE. For mani and pedis, they're fine,  around 3 stars - acceptable quality, cheap and close to my house. However, I needed a place to get a wax, and they had an opening. Even upon walking my first 5 mins in there, there were 2 red flags I shouldn't have ignored and GTFO. 1. The bed was covered with a fleece blanket. Um...where are the sanitary papers that usually go on there? Good thing I didn't lay down, because the lady came in after and THEN remembered to put it on. 2. The door to the room I was in didn't close all the way... so the lady dragged my bag, which was on the floor, against the door to make sure it remained closed. It was a cheapie bag, but still, that's not how you treat a customer and the floor is DIRTY AF. Anyway, the waxing hurt like hell - and believe me, waxing in general is painful, but the direction she was pulling in and even the wax just felt different from all the other places I go to. Also, I assume because the wax was too hot or SOMETHING, but it looks like I have scrape/burn marks all down there. AND IT STILL HURTS after 2 days. UNACCEPTABLE. Do NOT get waxed here. Read Less

Definitely not impressed with the skill level of the person who did my nails. My acrylics turned out completely crooked and there are several bumps on my nails.Not only that, she wasn't careful with my nails at all and the treatment was quite painful. I've gotten my nails done elsewhere plenty of times and never felt pain while getting them done. At Good Nails, the woman drilled the tool into my skin several times.HORRIBLE customer service.On top of that, they charged me $37 for a fill and a color change. I know plenty of places that are cheaper and do a better job than here at Good Nails. And who asks for tips? I've been coming here since I was a freshman in high school maybe even longer, could've been eighth grade. But I've always loved coming here. The two owners (Peter and his wife) are very good at what they do and I'm always satisfied when I leave. They always accommodate what I need and are always very friendly to me. Love this place! I got my pedicure done a week ago.  They did an amazing job and made my horrible feet look somewhat presentable.  I went back today for a last minute acrylic fill.  This place has a lot of staff, but most of them were sitting around.  Two were sitting in the pedi chairs reading magazines and then one fell asleep, yep,  in front of the customers... Classy! There was only one nail technician for acrylics and that was pretty annoying.  I think this place needs better customer service.  Their staff should sit in the back if they are not working.  The place gives the impression that they lack business and therefore is not a good nail salon.  My fill and gel nails turned out nicely for $37.  That's the going rate in Tri Valley and the lady did a good job. I love their service and attitude at all. They paid her attention for remove my gel nails carefully. Then they did the amazing job with my particular style. They have very good skills about acrylic nails. Moreover, the environment of Good Nails is nicer than other nails salons I had been before; it is clean and ordered. Went for a pedicure to try to reduce the amount of dead skin accumulated on my cracked heels and big toe. The nail tech barely touched them. On top of that, while "massaging" my feet, she popped a nerve between two of my toes; my right foot hurts now when any weight is placed on it, and the only thing that helps is cortisone--which I really would rather not get often due to its nasty side effects. On top of that, the staff looked at me funny for being a man, never mind that plenty of men get pedicures, and the tech who injured me was rude and barely spoke English. I have been coming to this place for over 6 years now. Overall, great customer service and quality work. I have gel nails and get fills every two weeks. Sometimes my nails even last longer than 2 weeks. I have been to numerous nail salons, but none compare to the quality of Good Nails. For the price, it is definitely worth it.
